Birthday Card with Partial Die Cutting by Farhana Sarker

Birthday Card with Partial Die Cutting by Farhana Sarker | Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set, Clouds Stencil and Birthday Roundabout Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Sky High Birthday Wishes!

Today Farhana is sharing a how to create a fun birthday card using our Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set and Petite Clouds Stencil

She started with a white card front panel and stamped the image from the Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set close to the right edge of the card. Then she lined up the coordinating die, cutting only one side of the image. She then cut the remaining part of the front of the card to detach the negative space above and below the image. The image was then colored with copic markers. She also added the Happy Birthday sentiment using the Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set

On the inside of the card she stenciled an edge of clouds using our Petite Clouds Stencil with blue ink and added the sentiment from the Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set into the center.

When the card is closed you can see the cards from the inside!

Easter Tulip Card by Donna Idlet | Tulips Stamp Set, Spring Blooms Paper Pad and Oval Frames Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Tulips for Easter

It's tulip season and today Donna is inspiring us with a gorgeous tulip card featuring our Tulips Stamp Set and Spring Blooms Paper Pad

She colored the pretty bundle of tulips using alcohol markers in shades of pink, purple and yellow to match the tulips on the page of paper from our  Spring Blooms Paper Pad. She layered the tulip image over an oval (using our Oval Frames Die Set) and then added the paper below that.

Rainbow Coffee Card by Samantha Mann

Rainbow Coffee Card by Samantha Mann | Coffee Delights Stamp Set and Mugs Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

A Rainbow of Coffees

If you can't decide what colors to use on your card, why not try the whole rainbow? Samantha created this beautiful card with a rainbow of colors and a coffee theme featuring our Coffee Delights Stamp Set and Mugs Stencil.

For the beautiful mug background she inked the coffee mugs on our Mugs Stencil with a rainbow of distress inks. Then she removed the stencil and inked the same colors over the top of the stenciled image, using a very light pressure so she didn't cover the stenciled images completely. Once the stenciling was complete, she addd water splatters and paint splatters to add texture to the background panel.

Next, she colored the row of cups from our Coffee Delights Die Set in a rainbow of colors using watercolor markers. So gorgeous! She cut the image out and then cut another another layer behind it, hand cutting it from vellum to give it an extra shadow.

Last, she embossed the sentiments in white on black cardstock and added them above and below her image.

Simple Sparkly Shaker Card by Farhana Sarker

Simple Sparkly Shaker Card by Farhana Sarker | Daises Die Set and Hyacinth Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

A Simple Sparkly Shaker Card!

Today Farhana is sharing a how to create a fun and simple shaker card using our Daisies Die Set!

She started with a white card front panel and cut out two rows of daisy silhouettes using our Daisies Die Set. She also cut out black daisy centers and set them aside. She stamped the sentiment from the Hyacinth Stamp Set in the corner of the bottom white panel.

Next, she took a second card panel and inked it with shades of pink and orange to layer behind the daisies.

In between the two layers, she created a flat shaker pocket using a piece of thin plastic, leftover from a product packaging. Inside the pocket she added glitter that sparkles when the recipient shakes the card. The white panels were adhered on top of the glitter pocket and she glued on the black daisy centers too.

A bonus of this technique is that the thin pocket and glitter only shaker make this card light, flat and easy to mail!

We hope you enjoyed this fun way to create a simple shaker card with recycled materials and glitter!

Hyacinth Thank You Card by Special Guest Brennan Keane

Today we a special guest post to share. We are featuring more inspiring work from the talented young Brennan Keane

Newton's Nook Designs | Special Guest

Hi everyone! If you don’t know me, my name is Brennan Keane, and I’m a floral-obsessed seventeen-year-old teenage boy cardmaker (which is definitely a mouthful). Newton’s Nook Designs was the first company I ever designed for, so I’m beyond excited to be back as a guest designer!

Hyacinth Thank You Card by Special Guest Brennan Keane | Hyacinth Stamp Set and Cherry Blossoms Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

For today’s card, I’m working with the brand-new Hyacinth Stamp Set. I stamped three of these gorgeous florals and colored them up with Copics. For the flowers, I used V17, V15, and V12, with V09 for the centers. For the leaves and stems, I went with YG17, G24, and G21.

Next up is the background! I kept it super simple with some soft ink blending, using the leftover blue and green ink on my blending brushes to mimic the sky and ground.

I used the coordinating Hyacinth Die to cut out the flowers and popped them up with a little foam tape for dimension. For the sentiment, I chose “thank you,” which is also included in the Hyacinth Stamp Set.

Instead of just gluing the card front onto a plain white base, I stepped it up by using a deep aqua cardstock and doing some tone-on-tone stamping with the Cherry Blossoms Stamp. It’s a subtle detail, but I love the extra depth it adds!

Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my post. I absolutely love guest designing for Newton’s Nook and am so grateful to be asked back. Huge thanks to Jen for another opportunity!

Hope you all have an amazing day and happy crafting!
