Cat-itude Cards by Amanda Wilcox

Cat-itude Cards by Amanda Wilcox | Cat-itude Stamp Set, A Cat's Life Paper Pad, Cat Silhouettes Die Set and various Shape Dies by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Cat-itude!

Today we are sharing a trio of cat themed cards by Amanda that are perfect for sending greetings to the cat lovers in your life! Plus, they're quick and easy to create!

For this  fun trio she started with fun cat themed papers from our A Cat's Life Paper Pad. She cut all three background pieces at the same time so the pieces all mixed and matched like a puzzle. She added the fun prints onto each card front and then added sentiments from our Cat-itutde Stamp Set onto each one. To create shapes to hold the sentiment she used various shape dies from our collection.  For one card she used an oval from our Oval Frames Die Set, for one she used a circle from our Frames Squared Die Set and for the third card she used the pawprint shape from our Pawprint Shaker Die Set. Shed added a bit of green ink to the edges of each of the sentiment shapes so that they coordinated. Then on each card she added a cute little cat silhouette using our Cat Silhouettes Die Set, again with a print from our  A Cat's Life Paper Pad.

Here are individual photos of each card so you can see them up close.

We love this fun idea of creating a trio of cards that are similar, yet each individual! Plus, it's so quick and easy when you fill the card front with pretty pattered papers! you could repeat this design using any of the pretty patterns from any of our different seasonal or themed Paper Pads to make cards for different occasions too!

Floral Filled Jars Card Set and Video by Jennifer Jackson

Floral Filled Jar Cards by Jennifer Jackson | Jar Hot Foil Plate, Bright Sentiments Hot Foil Plate, Banner Duo Duo Set, Dainty Daisies Stamp Set and Petite Flowers Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Filling Jars with Flowers!

Hello! Jen here today and I'm sharing more fun ways to use our Jar Hot Foil Plate! Last week I shared a post where created a card using the jar as a terrarium (you can find that post here if you missed it). Today I'm back to share another awesome way to use the Jar by filling it with flowers! I was having so much fun with this that I created a whole series of cards using various blooms from our floral category

First I used our Jar Hot Foil Plate to foil the jar with a silver foil. I then used the coordinating die set (which comes with the plate) to cut it out.  For the first card I chose to use the daisy image from our Dainty Daisies Stamp Set. I added some color to the image using watercolor markers and then cut the image out using the coordinating Dainty Daisies Die Set

One I tucked the flowers into the jar I realized the image would be too large for a standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5") sized card so I decided to make an A7 (5" x 7") sized card instead. I cut out a large scallop edged rectangle using our A7 Frames and Banners Die Set. Then I added flowers to this panel using our Petite Flowers Stencil with some yellow and orange inks.

Next, I decided the jar needed something behind it to frame it so I used our Oval Frames Die Set along with patterned paper from our Spring Blooms Paper Pad and some vellum to create two layers of ovals.

For a message I added  the sentiment "Bright Birthday Wishes" from our Bright Sentiments Hot Foil Plates.  I foiled this using my hot foil machine with some gold foil and then cut it out using the Banner Duo Die Set. I layered this over the jar to complete this fun card!

Once this card was completed, I decided to create a few more cards using the same layout and different flowers.

This was made exactly the same as above but uses our Daffodils Stamp Set

This one uses our Tulips Stamp Set

For this one I switched up the colors to purples and then used our Lilac Stamp Set:

And last, I switched the colors to pinks and used our Roses Stamp Set:

Purr-fect Day at the Beach Card by Samantha Mann

Purr-fect Day Beach Card by Samantha Mann | Kitten Beach Stamp Set and Clouds Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Purr-fect Day at the Beach!

Today Samantha is taking us to the beach on this adorable kitty card!

This sweet card features a duo of kitties from our Kitten Beach Stamp Set. These sweet feline friends are having so much fun with building a beach sand castle!  and bucket. She colored the kitties in gray, giving them fun fur stripes and pink cheeks. Then she added on more fun details with a white gel pen too. She cut the images out with the coordinating Kitten Beach Die Set then set off to make a fun beachy scene for them to play in.

For her scene she used distress inks to create a beach scape. She used masking tape to tape off the top of the card and then inked up a blue water line and faded it into some brown inked sand. She added paint and ink speckles to give it the sand texture and smooshed some white ink along the edge to make the waves too. For the sky she used our  Clouds Stencil with yellow ink to create a sunny, yet cloudy sky! So pretty! Last, she added the message "have a purr-fect" day, stamped onto vellum and carefully fussy cut out to layer over the clouds!

Terrarium Card & Video by Jennifer Jackson

Plant-astic Terrarium!

