Jessica Frost-Ballas

For those who may not know me, my name is Jessica and I blog over at All the Sparkle! I live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with my incredibly supportive husband (just don't show him my ink pad stash!), two adorable shelties, a crazy tortoiseshell cat, and a senior dutch bunny. I am a professional musician by day and a papercrafter by night (or really early morning)! I enjoy creating cards for my friends and family and I can often be found watercoloring a few images or embossing a sentiment in-between lessons and gigs! I love experimenting with new techniques and mediums and I usually can’t resist adding a little extra sparkle to all of my cards and projects!

Here's what Jessica created

A trio of gorgeous winter scene cards with our Serene Silhouettes stamp set!

Winter scene card by Jessica Frost-Ballas | Serene Silhouettes stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
The first card features the birch trees and a sweet little bunny couple from our Serene Silhouettes stamp set under and pink to purple ombré sky! So stunning!

Winter deer scene card by Jessica Frost-Ballas | Serene Silhouettes stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
For her second card she switched it up to sparkly silver deer and birch trees from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set. This card has such a lovely clam feeling to it and the sparkle really adds a touch of elegance!

Winter fox scene card by Jessica Frost-Ballas | Serene Silhouettes stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
Her third card using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set features the fox couple in gold sparkle! The yellow to red ombré sky really gives this card a gorgeous pop of color! What a wonderful winter sunset!

Make sure you head over to All the Sparkle to get more details on these three amazing cards!

Thanks so much, Jessica for being our guest today! She will be back for our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws blog hop on Friday, December 9th. Until then, you can visit her at her blog, All the Sparkle to read more about her adorable projects and say hello!

Tomorrow we will have a big BLOG HOP with all this weeks guest plus our FABULOUS NND Design Team - so make sure you come back tomorrow - there will be prizes too!

Each day this week we will have a new awesome featured guest and then a BIG blog hop on Friday, December 9th (with some give-aways, of course!) So make sure you come back and visit us every day!

Today's Featured guest is Ruby Naz

I am in my early 30s and discovered papercrafting about two years ago. Professionally, I am a social worker, but I spend a lot of my downtime creating cards. Some of my favorite techniques include heat embossing and watercoloring. I enjoy trying different styles from clean and simple to layered. I love bright colors. Most of my cards focus on florals or cute critters. I have done a lot of guest design work and have been on a few Design Teams. Each opportunity challenges me to grow and improve my craft. I am so grateful to be a guest for Newton's Nook Designs! You can find me at A Rare Ruby, where I share my work and so much more.

Here's what Ruby created!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 3 - Ruby Naz | One Layer Pine Tree card | Whispering Pines stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Ruby created this beautiful one layer card using our Whispering Pines stamp set! She stamped the trees in different shades of green to create a whole forest of pines and added the dog silhouette in the front. The "thinking of you" sentiment is also from the our Whispering Pines stamp set.  The added splatters really give it a fun finishing touch!

Thanks so much, Ruby for being our guest today! She will be back for our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws blog hop on Friday, December 9th. Until then, you can visit her at her blog, A Rare Ruby to read more about her adorable projects and say hello!

Today's Featured guest is Lynn Put

Hello there!  I’m Lynn Put and I’m excited about having the opportunity to be a guest designer for Newton’s Nook 4th annual “Deck the Halls with Inky Paws”!

A little info about myself: I live in southeast Michigan with my husband and three children. I started out 21 years ago as a scrapbooker after my oldest son was born and a few short years later was introduced to the world of stamping and card making. I’ve been addicted ever since. I would say my style of card making is a cross between clean & simple and clean & layered. Along with my love of card making, I also enjoy reading, gardening and spending time with family & friends. I’m looking forward to sharing what I create using some of the fun Newton’s Nook Designs!

Here's what Lynn created!

Kitty with Christmas Ornament card by Lynn Put | Ornamental Newton Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

This beautiful card by Lynn features that cute image of the kitty hanging onto a giant christmas bulb from our NEW Ornamental Newton stamp set! Isn't this image so adorable? Lynn did such an awesome job coloring the kitty and ornament in lovely vibrant colors! She added some fun ornament paper behind the image that coordinates so well with the image! She finished it off with the "Big Holiday Wishes" sentiment, also from the Ornamental Newton stamp set, and some silver bling! What a fun and colorful Holiday card!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 1- Melody Rupple

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws - Newton's Nook Designs

Welcome to day one of our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws week!

