Mahalo!
Today we are sharing summer vibes with a gorgeous card by Samantha combining our Aloha Newton Stamp Set and Hibiscus Stencil Set.
Samantha created a gorgeous background using our Hibiscus Stencil Set. This stencil has two pieces that layer together, one for the flowers and one for the leaves. She started by using stencil with the flowers, inking the flowers in pink and coral distress inks. Without lifting up the stencil, she pressed a clear embossing pad onto the stencil over the same floral areas. She removed the stencil and embossed the flowers with clear embossing powder. What a fun effect! Then she used the stencil with the leaves and inked it with green distress inks. She also added green inks over the whole upper part of the card front, fading them to the bottom left corner. Some paint and water splatters add a bit of fun texture.
Next, she created the cute kitty image to add to her card. The cute cat peeking out from behind hibiscus flowers and tropical leaves is from our Aloha Newton Stamp Set. She colored the image in fun tropical colors and cut it out using the coordinating Aloha Newton Die Set. She added more individual hibiscus flowers and leaves behind the image to add some more dimension to the image.
To finish the card she adds the word "Mahalo" embossed in white onto a small black rectangle. She also added some black and white washi tape up the side to help balance the colors.
What a beautiful summer card!
