November Release - SNEAK PEEKS!

It's SNEAKY PEEK TIME!

Get ready for some fun - We will be releasing TWO fun winter sets this month, with reveals starting on Monday - Here is a little peek from each set:

Full reveals will be Monday and Tuesday (one full reveal each day) and will be filled with fabulous fun from our FABULOUS Design Team and November Guest, Donna Mikasa!

Both sets will be for sale in the online shop on Wednesday, November 12th! Make sure you pop through all the blogs on Monday and Tuesday and leave comments both days for a chance to win!

Heartfelt Thanks Fall Shaker Tag by Larissa Heskett

Gorgeous Fall Shaker Tag! 

Today I'm sharing this beautiful shaker tag by Larissa Heskett. She used a combo of stamp sets to make this awesome tag. The little pumpkin is from our Love à la Carte set and made it the focal point of her shaker. She also used the "heartfelt" and "thanks" from the Simply Sentimental set. Isn't that gold embossing on the word heartfelt just awesome? Then she took the leaves from our Falling into Autumn set and stamped them and cut them out and added glitter --- this is SO PRETTY!  I just love the mixture of sparkle and shine  with the fun burlap bow too! It has so much fun detail. Here's a close-up of the shaker:

Snowy Greetings Snowman Card by Tessa Wise

Snowy Greetings!

This cute card by Tessa Wise is jam-packed with snowy fun! I love how Tessa stamped all those adorable snowmen  (and snow ladies) to create this fun scene. She did some amazing cutting around them too! Wowsers!!  The snowmen she used are from our Flaky Family Stamp Set!  I also love the bits of snowy sequins and the the little details she added liked the polka dots on the pink hat!!

This set is so fun because it lets you customize the "snow family" to mimic your own - it even has a snowdog and snowcat! If you haven't checked it out yet here's a peek at the whole set- can you see all the fun possibilities?

The magnets are so cute - and I love that she also made a coordinating gift box! November Guest Designer - Donna Mikasa

Hello! I’m Donna Mikasa and my blog is three umbrellas. I was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and we are the parents of two grown daughters.

I’ve always loved some form of paper crafting and began stamping over 15 years ago when stamps were red rubber stuck onto wooden blocks. I consider myself a technique stamper and love to incorporate either ink distressing or water coloring on my cards.

I’m currently on two challenge design teams and recently joined the team at Hero Arts. I’ve come full circle as Hero Arts is where I began sharing my cards in their Flickr group, and where friendships were formed that continue to this day.

I’m honored to be guest designing this month and it was so much fun to get inky with the new release. I know you’re gonna love it!

Snuggly Kitty card by Taheerah Atchia

Sweet Snuggly Kitties!

Today I'm sharing this adorable kitty card by Taheerah Atchia using our new Newton's Curious Christmas stamp set. Taheerah used the kitty sitting on the roof image and masked off the roof and the moon so only the backside of the kitty was left. Then she did it a second time to create the two kitties snuggling! So adorable!!

Caring Hearts Blog Hop

Caring Hearts Card Drive is a card drive organized by Vera Yates & Jennifer McGuire with the goal to collect holiday cards for the elderly that lives in nursing home. During this time many of the elderly who lives in nursing homes would really feel the loneliness or missing their family. Wouldn't it be so awesome if we can bring a smile to their face & brighten their holiday season simply by sharing our love of card making? A simple gesture to let them know that they are not forgotten.

The card drive is going on right now till November 28, 2014. If you'd like to send your cards for the card drive please go to visit these posts on Vera Yates or Jennifer McGuire blogs for the card drive details. There are prizes for participating too - including a store credit from us at Newton's Nook Designs - so make sure to send some cards their way!

Since this blog hop is all about holiday cards I wanted to share a fun Winston Holiday card today. I used the image of our bear, Winston, from the Winston's Home for Christmas stamp set - just released a few weeks ago. This image of the bear in his car heading your way to bring holiday cheer is one of my favorite images to color in this set! For this card, I colored the image with distress ink markers  and a waterbrush on watercolor paper.

To create the card, I used a red cardstock base, added some stripy blue paper that matched the color I colored the car and then stamped the "all hearts come home for christmas sentiment, also from the Winston's Home for Christmas stamp set. I also added some sequins - just because they always make the card look pretty!
