Kitties in the Flower Garden!

Hello! Jen here today sharing a fun floral themed kitty friendship card! This cute card features the kitty lying in the bed of flowers from our Newton's Flower Garden Stamp Set. I stamped the image with waterproof ink and then colored the image with watercolor pencils and a water brush. Next, I used the Newton's Flower Garden Die Set to cut the image out. 

For the card background I used our Petite Flowers Stencil to create a fun floral pattern using purple distress ink on top of a light purple paper. I then built my card, layering a strip of blue paper to break up the pattern and adding a circle of scalloped vellum behind the kitty. I also added the sentiment "if friends were flowers, I'd pick you!" from the Newton's Flower Garden Stamp Set onto a yellow circle and placed that next to the kitty image. Both the vellum and yellow circles were die cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. A bit of white bakers twine adds an extra finishing touch. 

This card was so fun to create and it will be perfect for sending a happy hello to a friend this summer!

Newton Loves Coffee Cards by August Guest Designer Meghan Kennihan

Hi Crafty Friends!

 

This is my second Guest Design Post for Newton's Nook Designs. I just adore their main character,  Newton. Today, I'm sharing two cards using the Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set because who doesn't LOVE coffee? I used my favorite Newton's Nook Designs Stencil called Mugs to create one of my backgrounds and the wonderful frames dies to layer on my base.

Friends in Any Weather Card by Larissa Heskett

Friends in Any Weather! 

Today we are sharing a cheerful card by Larissa that is sure to brighten your day! 

She created this gorgeous scene using just our Retro Sun & Palms Stencil Set over a light blue background. This fun stencil set includes two pieces that you can layer. One layer has the sun and the other one includes the palm trees and birds. She started with the sun and applied different colors to all the stripes o create a gorgeous rainbow sunset. The she layered the palm trees and birds over the sun with black ink to create that stunning look! 

She also added the sentiment "Friends in any weather" from our Newton's Rainy Day Trio Stamp Set. Isn't it fun how this works equally well for a rainy day or sunny day theme?

For a finishing touch she added a few sparkly rhinestones! 

This card is perfect for sending summer cheer!

Hello Baby Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Hello Baby Card!

Today Ellen is showing how to create a customized baby card that is perfect for a special baby!

To start out, Ellen die cut a photo of the baby using the balloon shape from our Balloon Shaker Die Set. She used the same die set to cut a balloon shape from acetate, a balloon frame from adhesive foam and a balloon frame from colored paper to create a shaker card. She adhered the foam over the photo then added sequins to the center. Then she added the acetate and colored cardstock frame on top. 

Once the balloon was assembled she used our Essential Alphabet Die Set to cut out letters to spell the baby's name. She added these on top of the balloon along with the word "hello" from the Loveable Laundry Stamp Set. She also added the string with a bow, also from our Balloon Shaker Die Set, cut out of gold cardstock. 

Next, she created a card base to add the shaker shape onto. She was inspired by the parents birth announcement for the baby which included green colors and leaves so she used our Falling Leaves Stencil with green colored inks to create a lovely leaf filled background panel. She also cut out a scallop edged frame using our Frames & Flags Die Set from gray cardstock to frame the stenciled panel.

Shell-ebrate Card by Tina Herbeck

Shell-ebrate!

Today we are sharing a fun beach themed card by Tina that is perfect for any summer celebration!

She starts out by creating an awesome seashell filled background using our Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set. She stamps the big circle image of seashells multiple times, lining it up to fill the space and embosses it in white. The she adds inks over the top using blues along the top and brown tones on the bottom to create a fun land and sea theme! She cuts the panel out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

This fun background is the perfect setting for the image of the kitty listening to the seashell from our Newton's Seashell Stamp Set. She colored the image in neutral colors, adding striped details to the kitty and stippled dots onto the seashell. So pretty! The image was cut out using the coordinating Newton's Seashell Die Set. She adds a banner that says "Shell-ebrate" using the sentiment from the Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set. She embossed it in gold onto a white banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. 

The last amazing detail is a subtle texture on the white background layer. She used our Seashell Stencil and added pressure by sending it through a die cutting machine to achieve this effect. Look closely at the photo above to see it. This panel was also die cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it the stitched and scalloped edge. 

There are so many fun occasions you could use a card like this for. How about a summer birthday, wedding or anniversary? The options are endless!

Treat Yo' Self Card by Zsofia Molnar

Celebrate with Treats!!

Today we have a fun celebratory card by Zsofia that is filled with sweet treats!  To create this fun and tasty card she started by creating a fun background of cupcakes using our new 3 piece Cupcakes Stencil Set. She used two of the stencils from the 3 piece set to create fun gray and white cupcakes over a kraft cardstock panel. This stencil also includes a third piece if you want to add sprinkles and cherries to the cupcakes but it looks great with just the first two stencils too! She cut this panel out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge. 

Next, she used the image of the kitty with a giant ice cream cone from our Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set for her focal image. She colored the kitty in neutral tones and added fun bright pops of pink, mint green and red to the ice cream! She also added a bit of gloss accents. The image was cut out using the coordinating Newton's Summer Treats Die Set. 

She assembled her card, framing the kitty with a circle shape that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. She added a second circle, cut out with the same set using pink paper and added the sentiment from the Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set onto it. She added some hearts too, also cut out using the bonus heart on the Circle Frames Die Set.

She finished the card by adding the sentiment "Time to Celebrate" from the Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set. She stamped this onto a mint colored banner that was cut out using the Banner Trio Die Set. 

This card is filled with treats that are perfect to make any day special!
