Thanks a Latte Card by February Guest Designer Caitlin Anthony

Hi everyone! For my third project this month, I really wanted to change things up and do a slim line card. I should probably start off by telling you that as a human being, my body is probably made up of about 64% coffee on any given day. So, when I saw the super sweet new Love Café Stamp Set from the Valentine’s release, I knew I needed it immediately and I thought I would use it to inspire my slim line card.

I started out by cutting down some plain white 80 lb cardstock to 3 x 8 inches and taping it to the back of the circle stencil from the Slimline Masking Circles & Squares Stencil Set. I used a blending sponge and two colors of distress ink to create an ombré effect for each circle, with the darker color (Walnut Stain) on the outside and the lighter color (Gathered Twigs) in the middle. I also made up a water mixture with each color and added splatters to each circle. I really wanted to give it the feel that lots and lots of coffee had dripped and spilled there over time (but really, who would dare to waste coffee like that…). The last  addition to the circles was the little coffee beans from the Love Café Stamp Set, which I stamped with the Walnut Stain distress ink since I wanted a more rustic, splotchy feel.

I stamped the lady from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set and the coffee mugs from the Love Café Stamp Set in alcohol friendly ink and stamped a sentiment from the Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set in the middle circle in the same black ink. I picked out a cool black and beige pattern paper for the main card panel and used coordinating copics to color in the images, adding in a hot pink combo for a fun pop. I used the coordinating die sets to cut out the images then removed the circle panel from the stencil and added some Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs to the outer edges of the rectangle.

This card came together so quickly at the end. I glued the circle panel to the pattern paper and added my images to their circles. I decided to put the cups at the bottom because they had a heavier feel vs the latte lady. I glued the whole piece down to a card base measuring 3.5 x 8.5 inches and paired it with a kraft brown slimline envelope. This was a really fun card to make and I can’t wait to play with these slim line stencils some more.

As a bonus, I was begged into sharing one last picture with you this week. My 6 years old daughter came to inspect my work and fell in love with the Woodland Spring Stamp Set that I used in my first card. She made her own card with those stamps, completely on her own start to finish and asked if I could share it with you all- we hope it makes you smile!

Sending My Love Snowman Card by Larissa Heskett

Sending My Love Snowman Card by Larissa Heskett | Snowman Roundabout Stamp Set and Heart Frames Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs

Sending Love and Snowmen!

We are loving how the team is thinking of new and fun ways to create Valentine's Day Cards this week!  Today we are featuring a fun snowman themed love card by Larissa! To create this adorable card she stamped the big image of snowman from our Snowman Roundabout Stamp Set and then cut it into a heart shape using our new Heart Frames Die Set! She colored the snowmen in pretty pastel colors and used the image to create a fun heart shaped shaker card. To cut out the shaker frame she also used two of the heart dies from our Heart Frames Die Set. She filled the shaker with sweet sequins and then added it to her card with the "Sending my Love" sentiment from the Heartfelt Love Stamp Set. She also framed it with a scalloped edge cut out of pink polka dot paper using our Frames & Flags Die Set

She even created a coordinating envelope by stamping the snowmen onto the flap! How adorable!

Merci Meow Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Merci Meow Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set, Frames & Flags Die Set, Land Borders Die Set, and Pawprint Shaker Die Set by Newton's Nook

Merci Meow!

Today we are sharing a card by Tatiana that is sure to brighten your day! This adorable kitty thank you card features Newton in the hot air balloon from our Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set. She stamped this sweet image and colored the hot air balloon in a rainbow of pretty colors using copic markers. For her card today, she fussy cut the image out by hand, but if you don't like to hand cut you could use the coordinating Newton Dreams of Paris Die Set

For the rectangle behind the kitty she created an ombré blue sky using distress inks. Then she cut out the stitched rectangle using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She also cut it again several times using our Land Borders Die Set to added the curved stitches. Then she carefully re-assembled the pieces together to make that fun sky!

For the sentiment, she stamped the word "merci" from the Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set, embossing it in white. Then she added the word "meow" below it, die cutting it out using our Pawprint Shaker Die Set on glittery white paper.  A few iridescent sequins add the perfect finishing touch.!

Here is a close-up so you can see all the amazing details:

Espresso Your Love Card by Tina Herbeck | Newton's Mug and Love Café Stamp Sets, Tumbling Hearts Stencil & Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs

Special Delivery!

Today Tina has created an adorable kitty card that is perfect for Valentine's Day! She started out by stamping the kitty from our Newton's Mug Stamp Set. She added hearts to the front of the mug using the hearts from the Love Emergency Stamp Set and the Smitten Kitten Stamp Set. Then she colored the image with copics, adding fun fur stripes on the kitty. So cute! The image was cut out using the coordinating Newton's Mug Die Set

Behind the kitty she created a pretty pattern of hearts using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil along with some Distress inks. She cut this out with our Framework Die Set to add the fun postage edge. The sentiment "Espresso your Love" is from our Love Cafe Stamp Set
