Baby Congratulations Card by Amanda Wilcox

Baby Laundry Card!

Today Amanda has created an adorable card to celebrate a new baby featuring several fun products together. The star of the show on her card is the adorable bear bib from our Bitty Bibs Stamp Set. She colored the image with fun bright pastels and gave the bear a shiny nose! Then she used the Baby Bibs Die Set and to add the fun scalloped edge behind the image and the bow! 

For her adorable card background she layered two stencils. First she used our Serene Stripes Stencil to add a layer of blue stripes. Then she layered fuzzy clouds over the top using our Cloudy Sky Stencil with some flocking! How fun! The whole patterned panel was cut out using the Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a scalloped edge. 

Then, she put all the pieces together and included a fun yellow frame around the bib that was cut out using our Framework Die Set. She used the same die set to cut the ticket shape that holds the sentiment.

Candy Corn Counts as a Vegetable Card by Maria Russell

Bring on the Candy Corn!

Today we have a fun Halloween card by Maria that is perfect for anyone who loves candy corn! 

She starts out by creating a fun candy corn background using our three piece Candy Corn Stencil Set. This fun layering stencil makes it easy to use multiple colors as each layer has etching of the previous layer for easy of alignment! 

Next, she created a fun tag using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She added fun zig zagged layers on the bottom with the included mini border pieces included in this die set. She added stamped candy corn and the sentiment using our Candy Corn Stamp Set and coordinating Candy Corn Die Set. So fun!

Meow's the Time to Celebrate Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Kitty Birthday Card!

Today Ellen has created a fun kitty themed birthday card that is purr-fect for any cat lover! 

She stamped the image of the kitty on the giant cupcake from our Newton's Cupcake Stamp Set. She colored the image of the cupcake and some cherries in fun bright colors and added fun details to the fur and cupcake liner. She even added some glitter to the cupcake frosting to make it look extra yummy! She cut the images out using the coordinating Newton's Cupcake Die Set. She layered the images over a circle that was cut using our Circle Frames Die Set. She also added in the sentiments on banners, cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. 

For the background the used our Plaid Stencil Set to create a colorful pink and yellow plaid and framed the panel using a scalloped edge using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Below we have some instructions from Ellen on how to create this card.

1. (left photo) First I colored the image from the Newton's Cupcake Stamp Set with copic markers:
   • Cupcake: R22, R32, RV21, RV00
   • Cupcake Wrapper: YR07, YR15, Y35, Y15
   • Hat: RV09, RV04, RV63, RV23 + BG15, BG11, BG10
   • Cherry: G19, G05, YG07, YG01 + R39, R37,R35
   • Cat: W07, W05, W04, W02, W01
2. (center photo) I did cut out the largest frame on the Frames & Flags Die Set and cut a circle out of colored velum using the Circle Frames Die Set. I used the Plaid Stencil Set to make a pattern. I only used one of the layers twice (with an other color) instead of 1 time.
   • Milled Lavender Distress Ink, Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink, Picked Raspberry
3. (right photo) As last step I snipped the sentiment in two parts and stamped it on two banners with white embossing powder. The biggest is from the Banner Trio Die Set.

Hello Fall Card by September Guest Designer Priscilla Joseph

Today we are introducing our Guest Designer for September, Priscilla Joseph! We have been enjoying her creative cards using our stamps on instagram and in entries to our inky paws challenges. We are super excited to share what she creates for us this month! Priscilla will be back each Monday for the month of September with a new projects! I’m a New England girl who now lives in the Chicago area, where I have enjoyed a 15-year middle school teaching career. Recently retired, I can now pursue my passion for card making full-time, with a lot of “house purging” sprinkled in on the side in hopes of moving to Southern California next year!
Before attending my first “stamping party” one evening in 2002, I never realized that the world of stamps, inks, and cards even existed! I was hooked immediately!

When I am designing my cards, I always try to direct my creatives juices in a direction I have not seen done yet. I’m not sure if I could categorize my “style” . . . some cards are clean & simple; others a little more bold and busy.

Hello Crafty Friends!
I am thrilled to be the Guest Designer for Newton's Nook Designs for the month of September! I have been a HUGE fan of this company’s stamps, stencils, and dies for many years; so of course, I am excited for this opportunity to be sharing with you a weekly card project. Every Monday this month, I will be showcasing some of the new products Newton’s Nook just introduced for the fall season.

