Plant Smiles, Grow Laughter Card by Amanda Wilcox

Puppy Laughter and Smiles Card!

Hi friends! It's Amanda from Twiddler's Nook joining you today with a spring-themed card. I created a fabulous stenciled background and used one of the adorable Spring Heights images and sentiments to bring it all together.

This card features:
Spring Heights Stamp Set
Spring Heights Die Set
Trailing Leaves Stencil
Frames & Flags Die Set

First, I stenciled the Trailing Leaves stencil on a piece of white cardstock with two tones of green ink - one darker and one brighter. This gives visual variation in the stenciling. I also faded the inking, darkest in the bottom left corner and lightest in the upper right corner of the panel. After that, I removed the stencil and used the same ink to go over the whole panel in the same fashion. Next, I smooshed ink on an acrylic block, spritzed it with water and flicked it across the panel. Then, I repeated that with white acrylic paint. This is my favorite way to add non-dimensional texture to a panel. 

It's beautiful!

 

Now, it's time for coloring! I stamped and colored my Spring Heights puppy image with copic markers. After that, I used the coordinating die to cut it out. I also chose a sentiment from this set to stamp and heat emboss on a die cut banner from the Frames & Flags die set.

Once the background panel was dry, I ripped one edge off for a more raw look. Before adding this panel to my card base, I took the green ink pads direct-to-paper by dragging them across the edge of the card base. This is a quick and awesome way to add textured color to your paper; especially if your ink pads have a felt base vs foam.

For assembly now, I popped the stenciled panel up with foam tape on the inked card base. Then I wrapped twine around the sentiment banner and added that to the upper right with foam squares. Last, I added my image with foam tape and finished the design off with glossy accents on puppy noses and flower centers.

Playful Puppies Birthday Card!

Today we are sharing a foiled birthday card by Donna!

If you love bold colors, a touch of retro flair, and adorable critters, this card checks all the boxes! Today’s card I am featuring the  Retro Mix Toner Front cards, Dog Birthday Party Stamp Set and die along with a couple of other fun products.

Here is how I created my card:
The background I used some foil from my stash to bring some shine to the background.  I used Newton’s Nook Designs' Retro Mix Toner Front cards to achieve that bright, multi-color foil effect.
To coordinate the sentiment, I also used the Solid Black Toner Card Fronts to foil and die cut the shadow layer of the “Happy Birthday” in a gorgeous purple. This ties everything together while still letting the background shine.

For dimension, I die cut the “Happy Birthday” sentiment multiple times from white card stock and stacked them. This gives that nice, chipboard-like thickness without adding bulk.

Next, I stamped and colored the adorable pups from the Dog Birthday Party Stamp Set, and die cut them from the coordinating dies. I used pop dots to pop the dogs up slightly to sit right over the sentiment, creating a cohesive focal point.

 

To keep the background from overwhelming the design, I added a piece of vellum cut with the Basic Frames Die Set. 

To finish off my card I added a few rhinestones from my stash. They catch the light beautifully and echo the sparkle of the foiled background without competing with it.

I Be-Leaf in You Tag by Diane Morales

Spring Encouragement Tag!

Today we are sharing a happy spring tag by Diane!

This tag features:
Newton’s Hanging Basket Stamp Set
Newton's Hanging Basket Die Set
Springtime 6x6 Paper Pad
Essential Tags Die Set
Circle Frames Die Set

I started creating this tag by first stamping and coloring the images from Newton’s Hanging Basket.
I wanted the green on the leaves to stand out on the tag, and to do this I used several shades of green Alcohol markers. Some uncolored white area was left on the leaves to make the leaves look more like a philodendron plant. I also stamped out the heart and plenty of extra leaves for adding on to the tag later. After cutting all of my images out with the coordinating die, I turned my attention to creating the tag.

I thumbed through the Springtime 6x6 Paper Pad and chose this orange stripe paper. This paper made the image pop and I knew it was going to be a winner!

I used the largest tag from the Essential Tags Die Set to die cut out my chosen paper.

To create a place for my sentiment I used the 2-inch circle from the Circle Frames Die Set. I embossed my sentiment with white embossing powder.

Now that all of the pieces are ready it is time to assemble my tag. I started my glue down by placing the sentiment circle in the lower left part of the tag.

Next, I placed my image at an angle above the sentiment circle. I decided on 2 hearts to the upper left part of the tag. Then I layered on all the extra leaves to give the image dimension.

To finish this tag, I defined the edge of the tag with a bright yellow marker.

Gnarly Birthday Card by Jen

Howling Hits! 

Hello! Jen here today and I'm sharing a gnarly birthday card that features our newest Toner Card Fronts and our adorable puppy with the mix tape!

I started out by stamping and coloring the cute pup from the Puppy's Mix Tape Stamp Set. I used watercolor markers to create a gray pup and then used blue and purple for the cassette. I added the "Howling Hits!" as the title of the tape. The coordinating Puppy's Mix Tape Die Set has an extra die that fits right over the cassette image so that you can add the label on as a layer! I love this because it makes it look like you put a sticker on the cassette! 

