Get the Most out of your Foil! ATC Cards by Diane Morales

Adorable ATC Mix Tapes! 

Today are sharing an adorable ATC (artist trading cards) by Diane!

Diane created two fun foiled backgrounds for her cards using the cassette tape toner sheet from our Retro Mix Toner Card Fronts along with our Solid Black Toner Card Fronts. 

Here's how to create two patterns from one sheet of foil:

1.  Apply colored foil onto the printed toner sheet using a heat laminator or other heat transfer machine. After applying heat, peel off the foil. The foil adheres to the black toner pattern (shown below on the left) and you will also have the reverse image on the piece of foil that you peeled off (shown below on the right).
   
   
   
   
2. Take the reverse or "spent" foil sheet and layer it over a piece of black toner from our Solid Black Toner Card Fronts. Run these two pieces through your heat transfer machine. Since the whole black sheet is toner the foil leftover foil will stick to the whole sheet and you will have the reverse image, this time on black where the toner shows through (see image below on right).

This is such a great way to get the most out of your supplies! Plus, you have two amazing shiny backgrounds to use! 

Diane used her backgrounds to make little Artist Trading cards. For the first card she used the original toner card front from the Retro Mix Toner Card Front pack for her background. Then she stamped and colored that cute kitty with the giant cassette tape from the Newton's Mix Tape Stamp Set along with some music notes. She cut all the images out and also cut out a label to go onto the tape (the extra label die is included with the coordinating die set). She used the title "Meowy Mix." So cute! 

For her second version she used the pattern that was created using the leftover foil piece with our Solid Black Toner Card Fronts. Then she stamped and colored the pup from our Puppy's Mix Tape Stamp Set. This time she used the fun label title of "woof Jams." She used the coordinating label die cut then cut a  flag shape out of one side using a scissor. Such a RAD idea!
