Hello Birdie Card by Larissa Heskett

Hello Birdie Card by Larissa Heskett using Winged Wishes and Tweet Talk stamps by Newton's Nook Designs

Another super fun card  by Larissa today

Today I get to share this super sweet card by Design Team Member Larissa Heskett!  She created this card using the birdhouse from one of our newest stamp sets, Tweet Talk and combined it with the little hello sentiment and birdies from the Winged Wishes set! Isn't it cute how that bird house hangs right from the letter "o"? So fun! Plus I just LOVE woodgrain on cards too!

Thanks so much Larissa! Please make sure to head over to Larissa's blog, Larissa Heskett Designs and say hello to her today too!

New Guest Designers for our March Release!

Are you ready to meet our March Guest Designers?

We will be starting sneak peeks for ourMarch release next week and have two special guests joining us for this release - Michelle Lupton and Katie Brooks!

Here's some more about our two fabulous guest designers in their own words - Make sure to check out their blogs and say hello to them!

Michelle Lupton
Handmade by Michelle

Hello, crafty people! My name is Michelle Lupton and I live in Melbourne Australia. I've been cardmaking for quite a while now, but only really got serious about it when I started my blog 3 years ago, and then started entering online challenges and taking online classes.  When I'm not making cards, I work as a university Biology tutor and as a Science Education Officer.  I also sing in a number of different choirs, and am in a bookclub.  I am so excited to have been invited to join in with this new release at Newton's Nook - such fun stamps to play with!

Katie Brooks
KB Stamps

Hiya!  I'm from Seattle & have had a love for arts/crafts all of my life, something passed to me by my parents (dad draws and does photography & mom makes amazing quilts).  I've tried so many things, but making cards is my fave as I can easily share it with those I love!  I really enjoy coloring cute images and Newton's Nook stamps are perfect for that!  I am THRILLED to be a Guest Designer here this month and am extremely grateful to Jennifer for allowing me to do so!

I am so excited for to have these two ladies join us for the next few weeks! I've seen a few sneak peeks from them and I can't wait to share what they create!  They will be helping us with our three new March sets starting next week!

Two Tweet Bird Cards!

Have a Tweet Day!!

I admit - I'm feeling a bit of spring fever. I'm so glad it's March - It's been such a cold yucky winter and I can't wait for it to be spring. In anticipation of spring today I 'm share a couple fun cards I made using the new mini 3 x4 stamp set, Tweet Talk!  Here's the set - Isn't it adorable?

And here is the first card I made - Did you know that funny little stamp that looks like a weird shaped "o" is for making a loop to hang the houses from the branch? See how cute that is?

Sometime's when I'm on a roll with a color palette I'll make a couple of cards that use the same paper/colors - and that's what happened here. I started out by stamping some images on watercolor paper using archival ink (waterproof) and then colored the images with Distress Markers and a water brush.  I chose a color palette of melon, yellow, green and blue and then found some paper and sequins that matched!  For the first card I created a scene with one little birdie on a branch.

For the second card I created a similar scene but this time instead of one bird, I chose to use two (Isn't it fun how this set has two little birds that can face each other?) Then I stamped a house for them and used the "you're tweet" sentiment.

I added on some burlap and a doily along with the patterned paper and sequins for this one! I really love how these two cards turned out!

Doesn't this make you ready for spring? I can't wait to open the windows and hear the birds singing!

Green Kitty Card by Crafty Math-Chick!

Green Kitty Card by Crafty Math-Chic using Newton's Nook Designs Stamps

Going Green again today!

Does it feel like spring yet where you live? It's still cold and snowy in Wisconsin but I'm hoping that our "go green" challenge is inspiring everyone to think spring!

Today I'm sharing another fun green card! This one by our Design Team member, Crafty Math-Chick uses two of our favorite kitty sets  -  the kitty with the scarf is from Newton's Holiday Mischief and the paw prints are from Newton's Antics! She embossed the paw prints and did a fun resist technique to make the two toned green background! Isn't that pretty? To learn more about this card  head over to Crafty Math Chick's blog, Canines and Card Designs and say hello!

Note: you may notice that the Newton's Holiday Mischief set is currently sold out. We have re-ordered it and should have it back in stock very soon! We will post a note on the blog as soon as it becomes available!