Once the image was done I created the card. I  chose toner sheet with the cassette pattern from the Retro Mix Toner Card Fronts. I added blue foil over the top and applied it with my minc laminator. I saved the leftover piece of foil and layered that over a black toner sheet from our Solid Black Toner Card Fronts. Then I took both of the foiled pieces and cut them out using our Card Layout 7 Die. I used the piece created with the solid black for the frame. Then I used the pieces that were created with the original toner sheet for the top and bottom panels and glued them to a gray card base. 

Next I stamped the "hope your birthday is" onto a purple banner. Then I used the Card Layout 7 Die with black cardstock for the center window. I added the words "totally gnarly" onto the center piece, embossed in white to finish the greeting. 

The dog holding the cassette fit perfectly along the bottom below the birthday greeting. 

I already sent this fun birthday card out to a friend! I she will think it's pretty gnarly! 

A Happy Hello Card by Samantha Mann

Geometric Floral Card!

Today we are sharing a fun and happy floral card by Samantha!

This card features:
Cherry Blossoms Stamp Set
Cherry Blossoms Die Set
Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp Set

A7 Frames & Banners Die Set

I started out by die cutting a bunch of hexagons from white cardstock with the Hexagons Die Set. Then I ink blended each one in a rainbow of ink colors. I also splattered some white acrylic ink on top and then set them aside to dry. 

The Cherry Blossoms were heat embossed in black onto clear acetate and then die cut out with the coordinating dies. Some of the hexagons were popped up with foam tape and to finish the card, the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto black cardstock and then die cut out with the banner from the A7 Frames & Banners Die Set.

I think (hope!) this card will cheer up anyone's day with it's bright colors and happy hello!

Time to Soar Card by Samantha Mann

Inspirational Butterfly card!

Today we are sharing a beautiful butterfly card by Samantha. 

This card features:

Tree Rings Stencil

She started out by stamping the big heart filled with butterflies from our Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp Set. She embossed the image in white and inked over it with shades of purple ink. She then hand cut it out, using the edges of the butterflies as a guide. Next, she cut out a heart from vellum paper using our Heart Frames Die Set. The butterfly image is designed to fit perfectly inside the scallop edged heart. So beautiful! 

Next, she created the backgrounds. She started with a square brown card base and added texture to that using our Tree Rings Stencil with brown ink. She created a second background layer with bold butterflies. She first inked the paper in shades of green. Then she stenciled the bold butterflies using our Butterflies Stencil Set with a glossy texture paste. She cut this out into a scalloped square using our Frames Squared Die Set. 

Last, she assembled all the layers together and added the "time to soar" message into the center of the heart. She cut out the curved banner using our A7 Frames & Banners Die Set and embossed the message onto the banner. 

Samantha is planning on using this as a graduation card. The butterfly theme and soaring message will work perfectly to inspire a graduate!

Dual Purpose Die Cutting! 2 Retro Birthday Cards by Donna Idlet

Same Die Cuts, 2 Fun Retro Cards!

Today we are sharing an TWO fun retro themed cards by Donna featuring our fun new stamps and dies!

To start out, Donna created fun backgrounds with die cuts, paper and stencils. She inked up a rainbow with distress inks and then added black music notes over the top using our new Music Notes Stencil. She cut the panel out using our Card Layout 7 Die Set. Then she picked a piece of patterned paper from our New Retro Paper Pad and cut that out using the same die set. These die cut pieces will be used on both cards. 

CARD 1: Newton's Purr-fect Mix Birthday Card!

For the first card she used the die cut patterned paper for the border and the die cut stenciled pieces for the insides of the frames. She stamped that adorable kitty holding the giant cassette tape from the Newton's Mix Tape Stamp Set. She colored the image with alcohol markers, making the cassette a fun mix of bright colors! She added the message "purr-fect mix" onto the label of the cassette and cut the image out. 

For the message she stamped "Happy Birthday" from our Party On! Stamp Set and trimmed it into a thin banner. She adhered the kitty and the birthday message over the background to finish the card.

CARD 2: Puppy's Rockin' Birthday Card!

For the second card, Donna used the remaining die cut pieces to create a card background that is opposite the one on the first card. The die cut stenciled pattern was used for the frame and the die cut patterned paper was used for the insides! This is such a great way to use both pieces of a die cut with a frame!

For the main image on this card she used the cute doggie holding the giant cassette tape from our Puppy's Mix Tape Stamp Set. She colored the tape in similar colors to the first card with a fun bright palette! She added the "You Rock!" message onto the label of the cassette. She stamped a few music notes and then cut out all the images using the coordinating die. 

On this card she used the same "Happy Birthday" message from the  Party On! Stamp Set but this time she stamped and embossed it in white onto black cardstock. She adhered the dog, music notes and birthday message over the background to finish the card. 

Both of these cards are so fun! We love how she used all of the die cut pieces to create cards with opposite patterns. This dual purpose die cutting is such a great way to use all of your supplies and to get TWO fun birthday cards!
