BYSHC is FALL-ing for the Holidays!
Hello! Jen here I'm excited to share that Newton's Nook Designs is sponsoring the BYSHC Falling for the Holidays Linky Party! Have you heard of the BYSHC challenge? It stands for "Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers" and they have challenges all year long to encourage everyone to work on Holiday cards! I don't know about you, but I think this is such a GREAT idea because I am always down to the wire on Holiday cards! Even though I own a stamp company and make cards all year I never seem to start early enough on Christmas cards!
Besides their regular monthly challenges, the BYSHC crew has seasonal linky parties and we are happy to sponsor their fall party! All you have to do to play along is create a card with a holiday/winter theme and link it up! Here is the link to the post with the link up and all the details: Falling for the Holidays 2025 Linky Party
So, today I am getting a jump start on my cards and have created a Christmas card featuring products from our NEW Christmas Release.
Here's a look at my card:
I also used the previously released A2 Card Layout 2 Die
To create this card I started by stamping and coloring all those cute little dog images from our Christmas Time Dogs Stamp Set. I used watercolor markers to color the dogs and I just love how they turned out! Once they were colored I used the coordinating Christmas Time Dogs Die Set to trim them out. I decided to use our A2 Card Layout 2 Die for my card because it has lots of little windows that I knew the dogs would fit perfectly into. I cut out the shape using white and pink cardstock. I was also playing with our new 'Tis the Season Toner Card Fronts and had just foiled the peppermint striped panel with red foil and was dying to use it so I cut that out using the same die set and used the fun foiled image to fit into the two rectangular windows! So pretty!
I layered the dogs over 3 of the windows, leaving the upper right window open for a sentiment. I had a hard time choosing which message to use. There are some REALLY cute sentiments in the Christmas Time Dogs Stamp Set but they were kind of small and I wanted something that would pop off in front of the peppermint stripes. So I chose to use the word "merry" from the new Merriest Christmas Die Set. Then I layered the word over a vellum tag that I cut out using our new Essential Tags Die Set. For the bow I cheated and I tied and trimmed a bow and then just glued the bow over the hole in the tag instead of tying it through the hole (shhh, don't tell!).
I absolutely adore how this turned out! I love the shimmer that the foil adds to it. Plus the watercolored pups and the vellum tag give the card all sorts of different textures!
I hope you enjoyed this card! I hope you will play along with the Falling for the Holidays 2025 Linky Party. Don't forget, a winner will get a gift card to spend in the Newton's Nook Designs shop!
AND, I did want to quickly mention that we are having a SALE in our shop this week so if you like any of the products I used today you can get them now for 15% off with code MERRY (ends Oct 24)
Thank you for joining me today! I hope you have a wonderful crafty weekend and good luck on getting started on Christmas cards!
