November Reveal - Day 2 - Beautiful Blizzard

Today is reveal day two for our Holiday Release and we are featuring the set Beautiful Blizzard! 

We are giving this set away to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win! 

This stamp set was inspired by paper-quilled snowflakes. Have you ever tried paper quilling? This technique seems to be making a comeback and I was inspired by the swirls and curls and thought they would make perfect stamped images as well!

Guest Designer Donna Mikasa created this lovely snowy card! I love the white embossing and pretty ink applied over the top! Beautiful! 

Samantha gave the quilled flakes a modern feel with some striped cork and pretty mint papers! 

These Clean and Simple Cards by Crafty Math-Chick could be re-created in almost any color combo! I love the addition of little pearls and sequins too! 

Danielle created this beautiful card using embossed snowflakes and distress inks! Love the effect! 

Here is a sweet card by Shellye! I love the fun bright color combo of mint and purples!  

I love the elegant look of the silver embossing on this card by Stephanie! So pretty!

Lydia also created a fun distress ink background on her card - love how this looks with the pretty white edge!

Tessa created this super fun and colorful snowflake card. I love how some of the flakes are cut out past the edge of the center panel! 

Jess used the classic christmas color combo of red and green on her snowflake card. This is really beautiful with the gold embossing! 

Taheerah created this awesome card  - love the beautiful color gradient over the top!

This beauty by Larissa  features some gorgeous gold snowflakes, glitter, sequins and pearls! Love the bling!

This stamp set was inspired by the loooooong winter that we had in Wisconsin last year! I thought it would be fun to be able to share your love (or hate) of snow with these fun snowy friends! Do you have lots of snow where you live?

Inky Paws Challenge Winners! 

Thanks so much to everyone who entered our last Inky Paws Challenge at here at the Newton's Nook Designs blog! This months Challenge was to add a little sparkle! We had so much fun checking out all the entries! Everyone had such fun sparkly cards - I imagine your rooms are all filled with glitter - and your hands and hair and clothes! Inky Paws Favorites

This sparkly card by Lynn using our Holiday Hounds stamp set is so fun! We loved the white and red sparkle paper and the CAS layout! There is even sparkle on the pups sweater and hat too!

This card by Shannon has a ton of fun sparkle! I loved that even the lights around the kitty from our Newton's Holiday Mischief set were sparkly! Check our her blog, Stamp and Glitter - to see more photos of this fun shaker card! 

Here is a pretty card by Tatiana using our Newton's Holiday Mischief set. She added pretty sparkles on the hat and collar of the kitty - plus lots of sparkly sequins! Love the coloring on that kitty too!

Newton's Nook Designs is Sponsoring the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!

Have you heard of the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge? When I first noticed this challenge blog I thought the idea was adorable and just knew we had to sponsor a challenge! For each challenge they post a YUMMY cupcake photo and color combo for inspiration! Everybody likes cupcakes, right?

The current challenge going up today features this yummy image:

We're sponsoring this challenge so If you head over to their blog and play along you have a chance to win a $20 store credit to our store at newtonsnookdesigns.com! How awesome is that?

Of course I had to play along -- here's the card I created with this yummy chocolate and orange color combo. I used our favorite kitty, Newton, from our Newton's Holiday Mischief set. I colored him orange with a two toned brown scarf using distress markers and a water brush on watercolor paper. Then I added the "grateful" sentiment from our Falling into Autumn set. I also used some leaves from the Falling into Autumn set to create a fun background on some orange textured cardstock.

To finish off the design I added some "woodgrain" sequins (LOVE these) - and some orange and white ones along with a bit of patterned paper and some gold and cream bakers twine! I love this cozy fall card!

Heartfelt Thanks Fall Shaker Tag by Larissa Heskett

Gorgeous Fall Shaker Tag! 

Today I'm sharing this beautiful shaker tag by Larissa Heskett. She used a combo of stamp sets to make this awesome tag. The little pumpkin is from our Love à la Carte set and made it the focal point of her shaker. She also used the "heartfelt" and "thanks" from the Simply Sentimental set. Isn't that gold embossing on the word heartfelt just awesome? Then she took the leaves from our Falling into Autumn set and stamped them and cut them out and added glitter --- this is SO PRETTY!  I just love the mixture of sparkle and shine  with the fun burlap bow too! It has so much fun detail. Here's a close-up of the shaker:
