A Pineapple a Day Card by Amanda Bodine

A Pineapple a Day Card by Amanda Bodine | Pineapple Delight Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Pretty Pineapples!

Happy Friday! Who's ready for the weekend!? Today's card by Amanda will help you wash your cares from the week away! She created this fun and colorful card using our Pineapple Delight stamp set! She inked those pineapples up using two tones of ink to create that fun look! Then she trimmed them them out and added green tops using the coordinating Pineapple Delights Die Set! I love the added glitter to the pineapple tops! She added them onto that super fun bright blue watercolor card base along with some little swirls and the "A Pineapple a day keeps the worries away" sentiment, also from the Pineapple Delight stamp set! The bits of gold washi tape give it the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks for the fun inspiration today, Amanda! To see more of her beautiful coloring and projects, visit Amanda over at her blog,  RutabagaPie Designs!

Have a great weekend!

Cupcake Challenge Celebrates 400 Challenges! Cake and Cat Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
Of course, I HAD to use our Newton Loves Cake Stamp set! It just seemed so perfect for this! I had so much fun coloring this image of Newton with the giant stacked cake! I used inktense watercolor pencils and a water brush. Then I trimmed out the image using the coordinating Newton Loves Cake Die Set. Since the image is fairly large and detailed I kept the card simple, using a dark blue base and white layer over that. I added some washi tape in teal and lime and a scalloped edge cut out with our Sky Borders Die Set. Then I added on the kitty image with some foam adhesive to give it a bit of dimension. I stamped the "Happy CAKE day" sentiment next to the kitty! This sentiment cracks me up! So cute! And to finish it off I added a bit of blue and white bakers twine! Simple and fun!

Thinking of You Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Spring Garden Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Cottage Garden Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Spring Garden of Blooms!

The lovely garden of blooms on this card by Tatiana is sure to inspire you to think Spring!  She created all those lovely flowers using our new Cottage Garden stamp set! She stamped the sweet pink and purple tulips, green leaves and tiny blue flowers and trimmed them all out using the coordinating Cottage Garden Die Set. Then she added some extra little white dots onto the images to add some fun detail!  Then she assembled all the little pieces onto a kraft cardstock base along with a fence! Of course she had to add the bunny to the scene, also from the Cottage Garden stamp set.  The bunny is sitting on a cute stitched hill that was die cut using the Land Borders Die Set too!

Happy Spring Card by Naki Rager

Happy Spring Card by Naki Rager | Cottage Garden and Happy Little Thoughts Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

A Sweet Wreath for Spring!

Our Design Team is definitely thinking SPRING this week! Today we have this lovely Spring wreath card by Naki! She used two fun Spring stamp sets to create this card. The pretty floral wreath is from the Happy Little Thoughts stamp set and the sweet bunny is from the new Cottage Garden stamp set. She embossed both the images with white embossing powder and trimmed them out with their coordinating die sets. Then she added soft colors onto both images. Since the bunny is a bold stamp it remained mostly white but she added a little pink and green to the ears and flower decoration on it. Doesn't that look so pretty? Then she added the images to her card with layers of stitching and vellum and a lovely leaf background! All these elements combine so perfectly to create a wonderful Spring card!

Make sure you head over to say hello to Naki  and see more of her beautiful creations at her blog, Notes from Naki!

Wish You Were Here Card by March Guest Designer Eloise Blue

Hello everyone! Eloise here and today I'm here with my last post for being a guest designer for Newton's Nook. It's been such a great month, I've loved creating with these stamps and thank you to Newton's Nook for having me this month!

For my card today I'm using the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp once again and doing a fun bubble watercolour background.

Wish You Were Here Card by March Guest Designer Eloise Blue | Newton's Summer Vacation Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

To start off my card today, I stamped out little Newton in the floaty ring, coloured him in with some Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut him out.

For my background, I did the bubble watercolour technique. For this I just used a bowl, some water, dishwashing liquid and then some Dr. PH Martins Hydrus Watercolours. I first mixed the water and dishwashing liquid in the bowl, grabbed a straw, blew some bubbles, added some colour on top of the bubbles using the dropper included with the bottle of watercolours, blew more bubbles using my straw and swiped my watercolour cardstock through and pounced it on top. I repeated this several times to get the intended look. I then dried it off with a heat tool and you get this fun watercolour bubble look.

Wish You Were Here Card by March Guest Designer Eloise Blue | Newton's Summer Vacation Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Once my background was dry and my image was coloured, I adhered the image onto my background with foam tape and then stamped the 'wish you were here' sentiment with black ink directly onto the background. I then adhered the entire panel onto a white card base and the card was complete.

