Tickled pink Flamingo card with Streamers!

Tickled Pink Monday! 

Happy Monday! Sometimes Mondays are rough so I'm hoping this fun pink card will help make you smile today! I used our new set, Flirty Flamingos, to create this fun little scene. I colored the flamingos on white cardstock with copic markers and added the hearts and the "tickled pink" sentiment above them. Then I added a few blue speckles around them to add a bit of beachy-ness! I also made a fun little ruffle using party streamers. I have some different bits of leftover streamers from parties lying around and it thought it would be fun to try to use them on a card! 

Aren't the streamers super fun? I just kind of ruffled them up and added them on with some adhesive. I also added a bit of chevron washi tape and some pink and white bakers twine to finish it off. I know it's A LOT of pink - but I thought it turned out to be pretty cute!

This month's challenge is a Beach - Theme Challenge!

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? Don't you just love this fun bright yellow card by Lydia? It reminds me of sunshine! I love how she colored the kitty and sandcastle image from our Newton's Summer Vacation set! Adorable! 

Here's a great beach card by Stephanie! I love her color combo and cut clouds! And its cute how she gave the kitty from our  Newton's Summer Vacation set rosy cheeks! Makes me smile!

Here's a great sweet little beach treat by Tessa! She colored the cute kitty from our Newton's Summer Vacation set and added him to this cute little container of gummy sharks! YUM!

 Larissa created a fun "framed" beach scene using the frame from the Around the House set, the water from the Beach Party set and the Pail of sand from  Newton's Summer Vacation. Love this idea!

More Sunshine from Jess - this time in the form of rays - Super Fun! She used our Kitty on in inner tube from Newton's Summer Vacation and the waves from the Beach Party set. 

Diane created this super fun triple image card  - Newton is on an Island Vacation tour - using stamps from  Newton's Summer Vacation 

Danielle created this pretty watercolor beach scene with the kitty on the innertube as the focus! Love how bright those watercolors are! She used stamps from  Newton's Summer Vacation. 

Samantha used the super cute hula bunny from our Beach Party set and the Wish you were here sentiment from Newton's Summer Vacation. I love how she colored those waves!

Here's one from me (Jen) - I also used the kitty from from the  Newton's Summer Vacation set and I used sandpaper to create the beach along the bottom- Doesn't it look fun?

Newton Catches a Wave with Samantha Mann

Today I'm sharing this super fun card by Samantha Mann! Isn't it beautiful? I just love the fun wave background she created! It goes PURRfectly with our Newton and sandcastle image from the new Newton's Summer Vacation Stamp set! She also used the cute little "wish you were here" sentiment in the corner - which is also part of that same stamp set. I don't know about you - but I definitely wish I WAS there - looks like that kitty is having a great time on that beautiful beach!

Isn't this alligator so fun in his sunshades? I had such a fun time coloring him for this card. I fussy cut him out and added him to this background I made with a stencil and spray ink. Then I added some waves below him Then I added the "smile" sentiment from this set on a fun wood thought bubble. And I added a few sequins - because sequins make everything cuter! Anniversary Blog Hop with Newton's Nook Designs!

Newton’s Nook Designs is so excited to be celebrating our One Year Anniversary - one whole year of getting our paws inky! I remember how excited I was when our first four sets came in the mail about one year ago (see my photo below) - Now we have 33 designs in our shop! It's been an AMAZING year - filled with happiness, stress, excitement, little sleep and lots of learning! We want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all our fans, designers and customers who helped make it happen! We are so happy to be here and we can't wait to see what the next year brings!

To celebrate, we have a blog hop with our brand new design team and we've invited some very special guests to our hop along  - we have asked back 3 of our original and super talented design team members - Jennifer Ingle, Emily Leiphart, and Jocelyn Olson, AND the Simon Says Stamp blog! How cool is that? Make sure to scroll down to the end of the post to see the whole list!

For our stop on the hop, I created a card featuring Newton, our namesake and fan favorite! I stamped the kitty on the inner tube from our new Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set and colored him with copics. Then I cut a circle out of this fun paper that looks sort of like waves. I added on a bit of orange polka-dot paper, some chevron ribbon and twine to dress it up. And some homemade enamel dots to finish it off!

This set is for sale now, along with the rest of our July release at  Newton's Nook Designs online shop today! You can also find our release at Simon Says Stamp !
