Tropical Flamingo Holiday Card by Danielle Pandeline

Flamingo Christmas card by Danielle Pandeline using Flirty Flamingos Stamp set | Newton's Nook Designs

Tropical Holiday Cheer!

Here is a fun way to create a tropical Holiday card by Danielle!  Danielle used our cute litte flamingo couple from the  Flirty Flamingos stamp set and then added in the little santa hat from the Flaky Family stamp set! What a fun way to make a Christmas card for someone who has more of a "tropical" holiday. She did add a bit of fun snow in too- so it's a fun mix of both!

You can head over to  Danielle's blog Girl Racer Scrap to say hello and see what else she's been creating! You can also subscribe to her youtube channel Girl Racer Photo to see her fun videos too!

Naughty or Nice Newton?

The blog hop starts here, with a card featuring Newton's Curious Christmas! Since our kitty Newton is both naughty and nice - I thought I'd color this kitty to be orange like him. I love this image of the kitty in the tree - it looks like he could either be decorating the tree or being naughty and knocking down the ornaments! I stamped the image onto watercolor paper and colored it with distress markers and a water brush.

Behind the kitty image is small chunk of silver paper that I added some fun texture too using some embossing paste and a sweater pattern stencil.  Then I framed it in red cardstock to help the whole thing pop. The "naughty or nice" sentiment is also from the  Newton's Curious Christmas stamp set and was added on with some holiday bakers twine. Then for the base I used a scrap of red and green patterned paper from my stash and some red polka dot washi tape! I love how this turned out!

Laura created this adorable snowman card using our Frozen Friends Stamp set! I love how it's all soft blues and tonal and then their cute little hats are bright primary colors! It really makes the snow couple pop off the card, doesn't it? I love their rosy cheeks too. Then she also added some fun dimension to this card with the snowy dots in the sky! Super cute!

Papercrafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Blog Hop

A Special Thank You to Papercrafts & Scrapbooking Magazine

Hello and welcome to the blog hop today! Today's post is both a happy and sad one. I'm so happy to be joining over 200 bloggers to share our love of Papercrafts & Scrapbooking Magazine! But I'm also so sad that Papercrafts & Scrapbooking Magazine will soon be shutting it's doors. This magazine has been a source of inspiration to me for many years and it will be missed SO much! I always had a subscription - almost right from the beginning and have browsed every issue from cover to cover more than once! I want to take this chance to say THANK YOU to all the staff who helped to inspire over the years - and to all those who contributed their creations each month! It was truly a beautiful magazine and will be very much missed!

Thanks snow much Kitty Card by Jennifer Jackson | Winter Tails Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs

Thanks snow much!

So... to lighten the mood a bit, I'm sharing this whimsical thank you card! I used the sweet kitty buried in the snow from the Winter Tails stamp set.  I colored the kitty and added a bit of blue tint to the edges of the snow drift with copic markers. Then I fussy-cut out the image along the top edge and layered it on top of a piece of patterned paper that had snowflakes on it from my scrap pile. I then stamped the sign with the "thanks snow much" sentiment inside it on a separate piece of paper and colored it with copics. I fussy-cut this out and added it on with some dimensional dots so it pops out from the first layer. I added some little sequins for a sparkle among the snowflakes and I added some glitter along the edge of the snow. For the base layer of the card I used a piece of subtly patterned brown paper and some fun blue and white metallic striped washi tape!

I hope that if you're feeling down about Papercrafts and Scrapbooking closing that this card helped make you smile a little today! I know that the spirit of the magazine and all the creativity inspired by it will surely live on!

If you started at the beginning of the hop - you've got just a few stops left - if not, you can always go back to the first post  - it starts at Jennifer McGuire's blog. Make sure you've got some coffee - and sit back and relax while you page through all the inspiration.

When I asked Jennifer which of our holiday sets she'd like to work with she suggested she could use our Falling into Autumn stamp to create a project for Christmas - and she definitely succeeded! I love this idea of creating a whole tree from the fun leaves in this set!
