Michelle Short

Hello there, my name is Michelle I live in London, UK. I am a part-time nurse, part-time crafter. I have been crafting for over 10 years now and I still absolutely love it! My style is very clean and simple. I love colouring, cute critters and white space on my cards, but I have been getting a little bit more inky recently and really been enjoying that too. I love Newton’s Nook designs and I am delighted to be taking part in the Deck the Halls with Inky Paws week.

Here's what Michelle created!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 4 - Michelle Short | Snowfall Stencil and Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Michelle created two amazing sparkly snow cards featuring our Snowfall Stencil with the Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set! For the first card she created a background using shades of blue distress ink with the Snowfall Stencil. Then she kept the stencil in place and layered transparent glitter paste over the top! The added sparkle really makes this card feel special! To finish it off she stamp the sentiment "May your holidays sparkle with joy and happiness!" from the Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set. That sentiment goes so perfectly with the sparkle on the card!

She also created this same layout using a pink/orange/yellow color combo!

It's so fun to mix it up just by changing the colors! Both color combos are so pretty I can't decide which one I like better! How about you?

Yoonsun Hur

Hello crafty friends! I'm Yoonsun Hur a South Korean-born Australian and I currently live in Sydney with my husband. I am still learning and enjoying true Australian culture.

I love being creative!! I really love making cards with various and awesome stuff such as stamps, inks, die cuts, paper and many more. I have been working as a Graphic designer since 2000 and this career has helped me in many ways when designing cards. I endlessly want to make various attempts and share my creativity with you.

Here's what Yoonsun created!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws - Day 3 - Yoonsun Hur | Holiday Foliage Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Today Yoonsun is sharing two ways to create beautiful stenciled  cards featuring our Holiday Foliage Stencil. For the first card she used different colored inks on the stencil to create a fun multicolored background! She distressed the edges a bit and then added the "tis the season" sentiment from the Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set in black over the top.  She also added on a couple teeny tiny snowflakes that she cut out using the snowflake die from the Snow Globe Shaker Die Set

For her second card, Yoonsun also used the Holiday Foliage Stencil. This time she used white embossing paste on kraft colored cardstock to create a panel for her card. She added some pretty gold sequins and layered the "tis the season" sentiment from the Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set in white on a little piece of red cardstock over the top.

On the white card base, she also stamped a bunch of the images from the Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set to create a fun background. The plaid ribbon and Christmas bells give this card such a festive finishing touch!

Kay Miller

Hi my name is Kay Miller and I am thrilled to be guesting with Newton’s Nook today! I have been stamping and card making for over 20 years now, and still love it as much as the day I first discovered it. I am married with two teenagers, five dogs ( yes five!) and one outnumbered cat. When I am not making cards ( which is most of the time) I enjoy creating ornaments with Polymer clay, taking long walks with the dogs and hanging with my kids.

Here's what Kay created!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 2 - Kay Miller | All Aboard for Christmas Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
Kay created this adorable Holiday train card featuring our All Aboard for Christmas Stamp Set! She colored the train image with Santa and two carts and filled them with the reindeer and fox images! The bright colors she used are so gorgeous! I love the pop of bright teal mixed with the traditional red and green! She also added fun little white accents to the images with a gel pen to add a bit of extra detail. Then she put them all together on the card with a beautiful teal sky and snowy hill. She also finished it off the the "wishing choo choo a Merry Christmas" sentiment in a black banner

Hello!  My name is Amy Tsuruta and I've been blogging at Tsuruta Designs since 2007. I live in the beautiful state of Washington and work part-time for a Seattle biotech company.  If you know me, I love coffee, crafting + the color green. So excited to be part of the 2017 Deck the Halls with Inky Paws!

Here's what Amy created!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Amy Tsuruta | Starbucks Gift Card holders using Cup of Cocoa Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Amy created a whole set of beautiful gift card holders today featuring our Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set and Holiday Foliage Stencil! She created gorgeous background panels by inking the Holiday Foliage Stencil over some newsprint paper in brown for one set of cards and in black for the other set (perfect coffee and cocoa colors). Then she layered vellum envelopes over the top to hold some Starbucks gift cards! She dressed up the envelopes using some of the cute mugs from the Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set. She colored the mugs in fun shades of red and green and trimmed them out with the coordinating Cup of Cocoa Die Set to add them to her cards. The fun cocoa themed sentiments are also from the Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set and add the perfect finishing touch!

Which color combo do you like better? The black stenciled background with the green mugs?

Or the brown stenciled background with the red mugs? I can't decide because both look so great!

Naughty or Nice?

Don't you mean "purr-fect"!? This adorable Santa kitty card by Amanda is perfect for sending cute Holiday wishes. She used the kitty reading his "naughty or nice" list from our Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set! She colored the image in beautiful rich colors and then trimmed it out using the Santa Paws Newton Die Set. She added it to her card with the funny sentiment, layering it over fun music themed papers! So pretty! This card would be great to send anyone on your list who has been extra nice this year!

Here Comes Santa Paws Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Here Comes Santa Paws Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Santa Paws Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Santa Paws!

Today Tatiana is sharing a Holiday card in pretty pastels! She used the kitty dressed as Santa with a sack of gifts from our Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set and colored him in such pretty soft pastel colors! Isn't that pink Santa suit adorable!? Then she cut out the kitty and mouse using the coordinating Santa Paws Newton Die Set to cut them out. She added them to a fun tag that she had cut out using the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. This tag set is super cool because you can customize your tags with different edges. She added the fun little scalloped border onto the tag for this card. She also added a little snowy hill using the Land Borders Die Set. For the background she used our Snowfall Stencil with shades of blue, purple and pink inks! So sweet and pretty!

To see more details on her project today and more of her beautiful creations you can visit Tatiana at Tatiana Craft and Art!

Snowman Jar Card by Naki Rager

Snowman Jar Card by Naki Rager | Snow Globe Scenes and Lovely Blooms Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Snowy Jar Holiday Card

Today Naki is sharing how to combine several stamp sets to create something unique! She stamped the cute little mason jar from our Lovely Blooms Stamp Set in gray and then she stamped the tiny snowman and tree from the  Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set inside the jar! What a cute idea! She also added some fun dimensional snow! Then she added a tiny round tag using our Tags Times Two Die Set, tied around the jar. This cute little image was added to her card over a scalloped panel that she cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She also added some fun texture onto that panel using the Starfield Stencil with embossing paste and orange and yellow inks! She finished off the card with the "May your holidays sparkle with joy & happiness" sentiment from the Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set! What a great way to combine a ton of fun products on one amazing card!