Hello! Jen here today and I'm sharing a fun card that I created using our newest products together to created a terrarium!

In case you didn't know, I am the owner (with my husband Jeff) of Newton's Nook Designs and I do ALL  design creation for all of our products! When I was designing our new Hot Foil products I wanted to create something fun and shiny and came up with this adorable Jar Hot Foil. We revealed this jar with Fireflies to go inside it but when I was designing it I was also thinking of lots of other uses for the jar! One of the ideas I had was to add in our new Succulent Garden Stamp Set to create a terrarium so that is what I'm sharing with you today!

Jar Terrarium Card by Jennifer Jackson | Succulent Garden Stamp Set, Jar Hot Foil Plate, Frames & Flags Die Set and Spring Blooms Paper Pad by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

If you are a fan of succulents like I am, you know how cute they look in different containers so I thought that filling the jar would be so cute! First I used our Jar Hot Foil Plate to foil the jar with a silver foil. I then used the coordinating die set (which comes with the plate) to cut it out.

Next, I stamped a bunch of succulents using our Succulent Garden Stamp Set and colored them in shades of teal, green and purple using zig watercolor markers. I cut them all out using the coordinating Succulent Garden Die Set. Then I arranged them inside the foiled jar. Arranging the blooms is half the fun! I also added a bit of teal twine to the mouth of the jar for a fun detail.
Jar Terrarium Card by Jennifer Jackson | Succulent Garden Stamp Set, Jar Hot Foil Plate, Frames & Flags Die Set and Spring Blooms Paper Pad by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Then I added my jar to a card. The purple floral paper is from our Spring Blooms Paper Pad and I die cut it to give it a scalloped edge using our Frames & Flags Die Set. I used this same die set to cut out the stitched vellum rectangle and the light teal banner. I stamped the sentiment "You're PLANT-astic!" onto the banner and then assembled it all together! I love how this turned out.

I also made a second version of this card with a video too. For this version I stamped the succulents onto colored paper and added just a touch of color for dimension. So quick and easy!

You can view this video to see how easy this is to create! Enjoy!

Don't forget to head over to our Newton's Nook Designs YouTube Channel for more inspiration and subscribe to be informed when we add new content too!

I hope this card has inspired you to be creative and find ways to fill your foiled jars! What would you put inside yours? I'm thinking sweets or flowers next?

We have a new addition to our Design Team!
A big warm welcome to Diane!

We are so excited to have Diane Morales joining our team! You might recognize Diane as a former member of our Inky Paws Challenge Inspiration Team! We've loved her work for quite some time now so when we had a spot open on our team - We knew she would fit right in! Diane will begin designing with our team this month and we can't wait to share what she creates!

Here's a little more about her and a fun summer creation from her today:

Diane Morales
2 Sisters Project

Hello Newtons Nook Fans!
My Motto is “do what you love and share it with others.”

I am currently living in Beaverton, Oregon with my husband, and tribe of four cats. Like most I started scrapbooking and migrated into cardmaking. I am obsessed with shaped cards, pattered paper, and bright bold color. I first fell in love with Newton’s Nook when I was looking for a stamp set that best reflected how my cats acted. Newton’s Antics was my first stamp set and I have been in LOVE ever since.

When I am not “procraftinating" you can find me outside with a cup of coffee in the garden. You can find me on Instagram at 2.sistersproject  and #dianeiscrafty

The Sea is Calling Circle Card by Diane Morales | Newton's Seashell Stamp Set, Summertime Paper Pad and Circle Frames Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

The sea is calling!

Today Diane is starting out her spot on team by creating and amazing circle shaped summer card! This sweet little card is sure to make you smile!

She started out with the cute image of the kitty listening to the seashell from our Newton's Seashell Stamp Set. She colored the sweet image in neutral colors and cut it out using the coordinating Newton's Seashell Die Set
The Sea is Calling Circle Card by Diane Morales | Newton's Seashell Stamp Set, Summertime Paper Pad and Circle Frames Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
For the card base she cut out some circles using our Circle Frames Die Set. The larger circle was cut from white and blue cardstock that she layered together. The smaller scallop edged circle was die cut from a pretty patterned paper from our Summertime Paper Pad. She added the sentiment from the Newton's Seashell Stamp Set tucked next to the kitty image.

What an adorable card! This card is a petite sized and would be perfect for tucking into someones bag or lunch tote for a sweet summer smile!

Diane will be back with more inspiration soon so stay tuned! Until then, you can visit her on her blog, 2sisters project

And a now we'd like to give a BIG shout-out to the rest of our AWESOME Design Team!

