Warm Winter Cocoa Wishes Cards by October Guest Designer Farhana S

Welcome back and Happy Monday Y’all! You might have figured out by now that I am a huge fan of fall themed cards and color schemes, but I also love me some coffee and hot drinks. So for today’s post I decided to change it up and share a pair of winter/holiday themed cards that will be perfect to share with a jar of hot chocolate mix, since the holidays will be very different this year!

Warm Winter Cocoa Wishes Cards by October Guest Designer Farhana | Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set and Mugs Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
To create these cards I started off by stamping all the mug images from the Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set, coloring them with copics and fussy cutting them. I colored them in two very different palettes, one was inspired by some pattern paper, in a pastel winter theme and the second was a more traditional, red and green christmas theme.

Warm Winter Cocoa Wishes Cards by October Guest Designer Farhana | Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set and Mugs Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
For the first card I ink blended the Mugs Stencil using hybrid ink to match the colored images. I trimmed it down, backed it with a piece of pattern paper and added an embossed sentiment on a strip of coordinating pink paper. Lastly I adhered the colored images using foam tape and liquid glue to add some dimension.

Warm Winter Cocoa Wishes Cards by October Guest Designer Farhana | Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set and Mugs Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For the second card, I started by embossing the kraft card base using the Mugs Stencil, but unfortunately it doesn't show all that well in the picture. Then I layered two types of pattern paper, one embossed with a sentiment from the same Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set as the images. Finally I adhered the images on top of the sentiment strip and done!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are inspired to create something this week! If you need more inspiration, there’s a fun Halloween themed Inky Paws Challenge! Don’t forget to tag #newtonsnook in the post so that we can all see them! See you all next week!

Happy Halloween Card and Treat Bag by Ellen Haxelmans

Happy Halloween Card and Treat Bag by Ellen Haxelmans | Batty Newton Stamp Set, Flying Bats Stencil and more by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

          Happy Halloween!

Halloween is just around the corner and today we are sharing a fun duo of Halloween projects by Ellen

First, she created a fun little treat bag for Halloween candy:

Happy Halloween Treat Bag by Ellen Haxelmans | Flying Bats Stencil, Candy Corn Stamp Set and Hoppy Halloween Stamp Set and by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

To decorate this bag she created a glittery bat background using our Flying Bats Stencil with some glittery texture gel. She added the "trick or treat" sentiment from the Happy Howl-Oween Stamp Set, embossed on the little round black tag that was die cut our Tags Time Two Die Set. She also added a candy corn from our Candy Corn Stamp Set and other little candies from the Hoppy Halloween Stamp Set, cutting them out with their coordinating Hoppy Halloween Die Set and Candy Corn Die Set

Next, she created an amazing Halloween card using our Batty Newton Stamp Set:

Happy Halloween Card by Ellen Haxelmans | Batty Newton Stamp Set, Sky Borders Die Set and more by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
She started out by coloring the adorable image of the kitty in the bat costume from the Batty Newton Stamp Set in fun bright colors adding speckles and striped details to the fur! She cut this image along with the little bats from the same set using the coordinating Batty Newton Die Set. Then she created a gorgeous purple sky for the bat using distress inks. She added a moon into the sky using our Sky Scene Builder Die Set. She also added layers of clouds along the bottom using our Sky Borders Die Set. The whole scene is framed by a lime green frame with a scalloped edge that was cut using our Frames & Flags Die Set. This ties in perfectly with the green bat wings!

She also decorated the envelope for the card to go in:
Halloween Envelope decorated by Ellen Haxelmans | Essential Alphabet Die Set, Flying Bats Stencil and more by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
She added the name but cutting out letters using our Essential Alphabet Die Set and placing them onto a ticket shape that was cut out using our Framework Die Set. She added on a tiny bat and stars from our Witchy Newton Stamp Set too. Then she added the same glittery texture to the envelope flap, again using our Flying Bats Stencil with a glittery texture gel!

We hope you enjoyed this fun set of projects today by Ellen! To see more unique creations by Ellen, you can visit her over at her blog Crafty Ellen

Coffee is Always a Good Idea Card by Samantha Mann | Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set and Gingham Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Coffee is ALWAYS a good Idea!

I'm sure many of you can relate with this coffee card today by Samantha! No matter what is going on in your day, a cup of coffee can often make you fell better! For this adorable card Samantha features the kitty and coffee cups from our Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set. The original image features Newton peeking over the table edge at one coffee cup but Samantha chose to add three more cups. She colored the images and carefully hand cut them out to add onto the scene. For the table edge, she added a fun gingham patterned table cloth using our Gingham Stencil and cut it out with our Framework Die Set to give it a scalloped edge. What a fun idea!

