Feeling Slothy Card by Amy Tsuruta

Feeling Slothy Card by Amy Tsuruta| Slothy Christmas Stamp Set, Mugs Stencil and Frame Die Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Feeling Slothy?

With holiday season just around the corner it's easy to get overwhelmed. If you are feeling a bit slothy about that to do list, a little coffee might help! Today we have the perfect card to inspire you by Amy!  This card features that cute sleepy sloth from our Slothy Coffee Stamp Set! She added on a mug of coffee too, stamping it from our Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set. So fun! She colored the images in neutral shades, adding pastel purple and mint for a lovely soft color palette. She cut the image out using the coordinating Slothy Christmas Die Set to layer onto her card.

For the card base she created layers of purple and mint using our Framework Die Set. On the inner scalloped layer she also added a coffee cup pattern using our Mugs Stencil. Doesn't it go perfectly with the theme? Behind the sloth she added a vellum scalloped circle, cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set and on top she added the sentiment, stamped onto a shape that was cut out with our Ornament Shaker Die Set. Isn't it fun how this ornament shape doubles as a speech bubble!?

Purr-fect Christmas Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben

Hello friends! It's Ashley back with a new guest post for Newton's Nook Designs today! Newton's Nook has some of the cutest Christmas stamps, so I couldn't resist putting together a little Christmas kitty scene!

Purr-fect Christmas Card by Guest Designer Ashley Ebben | Newton's Curious Christmas, Santa Paws Newton, & Purr-fect Present Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

I started by blending a Distress Oxide background on white cardstock. I used Mustard Seed, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet, and Chipped Sapphire to create a glowy look. I was hoping for a bit of a fire lit feel for a Christmas tree scene. I splattered the background with white paint and some liquid shimmer for lots of holiday sparkle. For the floor, I added a strip of brown woodgrain patterned paper to look like hardwood. I then attached the background to a black card base, leaving a small space around the edges to act as a frame.

I stamped images from Newton's Curious Christmas, Purr-fect Present, and Santa Paws Newton in Copic friendly black ink and colored. I decided to make them all look like my ragdoll kitty Gavin this week. He is the cutest cat in the world in my completely unbiased opinion. Plus, he definitely climbed a Christmas tree or two in his younger years! I fussy cut all of the images out then added a few highlights with white gel pen and some sparkly details to the presents and tree with a glitter gel pen. I glued the Christmas tree to the background, then popped the Santa and present up with foam tape. I finished with a sentiment from Santa Paws Newton stamped with VersaMark ink on black cardstock and embossed with white. I popped the sentiment up with some foam tape too!

Here's what I created:

Cup of Cheer card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Coffee and Cup of Cocoa Stamp Sets and Argyle Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
Today I decided to create a holiday themed coffee card using a combination of stamp sets. I started out with the kitty hugging the travel mug of coffee from our Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set. Then I stamped decorative snowman, polka-dot and cat mugs from our Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set. I colored all the images using inktense watercolor pencils, and a paintbrush with water. After they were colored I cut the images out using the coordinating Newton Loves Coffee Die Set and Cup of Cocoa Die Set

For the card background, I used our Argyle Stencil Set to make fun red and green argyle pattern. This stencil includes two pieces that have etching that you can line up so making a two color pattern is really easy! For the diamonds I used green distress ink on kraft cardstock using the first stencil. Then I used red ink with the second stencil to create the stitching. I cut the panel out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge. Then I simply assembled all the pieces, adding a panel of white behind the kitty and mugs to help them pop off the card. The finishing touch was the sentiment "Have a cup of cheer" which I embossed in white onto a black banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. I love how this banner has crease lines so that you can pop it up in the center!  I bit of white bakers twine and the card is done!

I absolutely adore how this turned out! I love how you can combine a non-holiday image with some holiday ones to easily create a holiday card!

Here Comes Santa Claus Card by Andrea Shell

Here Comes Santa Claus Card by Andrea Shell | Dear Santa and Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Sets and various Die Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Here Comes Santa Claus!

Get ready for Santa's visit with this amazing card by Andrea! She created a fun scene for Santa delivering a pile of gifts using our Dear Santa Stamp Set. She colored the image of Santa with gifts piled high and cut it out with the coordinating Dear Santa Die Set to add to her scene. To create the scene she added a little row of houses in the background and some trees using our Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set. Behind the houses she inked up a blue sky and below them she added snowbanks by cutting hills from white with our Land Borders Die Set. Above the houses she added the sentiment "Here comes Santa Claus" from our Dear Santa Stamp Set onto a bubble that was cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set

The whole scene was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge. She also added the word "believe" along the bottom, cut out using the bonus words from our Main Street Christmas Die Set. What a wonderful scene for Santa!