Samantha Mann
Designer & Design Team Coordinator
Hi, I'm Samantha Mann and I couldn't be happier to continue for another term with Newton's Nook Designs!! My husband and I have lived all over the US, from Washington State to Florida, but we're currently in hot, humid, coastal South Carolina! We have two boys (who I usually call my little Menn, even if they're not-so-little anymore)! I have always been in love with school supplies (ever since elementary school when I would save my nickels to buy cute pencils or erasers!) and that love just grew and developed into my crazy obsession (read: passion!) of paper crafting! I love making cards and even dabble with the occasional scrapbook layout! You can always find me with some inky fingers and lots of ink blending! I'm definitely quirky, and love to make playful, humorous sentiments for my cards (and layouts)! I work full time for an advertising company and spend every other moment I can paper crafting, reading and enjoying the little moments in everyday family life.

Donna Idlet
Creative Lady

Hello, my name is Donna Idlet and I am so excited about joining Newton’s Nook Designs team. I have been a fan of Newton for many years. I live in Northern Virginia which is just 30 minutes away from Washington, DC. I am a wife, mother and mema. My husband is retired from the military who served 30 years of service. He is truly an amazing husband, father, and papa who is dedicated to his family and supports me in all of my endeavors. I have a son, a daughter and three beautiful grandchildren, who are the loves of my life.

My travels have been vast as I was fortunate to live abroad and in multiple states around the Country. The most interesting thing about traveling is seeing all the beauty that surrounds the World which has shaped my life and eye for creativity. I have always loved crafting and I inherited that trait honestly because my mother was a crafter and a quilter.  I have been making cards for over 15 years. I love, love, love making cards, altered art, and photography. I also love Scrapbooking--traditional and digital. I always strive to integrate my joys that I captured or created in my designs to share on social media. I just wish there were more hours in the day.

I love coloring with Copics and experiencing with other mediums. I like clean lines, coloring, layering and elegance. I love learning new techniques and playing with all sorts of stamps, digital images, dies and papers. My style varies but it is always elegant and well put together.

You can find me on my blog Creative Lady, on instagram @didlet and on Facebook.

Zsofia Molnar
safsafdesign

Hello! My name is Zsofia Molnar and I am a card maker from Hungary. I am thrilled to join this amazing Design Team. I live in beautiful Budapest with my 2 kids (11 and 8 years old) and the most loving husband ever. We are a truly trilingual family as my husband is Egyptian and we communicate with each other in English. I started paper crafting more or less 8 years ago when I was fascinated by all the pretty scrapbook layouts. I have never even made a single one, but rather fell in love with making cards and sharing handmade kindness with my family and friends. I am an addict since then, I have to be crafty every day to feel good. This is my little escape. I love cute critters, florals and I really enjoy building scenes with layers. I am curious to try new techniques but my favourites are still Copics and Distress inks. You can follow my crafty journey on my blog www.safsafdesign.wordpress.com or on Instagram @safsafdesign2016.

Maria Russell

Hello stampers and crafters. My name is Maria Russell and I am so THRILLED to be a part of the Newton’s Nook Designs design team.  My husband and I have lived all over the world and we have two talented, beautiful children (now adults).

My love for paper crafting began in high school when my friends and I wrote each other letters, took photos, kept a journal and scrapbooks.  It kind of looked like a smash-book because I had everything in there from ticket stubs, to beautiful napkins, to candy wrapper.  Paper crafting is very therapeutic for me.  I only ventured into card making in 2013 and I am hooked!  I was really honored when one of my cards got published at Scrapbook and Cards magazine, Creative Cards Volume I in 2015.

I am so HAPPY to be a part of this amazing design team!  I’d be honored if you’d like to visit my blog www.mariarusselldesigns.com or follow me on Instagram @rprmlr77

Farhana S
Everyday Engineered

Hi crafty friends! My name is Farhana and I am so excited right now to be part of the Newton's Nook team! I've been crafting for almost 10 years now. It's always been paper crafts, transitioning from scrapbooking to cardmaking. Newton Nook Design stamps were some of my firsts from back in 2013, so there are many retired sets in my stashing and the Inky Paws card challenge was also the first challenge that I ever did! With two littles at home, crafting gives me a much needed break after bedtime! I can't wait to create with NND products and inspire all of you! Critter stamps are cute, but florals will always be my favourite!

When I'm not crafting or running after the littles, you'll find me baking in the kitchen or taking in the great outdoors here in WA! I'm super excited to be here and see what 2022 has in store for all of us!

I always loved everything handmade and crafty related and tried all kinds of hobbies from jewelry making to crocheting until I discovered and felt in love with a magical world of paper crafting. Cardmaking and coloring became my relaxing getaway.

I like getting inky, experimenting, stretching my supplies, learning new techniques and coloring with any medium, especially cat images which I often make look like my kitties.
