August Reveal - Day 1 - Sips & Stories + New Stencils

Welcome to first reveal day for our August Release! This month we have some amazing new products share! We are starting things out today with a new coffee & book themed set called Sips & Stories! Today we are introducing two new gorgeous stencils! The Houndstooth Stencil (pictured below left) is perfect for creating classic textures and patterns that coordinate with cards for any occasion. The Mugs Stencil (pictured below right) is great for creating backgrounds to go with all of your coffee and tea themed projects! Both designs will become fast favorites in your collection!

Amy created this beautiful slimline card featuring our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set. She used our Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set and Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to create the layers on the card, filling the windows with patterns using our new Houndstooth Stencil and Mugs Stencil in soft shades of pink! The sentiment in the center and the girls on each side are from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set!

Tatiana combines all three new products today on this adorable card! She uses both the Houndstooth Stencil and the Mugs Stencil to create background pattern layers. Then she added on the image of the girl reading from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set, layering it over a tag that was cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. 

Samantha creates a cozy card featuring two of the lovely ladies with their books and coffee from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set. She colors them in gorgeous bright colors and layers them over a starry background that was created using our Cascading Stars Stencil. The girls are truly the stars of their stories!  

Zsofia created a cozy scene that any book lover would adore! She used the image of the girl reading with her coffee and kitty from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set. She then layered the image over a circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set, adding more books along the bottom edge of the circle! For the background pattern she used the new Mugs Stencil and gave the panel a postage edge using our Framework Die Set. The sentiment gives the finishing touch, stamped on a banner that was cut out using the extra shape from our Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set. 

This cheerful slimline card was created by Ellen! She used our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to cut out the colorful layers and then added two of the lovely ladies from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set on the outside circles. For the center circle she added in the sentiment along with some more books and coffee! Such a fun and colorful card!

If you ever thought "the book was better" then you will love this card by Amanda! She features two scenes of ladies reading books and drinking coffee from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set, framing them with scalloped edged frames and vellum using our Framework Die Set. She added in a fun coffee mug background using our new Mugs Stencil.

This sweet book themed card by Maria would be perfect to send to a friend who loves books! She features the lady dreaming of her book while drinking coffee from the new Sips & Stories Stamp Set. She adds the image onto a tag that was cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set, adding a bow from our Pines & Holly Die Set and some stars in the background using our Starfield Stencil. The card background also features some gorgeous textured mugs created with texture paste and our new Mugs Stencil.

Andrea created a lovely vertical slimline card with the fun book and coffee theme! She used our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to cut out slimline layers, adding coffee cups to the frame layer using our new Mugs Stencil. Then she added two of the ladies with their coffee and books from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set, adding the fun sentiment in the center!

The two lovely ladies on this card by Larissa are enjoying a cozy day of reading and coffee! She colored the two images from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set in gorgeous rainbow colors and then layered them over white floorboards. Such a fun idea! She also added rainbow colored letters to the sentiment!

2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Here's what I created:

Today I decided to create a fun coffee themed card featuring our Sips & Stories Stamp Set. This set has coffee and book lovers theme so it is perfect for celebrating a cozy day, complete with coffee! My favorite image from this set is the girl sitting in the comfy chair reading a book and drinking coffee with her kitty! Doesn't that sound like a wonderful way to spend an afternoon?

I wanted this card to have a spring feeling so I chose fun bright spring pastels to color this image and I also colored the image of a single mug to match. I used the coordinating Sips & Stories Die Set to cut the images out. I also cut out two pink hearts using our Heart Frames Die Set and stamped the sentiment into the larger heart. 

For the card background, I used our Mugs Stencil with teal ink on light teal paper to make a fun coffee mug background. I cut out this panel and the vellum panel that is layered over it using our Frames & Flags Die Set for the fun stitched and scalloped edges! 

What do you think? Doesn't this look like a wonderful day? This card would be perfect to send to a friend who loves, coffee, books or cats.... or all three!

Although Newton passed away last year, we still love that he lives on in our designs. We now have two young kitties, Toulouse and Marlowe that we adopted last fall! Cozy Coffee Card by Amanda Wilcox

Cozy with Coffee & Books!

Today we are featuring a coffee and book themed card by Amanda that is perfect for spending a cozy day in! 

This card features the adorable image of the girl, curled up in her armchair with a good book, a cup of coffee and her cat from our Sips & Stories Stamp Set. What a perfect way to spend the day! She colored the image in beautiful soft colors and then cut it out using the coordinating Sips & Stories Die Set. She layered the image over a circle that was die cut from vellum using our Circle Frames Die Set. 

