Happy Christmas Card by Jess Gerstner

Happy Christmas Card by Jess Gerstner | Newton Loves Coffee, Beautiful Blizzard and Simply Seasonal Stamp sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Happy Christmas with Coffee!

Today Jess combined several NND sets to create this adorable Christmas card! She started out embossing some snowflakes from our Beautiful Blizzard stamp set onto some pretty woodgrain paper. She added on that adorable kitty hugging his coffee mug from our Newton Loves Coffee stamp set and finished it off with the "Happy Christmas" sentiment created using words from our Simply Seasonal set. This card is so perfect for Christmas with all the neutral colors and the pop of red and green!

Jess created a video for this card too!

This week we are sharing several goodbyes as we are having a new Design Team starting in January! This post will be the last post for Jess as a Design Team Member! We've really enjoyed all her fun creations and videos over the last couple of years!

Although this is Jess's last post as on the Newton's Nook Design Team she's still going to be hanging out with us in 2017 to help out with our Inky Paws Challenges! In the new year we're going to switch up our challenges a bit so stay tuned for some exciting new changes!

Thanks for the beautiful inspiration today, Jess! You can see more of her projects on her blog, Jess Crafts  - and you can also follow her Jess Crafts youtube channel to see great videos too!

Merry Everything Card by Stephanie Muzzulin

Merry Everything Card by Stephanie Muzzulin | Serene Silhouettes stamp set by Netwon's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Merry Everything!

Awww! This card by Stephanie will make you smile! She used our fun little critters from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set and created a cut little scene in her card using the birch tree, deer and two bunnies. She trimmed them out with the coordinating Serene Silhouettes die set too. Then she surrounded the little scene with fun bright patterns and a bit Merry Everything sentiment! What a fun and playful Christmas card!

I am sad to say that this is Stephanie's last post as a Design Team member! We have really enjoyed having her on our team for two and a half years! That whole times she's been inspiring us with her creative uses of pattern paper and stamps together and creating truly beautiful cards! We are so sad to see her go but we've enjoyed having her be part of our team for so long! We definitely wish her the very best as she continues to do fun things in the craft world and will definitely be checking out her blog - Handmade Creations by Stephanie - often to say hello and we hope you will too!

Happy Holidays Card by Kimberly Rendino

Happy Holidays Card by Kimberly Rendino | Tags Times Two stamp set and Festive Forest Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Happy Holidays Tag card

Wow! It's so cool how Kimberly used tags on this card! She used the backside of a tag stamp from the Tag Sampler stamp set to create solid tags stamped in red, treen and brown on the kraft paper and then used the dotted tag stamp to create white edges! What a fun idea! I love how simple and creative this is! Then she added the tree using the Festive Forest Die Set. The gold star on top is so pretty!
The she finished it off with the little "Happy Holidays" sentiment from the Holiday Smooches stamp set, embossed in white over black! What a lovely card!

I am sad to say that this is Kimberly's last post as a Design Team member! We have really enjoyed having her on our team for the last TWO years! She's been such a rock star and always has inspired us with her creative uses of our stamps and her bright and colorful designs! We are so sad to see her go but we've enjoyed having her hang out with us for so long! We definitely wish her the very best as she continues to do fun things in the craft world and will definitely be checking out her blog -Kimplete Kreativity - often to say hello and we hope you will too!

Birthday Brew card by Guest Designer Anni Lerche

I am back again with another card as a guest designer for Newton’s Nook Designs.

On my last post I mentioned that there are some images I can’t get by: Snowmen, foxes and COFFEE! I am sure you all know this super cute set called Newton Loves Coffee. For my card today I used this sweet set.

Birthday Brew card by Guest Designer Anni Lerche | Newton Loves Coffee Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I stamped the images with Memento ink on Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock. This is my favorite paper for coloring with colored pencils. I chose a warm grey, a coral pink and an aqua color and colored the images in shades of these colors. I added some highlights with a white gel pen and a little bit of Glossy Accents. I fussy cut the cat and all the cups.

Then I die cut a stitched rectangle from white cardstock. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in dark brown embossing powder. To create a “floor” for Newton to sit on I added a little bit of ink blending through a stencil. After adhering all the images to that panel I found the card needed some darker accents. So I stamped and heat embossed some coffee beans with the same embossing powder I used for the sentiment.

I chose a light grey card base and assembled the card. For a finishing touch I added some sequins! Hope you like my card! Thanks for stopping by! See you next week!

I had a ton of fun playing with our NEW Sweater Weather stamp set and making shaker cards!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop! Shaker cards by Jennifer Jackson | Sweater Weather Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

The first card I created was this fun wintery shaker card using the kitty from Sweater Weather stamp set and coloring her sweater with red and green. I trimmed out the image using the coordinating Sweater Weather Die Set. Isn't the kitty so adorable in his sweater?

I created the fun shaker part of the card using sequins in green and copper and adding some pine branches from the Pines & Holly Die Set. I also added on the "feline festive" sentiment from the Ornamental Newton stamp set.

Then, since I was having so much fun, I created a second card using the Sweater Weather stamp set. This time I colored the cute little fox wearing a sweater and created a fun wintery shaker card. Inside the shaker I added a couple of mittens, also from the the Sweater Weather stamp set.

I decided this card needed some trees so I added two little trees from the Fox Hollow stamp set, trimmed out with the Fox Hollow Die Set. The sentiment "we go together like winer and sweaters" is from the Sweater Weather stamp set.

In case you haven't met Newton yet...
Here's one of my favorite snapshots of him. Isn't he handsome?

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Today I'm playing along with the WINTER Coffee Lovers Blog hop!

There are going to be TONS of fun prizes too -
including a $25 store credit from us at Newton's Nook Designs!
You can head over to the Coffee Lovers Blog for more details on how to play along!

Here's what I created:

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Cat and Coffee Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Coffee Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Of course I HAD to use our Newton Loves Coffee stamp set since it features two of our favorite things: Newton & coffee.  I chose to use the image of the kitty hugging a to-go mug from this set. Since I've been in a Christmas card mode I made this card with a little bit of holiday cheer, coloring a red to-go cup with a gold wrap. I colored the image with copics and went over it with a wink of stella glitter marker. You can't tell from the photo but it's really sparkly! I also colored a little teal mug with a red paw print on it. Both images were then trimmed out using the  Newton Loves Coffee die set

Once the images were done I created the card using some fun pattern papers I had in my stash along with some dots created with Nuvo crystal and glitter drops. I finished off the card with the sentiment "I need some coffee right meow" which is also part of the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set.

If you haven't checked out this set yet, here's an image
of the  Newton Loves Coffee stamp set:

If you are new to us, you might not know that Newton is our real kitty! You can follow us on facebook or instagram to see lots of photos of him! By the way - Newton really DOES LOVE COFFEE! I can't leave it unguarded or he will come stick his paw into the mug and then lick it! Silly kitty!

Hope you enjoyed this coffee card today! Make sure you head over to the Coffee Lover's Blog to find out how you can link up your card to play along -- There are a TON of prizes, including one from us at Newton's Nook Designs!
