Happy Birthday on the Farm!

Today Ellen has created an amazing Happy Birthday card with a farm scene that uses several NND stamp sets together!

She started by creating a slimline card base using our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to create a long card with a scalloped edge. This long format is perfect for creating scenes! Next, she stamped and colored farm themed images to add to her scene. She used the cow and barn from our Moo Stamp Set, coloring them in shades of brown and cutting them out with the coordinating Moo Die Set. The cute goat is from our Bleat Stamp Set and was colored so beautifully with extra dot details! She cut the goad out using the coordinating Bleat Die Set. For the Horse, she used the image of the horse looking over his shoulder from our Neigh Stamp Set. Again, she colored the image beautifully and cut it out with the coordinating Neigh Die Set. Last, she added in a couple of little chicks using the image from our Newton's Easter Basket Stamp Set.

To create the scene she used our Land Borders Die Set for the hill and the grassy edge, adding on distress inks and splatter for textures. The Happy Birthday sentiment was created by combining a die cut "Happy" using our Holiday Greetings Die Set with the word Birthday from the Bleat Stamp Set. So cute!

Isn't it fun how you can mix and match these farm sets together? You can find them all and a few more in our Farm Category here!

Tips on creating this card

Below we have some tips from Ellen on how this card was created:

How to create a longer die cut border:

You can make your border dies longer by matching the end with each other. Match the piece of paper that’s already cut with the beginning of the dies. Then you cut it again.

How to create a card base with a die cut shape:

  1. (left photo) fold your cardstock in half using a bone folder.
  2. (center photo) Cut out your panel with the same die you used for your card front. Pay attention you do not cut all the way up to your fold. This makes it possible to have a shaped card.
  3. (right photo) Glue your card front on top of your card base. They match perfectly because you used the same die for it.
