Spooky Halloween Wishes!
Today we are sharing this splendidly spooky card by Diane!
This card features:
Hello Newton’s Nook Fans!
On the Blog today with way to conquer the die cut dilemma of what to do.
We all love die cuts, so many cute shapes.
Sometimes we draw a blank on how to use them.
Two words to remember: dimension and flair.
For the dimension part I used
2 – die cuts of the Haunted House Die Set with purple cardstock
2- ½ x 3-inch strips of bright yellow cardstock.
Flip one of the Haunted House cuts over. Use the yellow strips of cardstock to cover the windows.
It is ok if you go over the edge of the house you can always trim those bits off.
To give your die cut dimension glue the second house to the front of the first.
Now the windows look set back and die cut has some thickness.
To add some FLAIR to this die cut we are going to use V09 Copic makers
along with a ruler and add color to where the “roof” would be.
Using the V15 Copic marking to add details to the railings.
Now your Haunted House has dimensions and flair!
To finish this card I used the Halloween Basics Paper Pad and
Arched Frames Die Set to make my card base and card front.
Using the Spooky Sky Die Set to create a cloud and spooky moon.
To add flair to these items I used a cool gray Copic marker to add shadows to the bottom of the cloud.
I used Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz on my moon to give the moon a shiny glow.
I made sure to use foam tape on the back of the HauHaunted House before adding to the front of my card.
A bit more dimension for my card.
Check around your craft space and see what you can use to give you die cuts that extra something.
Paint, Colored Pencils, glitter, whatever you have.
It is a simple card, but adding all the extras takes this card over the top
Hope this inspires you to jazz up your die cuts.
