Here is what I created for the hop today:

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop | Christmas card by Jennifer using Destination Christmas Stamp Set and Slimline Dies by Newton's Nook Designs

Today I created this fun slimline card using the adorable holiday vehicles from our Destination Christmas Stamp Set. This set is filled with fun cars, trucks, and a van laden with holiday gifts and decor. I stamped the van, station wagon and truck onto Bristol paper with waterproof ink. Then I colored the images using Zig clean color watercolor markers. I love the look of watercolor and the fun bright colors. Once the images were colored I used the coordinating Destination Christmas Die Set to cut them out.

Next, I decided I wanted to create a slimline card. I used both of our Slimline die sets to create this. I used the scalloped frame from the Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. Then I layered the frame with square windows from our Slimline Frames and Windows Die Set over that.

I wanted it to look like the vehicles were driving down a road so I added a strip of grey along the bottom of each square and layered a hill above it using our Land Borders Die Set with some green polka dot paper. I cut each of these pieces with the Slimline Frames and Windows Die Set too, to make sure they all had the stitched edge. I also made sure to line up the hills so it looks like one continuous scene. To complete the scenes, I added snow to the white squares using our Petite Snow Stencil with some blue ink.

Once this was all assembled, I added the sentiment "deck the hauls" from our Destination Christmas Stamp Set, embossed in white onto a black banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

I love how this turned out! It will be perfect for sending Holiday greetings across the miles!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 4 - Angelica Conrad | Warm Winter Wishes Card using Winter Birds Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs
Today Angelica created a beautiful winter card featuring our Winter Birds Stamp Set.  She colored the image of the chickadee with copic markers, giving the bird amazing details with texture on the stomach and white accents on the wings! Isn't it beautiful? She also added hand drawn legs to the image so that she could add it standing onto the branch. For the rest of the card, she kept it simple, adding a blue sky background and white flecks of snow over the whole thing. The sentiment, "warm winter wishes" is also from the Winter Birds Stamp Set and was embossed in white in the the corner. So simple and beautiful!

Dana Kirby

Hi crafty friends! My name is Dana Kirby and I am so excited to be a guest for Newton’s Nook. I love all things crafty and especially enjoy creating for the holidays. My husband and I are “empty-nesters” and enjoy traveling and cooking. I have been a scrapbooker for over 23 years and found my love for card making a little over ten years ago.

Here's what Dana created:

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week Day 3 - Dana Kirby | Snowman card using Snowman Greeting Stamp Set and Petite Snow Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs
Dana is getting us in the mood for a snow day with her fun frosty card today! She created this fun and simple card featuring the snowman with a sign from our Snowman Greetings Stamp Set. This set is so fun because there are several sentiments included that fit on the sign. For her card, Dana added the "Let it Snow" sentiment. She colored the image in simple tones of red and blue, making the bird on top of the sign into a blue jay! She also added a few details with a white gel pen. The image was cut out using the coordinating Snowman Greetings Die Set. For her card base, she kept it simple and used an oval mask to add an oval of blue sky and snowflakes with our Petite Snow Stencil. What a great idea!

This card is perfect for sending happy greetings to a friend or family member during the cold months of Winter!! Here is a close-up of the  coloring and markers that she used:

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 2 - Tina Herbeck | Shaker card with Christmas Puppies Stamp Set and Slimline Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs
Tina is sharing an adorable slimline shaker card featuring our Christmas Puppies Stamp Set!  To create this fun card, Tina started by creating a shaker window using our Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set. She cut the window from white paper and used it to frame a shaker background filled with sequins in holiday colors. Then she colored tow of the cute puppies from our Christmas Puppies Stamp Set to layer over the windows. She used neutral colors mixed with pops of festive red and green on those adorable pups. They were cut out using the coordinating Christmas Puppies Die Set.  Then, in the center window she added the sentiment, "peace, love & belly rubs", also from the Christmas Puppies Stamp Set, along with the bit of holly and a bone. The banner shape was also cut out using the Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set.

This card is so fun and festive! I wish I was there in person to shake it! Here are a few close-ups so you can see the incredible coloring and details:

Tammy Stark

Hi there! I'm Tammy, and I live in southern Nevada with my hubby, two amazing teenage daughters, and adorable pup. I have been crafting my entire life - from scrapbooking, to creating party favors, to more recently, card making. I actually taught scrapbooking classes for many years, and loved it! I discovered stamping and cardmaking when I was looking for products to make party favors for my daughter's birthday, and completely fell in love! I gravitate towards fun, whimsical, and happy designs that make me smile, and I can never turn down a good pun! When I'm not creating, you can find me drinking coffee with my sketchbook, thinking about creating, haha! I am ecstatic to be joining Newton's Nook this month as a guest designer, and can't wait to share my creations with you!

Here's what Tammy created:

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 1 - Tammy Stark | Card and Tag using Newton's Snowman Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

Tammy has created an adorable matching card and tag with our Newton's Snowman Stamp Set!
Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 1 - Tammy Stark | Card and Tag using Newton's Snowman Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

For the card, she colored image of the trio of kitties building a snowman from our Newton's Snowman Stamp Set in fun wintery colors! She used the coordinating Newton's Snowman Die Set to cut the image out. Then she created a gorgeous slimline scene for the kitties to play in! She our Forest Scene Builder Die Set to cut out some birch trees to set the wintery scene. The gorgeous snowy background was created using our Snowfall Stencil with white texture paste over a blue distress inked background! So lovey!

The whole slimline scene was framed with a scalloped edge, cut out using the large frame die from our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set.

For the matching tag, she used the same colors on the image of the kitties from our Newton's Snowman Stamp Set but switched them up a bit so that the kitties are in opposite colors than they are in the first image. Which version do you prefer?  She created a smaller snowy background on the tag using our Petite Snow Stencil over her blue background. The tag was also cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set.

This set of projects is so adorable!

Thanks so much, Tammy for being our guest today! She will be back for our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws blog hop on Friday, December 4th. Until then, you can visit her at her blog, Paper Pretty Boutique to read more about her adorable projects and say hello!

No-line Watercoloring Snowman Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben

Hello friends! It's Ashley with my last guest post for Newton's Nook this month! The time has really flown by! For my last card, I decided to try a bit of no-line watercoloring. I am very new to this technique, but I thought the snowmen from Frosty Folks would look really soft and lovely this way.

No-line Watercoloring Snowman Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben | Frosty Folks & Newton's Curious Christmas Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs

I started by stamping the Newton and snowman from Newton's Curious Christmas onto white watercolor cardstock with InkOn3 Fadeout Ink. I masked the image off, then stamped the Frosty Folks in Fadeout Ink as well so the images were layered. I then slowly watercolored everything in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. A few of the details ended up getting lost, but the soft effect is worth it, I think.

Once the watercoloring was dry, I splattered a bit of white acrylic paint over the whole piece to look like a light snowfall. I die cut it with a stitched rectangle, then added it to a piece of blue snowflake paper. I stamped the sentiment from Frosty Folks in a bright blue ink to go with the patterned paper and some of the blue watercolored spots. To finish, I added a scattering of clear snowflake sequins for some sparkle.