For my first post, I created an autumn-themed card featuring the new stamp set, Fall Friends Stamp Set. This 4x4 stamp set features a sweet dog and cat duo, enjoying a nap on the porch with a rocking chair and decorations for autumn . . . perfect for creating cards for friends and family this fall! This set also has a coordinating die, Fall Friends Die Set.

Lately, I have been obsessed with double layer stenciling using Distress Oxide inks. Today’s card is no exception . . . I used a grid stencil from my stash and the Pumpkin Patch Stencil to create what resulted in a 3D-like background. I loved how it turned out! 

  

Card Details:

• I blended “Fossilized Amber,” “Rusty Hinge,” and “Vintage Photo” inks over a grid stencil onto a 4”x 5.25” piece of white card stock.
• After this layer dried, I used the same three inks to blend again over the Pumpkin Patch Stencil.
• I sponged “Vintage Photo” on again to give a finished look to the four edges.
• I colored the adorable scene of the napping dog and cat with alcohol markers from the Fall Friends Stamp Set. I used the coordinating Fall Friends Die Set to cut it out, then adhered it to the stenciled background layer.
• My sentiment “Hello Fall” was white heat embossed on navy card stock, die cut, and foam mounted above my scene.
• I framed the finished layer using the same navy card stock and then adhered it to a A2 card base.

Glow in the Dark Halloween Card by Larissa Heskett

A Spooky Halloween Greeting! 

Today we are sharing a super fun card by Larissa that uses some fun techniques, including glow-in the dark embossing.

For the fun background she used our Ghosts Stencil along with some white flock to create a fun spooky sky. After the flocking was applied she also added some yellow distress ink over parts of the ghosts to add to the spooky feeling! She framed this panel with a fun postage edged frame that was covered in lime green foil and cut out using our Framework Die Set. 

For the sentiment in the center she used a sentiment from our retiring Creepy Cameos Stamp Set, embossing it with glow in the dark embossing powder! Here is a close up of how it looks in the dark:

She layered the sentient over the ornate frame image from the Creepy Cameos Stamp Set, which was embossed with glittery black embossing powder and cut out using the coordinating Creepy Cameos Die Set. Here is a close-up so you can see all the other amazing details!

Cheers, Witches! Card by Maria Russell

Cheers, Witches!

Today we have a fun Halloween card, complete with a spooky scene by Maria! For this card she combines several of our fun Halloween stamp sets together! 

She starts out by stamping the witch holding a broom from our Brooms & Boos Stamp Set and some gravestones and pumpkin treat buckets from our Count Newton Stamp Set. She colored the images with alcohol markers, adding fun details like cracks in the gravestones! The images were cut out using the coordinating Brooms & Boos Die Set and the Count Newton Die Set. She also cut out a gravestone using the die without the stamp and added black ink over the top and added hand drawn cracks using a white gel pen! How fun!

To create her spooky scene she masked off a circle for the moon and then used distress inks in purples and orange to create a fun backdrop. Then she added a spooky tree on the one side using our Spooky Street Stamp Set. She also added bats to the sky and the sentiment "Cheers, Witches!" using the Brooms & Boos Stamp Set. For the bottom of the card, she cut out a hill and grass from black card stock using our Land Borders Die Set and sponged white ink on the edges. These borders make a perfect graveyard scene!

Happy Halloween Kitten Card by Tina Herbeck

Happy Halloween!

Today Tina has created a fun Halloween card that is too cute to be spooky! This card would be perfect to send a friend who likes the sweeter side of Halloween! 

The star of this card is the cute little kitty in a jack-o-lantern from our Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set. Isn't that kitty so cute reaching out of the pumpkin to get some halloween candy? She colored the image with copic markers, adding fun stripes to the kitties fur pattern! The image was cut out using the coordinating Trick or Treat Kittens Die Set. She also stamped a few bats and the moon using the  Brooms & Boos Stamp Set, embossing them with glittery embossing powder in black and clear embossing powders. She cut them both out using the coordinating Brooms & Boos Die Set.

She layered the images over a fun purple inked sky that was created with distress inks! The sky panel was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She added the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set and mounted it over a glittery silver paper panel. So cute!
