April Guest Designer - Christy Reuling

Meet Christy!

Today I am excited to introduce you to our guest designer this month - Christy Rueling! She will be posting with our Design Team for our April release this week! We are so excited to have Christy stamping with us this month! She has such a fun card-making style and does awesome videos too!

Christy Gets Crafty
Hey everyone, it's Christy! I'm married to an amazing man from Germany, mom of three wild and wonderful boys aged 11-14, and fur mom to Zadie, our sweet rescue Flat-coated Retriever. I'm a lover of art in all its forms, and card-making in particular, because it's all about putting love on paper and giving it away. My style would be best described as cutesy and layered. I love critter stamps and patterned paper, and my favorite part of the whole process is coloring, either with Copic markers or watercolors. You can find me blogging or posting YouTube video tutorials as Christy Gets Crafty. Thanks so much for having me guest with Newton's Nook this month, Jennifer! I'm truly honored.

I love how Christy stacked all the cheese from our Just Say Cheese stamp set! What a lucky mouse! She has a video go with this card on her blog post here.  

Here's another CHEESY card by Christy! I love the little sombrero she added onto onto mouse from our Just Say Cheese stamp set! She has a video of this card too, check out her blog post here to watch it.

I Carrot About You Card by Larissa Heskett

Carrots + Bunnies = adorable spring card!

Today we have this amazing card by Larissa using our bunny, newly named "Lily" from our Hello Spring stamp set! I love how she colored that sweet bunny with the freckles on her cheeks! To make this card even more adorable, she used the basket bottom from our Basket of Wishes stamp set and filled it with more carrots from the Hello Spring stamp set! What a fun combo of images! I love the way this looks! She finished off the card with the "I carrot about you" sentiment (also from the Hello Spring stamp set). What a fun card for Spring!

Shell-abrate Card by Stephanie Muzzulin

Shell-abrate a Birthday!

Today we have a fun turtle birthday card by Stephanie! She used that fun turtle with the gift on his back from the In Slow Motion stamp set and colored him with watercolors. So pretty! The "shell-abrate" sentiment is also from the In Slow Motion stamp set! I love the fun Scrabble letter Happy Birthday paper - it's quite fitting since Scrabble is a fairly slow game! LOL! If you like this turtle card, make sure to check out our In Slow Motion stamp set - it's filled with slow animals including a turtle, sloth and snail!

You're Jaw-some Card by Samantha Mann

JAW-some Shark Card! 

Today's card by Samantha Bites! He He He - I couldn't resist the pun!  I love the awesome shark design she created using our Shark Bites stamp set. The fun circle of water behind the shark looks so cool! And I love all the splatters too! She fussy-cut out that fun shark image and added it in front, along with the "You're JAW-some!" sentiment! I love how it all comes together!

Elephant Birthday Card by Kimberly Rendino

Birthday Elephants!

Today we have the super cute elephant card by Kimberly! She took the cute elephant image from our  Wild About Zoo stamp set and stamped it once and then MIRROR stamped it so the two elephants could face each other! So CUTE! Have you tried mirror stamping? It's such a great technique to get more mileage out of your stamps! Kimberly finished off her scene using balloons from the Winston's Birthday stamp set and the swirly "for you" from the Beautiful Blossoms Stamp set.

This rose card by Shannon caught our eye - the watercolors are just so yummy!  She used the lovely flowers from the Love Grows stamp set! 

We loved this spring card with the bunny holding both tulips and an umbrella by Mary Gable! She used the image of Lily, our bunny, from the Hello Spring stamp set! 

We really loved how Mindy Baxter colored the rolling pin and spoon to have such a cool woodgrain texture! She used our Made From Scratch stamp set!