She colored these images along with some additional tiny pumpkins and leaves from the sets in gorgeous fall colors, adding details with a white gel pen. The images were cut out using the coordinating Paw-tumn Newton Die Set and Autumn Mice Die Set

Fall Card Duo by October Guest Designer Farhana S

Happy Monday everyone! Hope y’all had a great weekend and lots of crafty time! Last week I shared a pair of gatefold cards that took a little time to put together and a longer list of products! So today, I made another pair of cards, this time only using stamps! And a little scrap pattern paper that was lying on my desk!

Fall Card Duo by October Guest Designer Farhana | Fall Fringe and Fall Roundabout Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I made these cards using my favourite technique of copic coloring on kraft card stock. I will recommend using a brown copic friendly ink instead of the go to black ink for a better finish.

Fall Card Duo by October Guest Designer Farhana | Fall Fringe and Fall Roundabout Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For the first card I used the Fall Roundabout Stamp Set, stamped twice off the two edges of an A2 piece of kraft paper. Then I colored in the images using copic markers, in fall colors. I stamped the sentiment form the same Fall Roundabout Stamp Set, using a brown ink and added a few sequins. To finish off the card, I trimmed it down, backed it with some matching pattern paper and adhered it to a A2 card base.

Fall Card Duo by October Guest Designer Farhana | Fall Fringe and Fall Roundabout Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For the second card, I stamped the square image from the Fall Fringe Stamp Set at an angle and colored it in using copic markers. I stamped the sentiment in the center from the same set, trimmed it down, added some of the same pattern paper as the first card along with a few sequins before adhering it to a A2 card base.

Fall Card Duo by October Guest Designer Farhana | Fall Fringe and Fall Roundabout Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I hope you are inspired by these no dies needed card! Fun fact way back when Newton’s Nook started, they didn’t have dies and I didn’t own a die cutting machine, so I used to do a LOT of fussy cutting!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great week and see you back here next week! If you have any questions about these cards or need some inspiration for the Inky Paws Challenge please send me a message on Instagram, I’m @everydayengineered.

Glow-in-the-dark Spiderweb card by Larissa Heskett

Glow-in-the-dark Spiderweb card by Larissa Heskett | Batty Newton Stamp Set and Spiderweb Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Batty Newton and a Glow-in-the-dark Spiderweb!

Today we are sharing some glow-in-the-dark Halloween fun with this incredible card by Larissa
She created that amazing spiderweb using our Spiderweb Stencil that is gorgeous with it's multi-colors, AND it glows in the dark! She started by using the stencil with multiple colors of Distress ink. Then she applied Deco Foil Duo Gel over the ink colors. While the gel was still wet, she added some glow-in-the-dark embossing powder over the top.
Glow-in-the-dark Spiderweb card by Larissa Heskett | Spiderweb Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

While this was set aside to dry, she colored that cute image of Newton dressed as a bat from our Batty Newton Stamp Set. She used just shades of black with a touch of pink, which is perfect for standing out over the colorful web in the background! The image, along with two little bats from the set, were cut out using the coordinating Batty Newton Die Set to add to her card. Here's a close-up so you see how amazing her coloring is, even in just monochromatic black and white!

She also added the tiny "boo" in a speech bubble from our Boo Hoo, embossing it with the glow-in-the-dark embossing powder and cutting it out with the coordinating Boo Hoo Die Set. Then the card was assembled with an added black scalloped frame that was created with our Frames & Flags Die Set. She also created a coordinating envelope, adding the spiderweb from the Spiderweb Stencil along the flap.

Here is one more look at the card, this time in the dark:

Naughty or Mice Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Holiday Mouse Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Naughty or Mice Stamp Set & Bokeh Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

          Are You Naughty or Mice?

This adorable mouse themed holiday card by Tatiana is sure to make you smile today! She started out with our sweet Naughty or Mice Stamp Set, coloring three of the cute little holiday helpers in fun holiday colors. She added amazing details to her coloring with added dots for texture! The images were cut our using the coordinating Naught or Mice Die Set. For her card background she created a fun cheese pattern by using the dots from our Bokeh Stencil with yellow ink over a light yellow background! This is such a fun idea and pairs perfectly with the mice! She added each mouse onto the card over a circle of vellum that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set, perfect for adding a soft layer over the background! The finishing touch is the sentiment "naughty or mice?" from the Naughty or Mice Stamp Set, embossed in white on a black square to make it stand out!

This card is all kinds of adorable, don't you think!?