For the sentiment, she chose "Never judge a book by it's movie!" which she stamped from our Sips & Stories Stamp Set. She embossed the message in white onto a black banner that was die cut using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

For her card background she chose the paper filled with steaming coffee mugs from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad and cut it out with our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge. She also used the teal polka dot paper from the same paper pad, layering it behind so it just peeks around the edges and gives a perfect pop of teal to the card. 

This lovely card would be perfect for sending a hello to a book-lover!

A Slimline Card for Book Lovers by Amanda Wilcox

A Slimline Card for Book Lovers!

Today Amanda has created another beautiful tall slimline card, perfect for a book lover! She used the frame with three windows from our Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set to feature the three lovely ladies reading books from our Sips & Stories Stamp Set. The images were cut out using the coordinating Sips & Stores Die Set and layered onto the tall slim card!

Behind these adorable girls she added a scallop edged panel that was cut out using our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. She also added a fun coffee mug pattern onto the panel using our Mugs Stencil. In  the center window she added the sentiment, embossed in white onto a banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set.

The bits of sparkle and glossy effects on the images really add a special touch. Plus, check out the dot details on that kitty! So cute!

Happiness is Coffee and a Good Book Card by Amanda Wilcox

A Happy Coffee Card!

Today Amanda has created a cozy coffee card with a fun fall color vibe! 

This awesome card features the girl curled up in her arm chair with three of our favorite things: a kitty, a book, and a coffee! This image is from our Sips & Stories Stamp Set. She colored the image using neutrals along with pops for teal and red for a fun color combo that feels perfect for fall! The image was cut out using the coordinating Sips & Stories Die Set. 

For her card she combined a few different elements to create a fun layout. She started by stenciling a panel of green paper with green ink using our Mugs Stencil. Then she cut the panel out using our Framework Die Set to give it that fun postage edge. 

Next, she cut out a bright golden yellow tag using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She used the mini edge dies from the same set to add a brown tag topper with a zig zag edge. She also used our Houndstooth Stencil to to add a bit of pattern to the tag. 

She assembled all the pieces and added the sentiment, embossed in white onto a black banner that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. A few mini white hearts add a fun finishing touch too.

Here's what I created:

If you are anything like me, a good day would include coffee, a good book, and cats (of course)! That's why this image from our new Sips & Stories Stamp Set is one of my favorites! For my card today I colored the image of the girl in her cozy reading space using copic markers. I used a fun bright color palette of teal, purple and red with a neutral gray chair. I also colored an extra mug and single book image from the same set. I cut these images out using the coordinating Sips & Stories Die Set. 

For the fun coffee cup background I used our Mugs Stencil with white texture paste over a piece of gray cardstock! I love how bold and striking this looks! I cut the background panel out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it the scalloped edge. Then I assembled the card together, matching the cardstock colors with my colored image and added a round rectangle of vellum, also cut out with our Frames & Flags Die Set to soften the background.  For a finishing touch I added a bit of purple ribbon to match the girls shirt.

Happiness Is... Card by March Guest Designer Jane Trivedi

Hi everyone! 
Jane here sharing this rainbow colored card using the adorable Sips and Stories Stamp Set set by Newton’s Nook Designs.

To create the rainbow background, I first taped the Serene Stripes Stencil to a piece of white card stock and used a scrap piece of post-it tape in the center to create a mask. Next, I ink blended a rainbow of colors using the following distress ink colors: carved pumpkin, worn lipstick, candied apple, seedless preserves, mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio and squeezed lemonade. After removing the mask, the panel was cut using a paper trimmer to 5 inches by 3.75 inches and adhered to a white A2 card base using foam tape.

The image was stamped in copic-friendly black ink on white card stock and colored using copic markers. White gel pen was used to add highlights and texture. The image was then cut using scissors and mounted to the card front using foam tape. The sentiment is also from the Sips and Stories Stamp Set and was stamped on the card front using black ink.

A Cozy Story Time Card by Farhana Sarker

A Cozy Story Time! 

Today we are enjoying a cozy storytime card by Farhana that is sure to make warm you up on a cold day!

For this fun card she features the image of the girl reading and drinking a warm beverage from our Sips & Stories Stamp Set. She colored the image, giving her a fun red sweater, and cut it out using the coordinating  Sips & Stories Die Set. 

For her card background she started with a white panel and used our Serene Stripes Stencil to dry emboss the striped pattern by pressing it through her die cutting machine. Then she used the snow globe shape from our Snow Globe Shaker Die Set to cut a window out of the panel.  She made this window into a shaker shape, adding sparkly snowflakes to the background using our Petite Snow Stencil. She also added little snowflake and circle shapes too. Isn't this so pretty? It looks like she is gazing out into a snowy day!

 

The final touch is the sentiment "I'm so glad that you're part of my story" which is embossed in gold onto black cardstock and carefully cut out by hand. 

This card is perfect to send a friend to let them know you are thinking of them during the cold winter days!