Each day this week we will have a new awesome featured guest and then a BIG blog hop on Friday, December 9th (with some give-aways, of course!) So make sure you come back and visit us every day!

Today's Featured guest is
Melody Rupple

I am married with four daughters and I feel lucky to live in beautiful San Diego, California. I work in the Accounting/Management Information System field.

From a young age, I was always “crafty.” I learned to sew when I was in my teens and I still have the simple scrapbooks I made in high school. When my children were young, I started making family scrapbooks for them. About seven years ago, I discovered card making, which opened a whole new world of blogging, challenges, and online shopping!

I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to design for a number of wonderful stamp companies. I enjoy guest designing and playing along with card making and scrapbook challenges. I appreciate all the friends I made through my craft and am very excited to be designing for Newton’s Nook Designs!

You can visit my blog at apapermelody.blogspot.com. You can also find me on Facebook and Pinterest.

Here's what Melody created!

Fox in Sweater card by Melody Rupple | Sweater Weather Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Melody created TWO beautiful cards today using our Sweater Weather stamp set!  The first card features our cute little fox wearing in his adorable sweater and hat! She used such a fun green and teal color combo on his winter wear, including two mittens too! She trimmed out all these parts using the coordinating Sweater Weather Die Set. The snowy sky she created on this card is so fun too!

Cat in Sweater Shaker card by Melody Rupple | Sweater Weather Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

This second card by Melody features the kitty in a sweater from our Sweater Weather stamp set! She colored the kitties sweater in blue and red to match the fun snowflake paper she used for the background! I love how she added a fun shaker window to put the "sending warm thoughts" sentiment into! Plus, the line of stitching on the the red strip of paper really ties into the sweater theme! So cozy!

Make sure you head over to apapermelody.blogspot.com to get all the details on how she created this card!

Thanks so much, Melody for being our guest today! She will be back for our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws blog hop on Friday, December 9th. Until then, you can visit her at her blog, A Paper Melody to read more about her adorable projects and say hello!

Fox Christmas Card by December Guest Designer Anni Lerch

Today we have our first post from our awesome December Guest Designer, Anni from Annikarten! Anni will be joining us this month and wowing us with her adorable cards! Scroll down to ready about her and to check our her first beautiful project below!

Hello, I am Anni and I’m from Germany. For 20 years now I´ve lived in the beautiful city Berlin and I am married. I work as a math-teacher at a vocational college; to perform handicraft work is a perfect compensation for that.
Into stamping I am since 2008, I love clean and simple cards, and yet eventually my cards often turn out to be somewhat more complex. I love the soothing of paper piecing and resist techniques. You can see all my projects at annikarten.blogspot.com

Hi, my name is Anika Lerche, or you may know me as Anni! I am so proud and honored to be a guest designer for Newton’s Nook Design for December.

With Christmas coming up I have a Christmas card for you today!

We all have those images we can’t get by. For me it is all kind of coffee themed sets, snowmen and – of course – foxes. So when I first saw this super cute stamp set called Fox Hollow I instantly fell in love! So A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! I love that you can used it all year long but the images are perfect for Christmas cards, too! Just create a winter scene around them!

I started with some ink blending for the background! I didn’t use an ink blending tool but a stencil brush that I find much easier to work with. You don’t get harsh lines but a smooth blending. Then I spritzed some water on it to get this bleached effect and added some stars with a white gel pen.

Then I stamped the foxes and the trees. For colouring I used coloured pencils. I love to work with Prismacolor and Polychromos. It always takes more time to colour with coloured pencils than with Copics but I like the results more. After finishing I go over the black lines with a black gel pen to make them real black again. I fussy cut all the images.

I die cut a snow slope and stamp the sentiment on it from the Holiday Tweets stamp set with Versafine ink – my favorite ink for sentiments!

    Finally I assemble the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you liked my card!

    Anni