Super simple card for today but I absolutely love this background look, I love this technique!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for Newton's Nook for having me this month! I had a lot of fun playing with your stamps. :)

- Eloise

A Blog Named Hero - 5th Anniversary Celebration | Cake and Cat card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Cake Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Most of the best celebrations include cake, right? So I thought it would be fitting to get out our Newton Loves Cake stamp set to play along! I created this sweet card using the image of the kitty sneaking a bit of cake! I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with archival jet black ink and colored the image using inktense colored pencils and a water brush. I also stamped the hat and colored it the same way. Then I trimmed out both images using the coordinating Newton Loves Cake Die Set. I added the image to a white panel with some dimensional foam adhesive. I kept the card pretty simple to focus on the cute image, leaving the bottom all white except for a few fun sequins and the "Did someone say cake?" sentiment, also from the Newton Loves Cake stamp set. Then I cut a piece of purple heart paper using using the stitched curve from our Land Borders Die Set and put that across the top with some pink and white bakers twine!

You'll be surprised at what's inside!

Do you ever decorate the inside of your cards? Today's project by Ellen might inspire you to think about how much fun the inside of cards can be! She started out with an adorable card front featuring the kitty in the mailbox from our  Newton's Happy Mail stamp set! She colored him so sweetly and trimmed out the image using the coordinating Newton's Happy Mail Die Set and then added the image into a pretty distress ink circle.

Then you open the card to find this amazing pop-up scene:

She created an awesome scene using a bunch of different stamp sets! She created hills and grass using our new Land Borders Die Set and a cloudy sky using the new Sky Borders die set! Then she added in the cute kitty holding the umbrella for his ducky friend from the new Newton's Rainy Day Stamp set. She also added in some trees from the Fox Hollow Stamp set and the fun little red bus in the back is from the Newton Dreams of London Stamp set. Then she finished it off with the "Lucky to have you" sentiment over the grass from the Newton's Pot of Gold stamp set! Wow! What a fun way to combine a ton of stamp sets to create a unique scene! Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Today I'm playing along with the SPRING 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog hop!

There are going to be TONS of fun prizes too -
including a $25 store credit from us at Newton's Nook Designs!
You can head over to the Coffee Lovers Blog for more details on how to play along!

Here's what I created:

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Cat and Coffee Card by Jennifer Jackson using Newton Loves Coffee Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
Of course I HAD to use our Newton Loves Coffee stamp set since it features two of our favorite things: Newton & coffee.  I chose to use the image of the kitty hugging a to-go mug from this set.  I colored the image with copics making the kitty orange (like our Newton) and gave the mug a fun teal wrap. Then I trimmed out the image with our coordinating Newton Loves Coffee die set! I added it to a circle cut from kraft colored paper.

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Cat and Coffee Card by Jennifer Jackson using Newton Loves Coffee Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
To make the card base, I started with Kraft colored cardstock and then layered a piece of dark brown cardstock and stamped the little coffee mugs and beans, also from the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set randomly over it using ground espresso distress ink (quite a fitting color name, right?). Then I assembled it together, adding a strip of teal paper to match the mug and the "we make the purr-fect blend" sentiment". Then I finished off the card with some twine in a bow. I think it has a nice coffee shop feel!

Relax Card by March Guest Designer Eloise Blue

Hello everyone, Eloise here again and today is my third post for Newtons Nook. Today I'm using the Newton's Summer Vacation to create a simple beach scened card.

Relax Beach Kitty Card by March Guest Designer Eloise Blue | Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnookTo start off my card today, I first stamped and coloured Newton laying on the beach with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and using my Copic Markers. I then trimmed him out with my scissors and put him to one side. I then pulled two pieces of watercolour cardstock, and cut one piece towards the bottom with my scissors, creating a wavy border, and then that piece in half again using my scissors, to create another wavy border.

Once my borders and background were ready, I then pulled some Distress Inks out, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed and coloured each of the pieces using an ink blender. I used Tumbled Glass for the main sky piece. Then used Mustard Seed for the bottom wavy cut piece for sand, and then the left over piece for the water above the sand. Once everything was coloured, I dried the pieces quickly with a heat tool.
Relax Beach Kitty Card by March Guest Designer Eloise Blue | Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Now that my pieces were ready to go I could assemble my card. I first pulled a white card base and adhered down my background sky piece flat to the base. I layered up my other pieces - the water and sand and lined them up. Then before adhering them down I used the 'relax' sentiment from the same Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set and stamped that directly onto the background using some black ink. I then used foam adhesive and adhered the water and sand pieces down onto the bottom of my sky piece. Once my background was adhered I went ahead and also adhered my image down using foam tape also.

For a last finishing touch, I die cut some clouds out of white cardstock and also adhered those down to the background with some foam tape. I felt like the background needed a little something extra.

I hope you enjoyed my card today, I love this set it's so super cute and easy to make quick and easy scenes with it. I'll be back next week with my last card for the March Guest Designer. Thanks so much for stopping by!

- Eloise
