Inky Paws Challenge #3 Winner!

Today is Winner Day! 

We had so much fun checking out all the entries for our third Inky Paws Challenge at here at the Newton's Nook Designs blog. I have to say, this was a tough one. The sketch was simple but all your creations were amazing! I had a hard time deciding but there was one that stood out after I looked them all again!

This card by Tricia Traxler is our Winner this month!  What stood out was how she used multiple stamps together in a way I never imagined! I had always imagined filling the wagon from Wagon of Wishes with the leaves or the pumpkin/Kitty image but Tricia combined these two images without using the wagon! I love how the kitty looks like he's asleep in the pile of pumpkins and leaves! So cute! Plus I love how she colored the kitty with stripes on his back! Spell Casting Wizard Card

You Cast a Spell on Me!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Today I'm sharing a wizard card I made using the Magical Dreams stamp set! I colored this fun guy with copics and added him to this blue card with some sparkly glitter paper in blue and copper! I also paper pierced the "potion" with the blue glitter paper. This one looks so much "sparklier" in person... he he he. But I love how it turned out. This wizard is so much fun to color! I think this would be a great card to send anyone - it could work for almost any occasion!

Halloween Mummy Bear Card

Today I'm sharing this super cute Mummy Bear Card I made using one of the sale sets, Boo Crew! If you haven't snatched this set up yet you should definitely grab one today. It's such a fun set to color! On this card I stamped the bear Mummy image on kraft card stock and colored him with colored pencils. Isn't it fun how the white wrappings pop off that paper? I just love this funny little guy!  Then I added some patterned paper and washi tape and some bakers twine in orange and black! what a fun Halloween Card! Plus  - it was really simple to make! Gotta love that!

I think this might be one of my favorite cards using that cute dragon from the Magical Dreams stamp set! I love how versatile this set is - you can make either masculine or feminine cards with it! For this card, I wanted to make it a little more "girly" so I choose greens and purples as my color palette. I stamped the dragon on kraft card stock and colored him with inktense colored pencils.  Then I added him onto this card with shades of purple and green patterned paper!  I think this turned out perfectly!

Boo Crew Halloween Tag by Jennifer Ingle

This Boo Tag is the cutest! 

Seriously cute! I just love this cute little "boo" tag created by Design Team member Jennifer Ingle! I love that ghost kitty from the Boo Crew stamp set (this set is on SALE this week - check out our sale page). Jennifer made him extra cute with the little texture on him and some googlie eyes! And chevron ribbon! Awesome! I think this would look great on a bag of halloween goodies .... maybe some candy corn?

Guest Designers for October!

Wow - Can you believe that it's October 1st already? I have a special announcement to make today - for October we will be having TWO awesome Guest Designers! This month we will be joined by Alice Wertz and Danielle Pandeline!  I am so excited for to have these two ladies join us this month - I can hardly wait to see what they create! They will be helping us with our four new Holiday sets! The holiday sets will be for sale on Oct. 18  but we will start showing sneak peeks and previews soon - in about two weeks! It's going to be a blast!