Santa Tags for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags

25 days of Christmas Tags | 2018
Today we are excited to be part of the 10th Annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags with Tracey McNeely. Today is only Day 3 of this awesome feature so make sure you visit her blog each day to see all 25 days! Today she's featuring the Newton's Nook Design Team on her blog so make sure you head over there to see some more beautiful tags using NND products!

I created a fun set of Santa themed tags to play along! Here's what I created:
Santa Tags by Jennifer Jackson | Dear Santa Stamp Set, Tiny Trees Stencil and Fancy Edges Tag Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
I started out by stamping two of the images from our Dear Santa Stamp Set. I colored both of the images using copics and then cut them out using the coordinating Dear Santa Die Set

Next, I created a duo of tags using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. This die set is super fun because it includes little mini border dies that you can use to make custom tag shapes. I cut two tags from kraft paper. I wanted to make my tags a little longer to make room for the Santa and the sentiment. To do this, I just cut my white paper the same width as the tag layered it over the bottom. I also used our Land Borders Die Set along the top of the white paper to add the curved snowy hill shape.  I then stamped the sentiments onto the white snowy layer. Along the bottom I added a red scalloped edge using the scalloped border from the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set

For the top of the tag, I used our Tiny Trees Stencil with white texture paste on green paper to make a textured tree background. From this background I cut two tag toppers using the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. I love how the green ties in with Santa's mittens! I also created the red tag reinforcement shape round the hole using the same die set. A bit of black and white ribbon finishes the tags!

Holiday Belly Rubs card by Zsofia Molnar

Holiday Belly Rubs card by Zsofia Molnar | A Kitten Christmas Stamp Set, Christmas Puppies Stamp Set and Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs

Peace, Love & Belly Rubs!

Are you a cat person or a dog person? Either way, you will find something to love on this holiday card by Zsofia! She combined the kitten tangled in lights from our A Kitten Christmas Stamp Set with the puppy tangled in lights from our Christmas Puppies Stamp Set. These images pair so well together! She did an amazing job coloring both images and cut them out using the coordinating A Kitten Christmas Die Set and Christmas Puppies Die Set. Then she added them to a slimline card. She used our Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set to create the stitched frames and the green banner. The sentiment from the Christmas Puppies Stamp Set and the little holly from the A Kitten Christmas Stamp Set tie it all together!

Here are a couple of close-ups so you can see the lovely coloring. She also added shiny gloss to the lightbulbs!

Happy Holiday Note Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben

Today we are welcoming our November Guest Designer, Ashley Ebben! We fell in love with her work on instagram where she has been sharing adorable cards filled with cute critters and fun settings! We can't wait to share what she creates using our products this month! Check back each Monday to see her creations! Keep reading to find out more about her today and to check out her first project below.
Newton's Nook Designs - November Guest Designer, Ashley Ebben
Hi there! My name is Ashley Ebben, and I live near St. Louis, Missouri with my husband, daughter, our two dogs and sassy ragdoll cat. I’m a stay-at-home mom to my three year old daughter who is just the best, toddler tantrums not withstanding ;) Naptime is my craft time! I started as a scrapbooker, but I am terrible at remembering to take and print pictures, so a few years ago I gave cardmaking a try and was instantly hooked. I especially adore ink blending – turning a white piece of cardstock into a colorful background is simply magical to me. I am so happy to be joining Newton's Nook this month and look forward to sharing my creations using their adorable animals with you all!

Hello everyone! I am so happy to be sharing my first card with you as a guest designer for Newton's Nook! I decided to use my absolute favorite stamp from the new release - Holiday Post! I just love how
cute Newton looks standing on top of his doggy friend to send some happy mail!

Happy Holiday Note Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben | Holiday Post Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I started by stamping the main image from Holiday Post in Copic friendly black ink onto white cardstock. I also stamped a little mouse from Santa Paws Newton. I thought he fit perfectly with the Holiday Post scene, and I just can't resist mixing stamp sets together! I colored both images with Copic markers then fussy cut them out.

For the background, I die cut a stitched circle from white cardstock and blended a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide on the bottom. I stamped the snowflakes from Holiday Post in light gray ink, then adhered the circle to some light blue cardstock. I cut the whole piece with a stitched rectangle die, cutting off one side of the circle to make a semicircle backdrop for my image. Then I added the rectangle to a base of plaid patterned paper that matched my inking.

I attached my colored images to the card with foam tape for dimension, then stamped a sentiment from Holiday Post in black ink. To finish, I added some snowflake shaped sequins and iridescent gems around the card for a bit of sparkle and extra interest.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Check back next Monday for my next guest post! Have a wonderful day!
