Warm Wishes Octopus Card!

Warm Wishes Octopus card using SEAson's Greeting Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs

Sending you lots of warm wishes!

Has it been cold where you live? This January has been a horribly cold one here in Wisconsin. We've had several days of -20 and lower temps! Sooooo cold! So I thought it would be fun to make a silly warm wishes octopus card to send a friend this winter!

Plus, I love finding ways to use stamps for multiple occasions. This set, SEAson's Greetings, was part of our holiday release but I love that just by changing the colors to something a little less holiday, you can easily make this card fit other wintery occasions too!

To create this card, I stamped this cute octo on watercolor paper with waterproof ink and then colored it in with distress markers and a water brush. I love this purple/green/teal color combo! So fun and cheery! Here are a couple close-ups so you can see the fun coloring.

After the ocotpus was all colored I cut it out with circle dies in my big shot and then added it onto this card with a doily behind it for fun! Then I added some patterned paper and washi tape (I can't seem to make a card without washi tape and bakers twine lately).

What do you think? Doesn't changing up the colors really give this stamp set a fresh, winter feel? I also grabbed the "warm wishes" sentiment from the Snow Day Stamp set - but you could use any word you like - it would be cute for a winter birthday too!

By the way - this set is one of our sets that's ON SALE this week!  We're trying to make room for our spring sets -so from now until Friday, February 7th - select stamp sets are on sale for just $10.99!  What a great time to snatch them up! Check out our site to see the sale: http://www.newtonsnookdesigns.com/sale/

Nuts about You Valentine by Tessa Wise!

Valentine by Tessa Wise using Sweetheart Tails Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs

I'm NUTS about this card!

He he he... sorry - I couldn't resist the pun! But it's really true, I just love how Tessa created the fun pile of nuts with the squirrel on top! She used our newest set, Sweetheart Tails to create this fun scene!  I love that she used two of the smallest stamps in the set, the squirrel and the acorn - just shows how versatile this set can be!! Plus, I bet that squirrel would love the addition of the sequins to his acorn pile!

Thanks for the fun card, Tessa! If you're reading this, make sure you pop over to Tessa's blog, Crafty Girl Designs and tell her how adorable it is!

Love Bandit!

Raccoon Valentine using Sweetheart Tails Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs!

Love Thief!

This little bandit (that's what I like to call raccoons) makes such a cute little Valentine! He's from our new Sweetheart Tails stamp set and he's one of my favorites! I really just love coloring him! For this card I colored the image with copic markers, using a colorless blender to pull a bit of color out around the eyes so they popped out a bit more! Then I added him to this card with tones of grey, black and pink! Such a great love card! I also added the heart border along the bottom of the card in pink ink!

Hope this fun card brightens up your Monday!

p.s. don't forget to follow us on pinterest! We have boards for each stamp set plus just fun inspirational boards too - right now I'm having fun adding items to our Be My Valentine board! Don't you think pinterest is so fun ... and addicting!!
