So Many Books, So Little Time Card by Amanda Wilcox | Never Enough Books Stamp Set, Bookmark II Die Set and Daisies Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Die Cut Focused Card using Books & Blooms

Don't have time to color? Try creating a die-cut focused card to save time!
This beautiful book themed card by Amanda uses our Bookmark II Die Set and Daisies Die Set.

The stacks of books were created using our Bookmark II Die Set. Amanda cut the dies out multiple times using different colors of cardstock. She assembled the books in stacks onto her card, using a thin strip of brown cardstock as the shelf.

Next, she added a trio of daisies, cut out using our Daisies Die Set. She arranged the daises on the on both sides of the bookshelf to add a fun touch of whimsy to her card.

The finishing touch was the sentiment "so many books, so little time" stamped below the shelf.

Special Day Card by Samantha Mann

Special Day Card by Samantha Mann | Dainty Daisies Stamp Set, Lattice Die, Petite Flowers Stencil and Banner Trio Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Celebrate a Special Day!

Don't forget to celebrate the special days in the lives of your friends and family. Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, graduation or other special occasion, this card by Samantha is sure to let someone know how special they are!

Samantha stamped the bundle of daisies from the Dainty Daisies Stamp Set several times and colored the blooms in various shades of pink. Then she added white paint splatters over the top for a fun textured look. It's almost like droplets of water on a rainy day! She cut the florals out using the coordinating Dainty Daisies Die Set.

For her card background she used our Petite Flowers Stencil with white texture paste, applying it onto white cardstock to create a beautiful tone on tone textured background.

Next she cut out the beautiful lattice frame using our Lattice Die and layered this over the textured panel. The daisies were added over the top, layered over each other and adhered with dimensional adhesive. If a  stem or bloom went over the edge of the card she trimmed it with a scissor.

Last she added the sentiment, embossed in white onto a black banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

Here is what we learned from Samantha today:

  • Don't be constrained by the size of your card. If images go off the edge you can just trim them to align to the card size.
  • Combing layers and textures (like vellum and texture paste) gives your card an extra special touch!

Little Lilies Card by Samantha Mann

Floral card by Samantha Mann | Little Lilies Stamp Set and Trailing Leaves Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Just Because

Do you ever send a card to someone just because you are thinking of them? Samantha has created a beautiful floral card today featuring our Little Lilies Stamp Set and our Trailing Leaves Stencil, perfect for sending thoughtful wishes for anytime.

To create this gorgeous card she started by stamping and coloring the stem of lilies from our Trailing Leaves Stencil multiple times. The lily image is great because it's so easy to color with just the white and green. Samatha did add a bit of shading to the white areas with light gray and added accents with a white gel pen. She then cut out the florals using the coordinating Little Lilies Die Set.

For her card base she started with a white panel that was the same height as her card and just a little narrower than the width of the card. She cut out three purple glitter rectangles using our  Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock with our Frames & Tags Die Set. She adhered the glitter rectangles to the white panel and then used our Trailing Leaves Stencil to add leaves over the top with white texture paste! Wow! So pretty! She arranged the lilies over the fun background panel, layering them along the left side.

The final touch was the sentiment "just because" which she embossed in black onto a black banner that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Celebrate! Birthday Shaker Card by Larissa Heskett

Celebrate! Birthday Shaker Card by Larissa Heskett | Newton's Bright Birthday Stamp Set, Birthday Woofs Paper Pad, Basic Frames Die Set and Banner Trio Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Birthday Shaker Card

Don't have time to color? Today Larissa shares an idea on how to create a colorful birthday card without spending time coloring!

For this card she features the image of three kitties blinded by all the candles on the birthday cake from our Newton's Bright Birthday Stamp Set. She stamped the image in black and cut it out using the coordinating Newton's Bright Birthday Die Set

She leaves the image uncolored but uses a paper filled with colorful stripes from our Birthday Woofs Paper Pad to add color. She cuts the paper out using our Basic Frames Die Set to give it the banner shape and layers it behind the stamped image for an instant pop of color. Next she cuts a banner out of lime green cardstock using our Banner Trio Die Set and stamps the sentiment from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set onto the banner.

She decides to add more color by creating a shaker pocket to layer behind the banner. She uses a clear sleeve and adds sparkle and color with purple, blue and sliver sequins inside the pocket. This adds color AND fun to the card!

To finish the card she layered the shaker panel over a blue scalloped card panel that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Shell-ebrate! Summer Shaker Card by Farhana Sarker

Shell-ebrate!

Today Farhana is shaking up some fun at the beach with a shaker card using our new Seaside products!

For this card she started out by coloring the cute kitty image from our Newton's Sand Dollar Stamp Set

For the summer scene she cut a curved edge for her sandy beach and then added some brown ink along the edge and paint splatters for texture. She stamped the message "Shell-ebrate!" from the Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set along the bottom of the sand.

Next she worked on her shaker background. She used a piece of bubble filled paper from our Seaside Paper Pad and slid it into a clear shaker sleeve. For this you could use a clear cellophane bag or envelope. Or you could create your own using some leftover plastic from a product's packaging. She then added some sequins and tiny little fish shapes into her shaker pocket.

Then she layered the image of Newton and the beach scene over the shaker background. What a fun card!

Fireworks Card by Samantha Mann

Fireworks Card by Samantha Mann | Fireworks Stencil and Newton's 4th of July Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Celebrate!

Today we are celebrating  summer with a beautiful card by Samantha feauting our Newton's 4th of July Stamp Set and Fireworks Stencil.

To create this fun celebratory card Samantha stamped and colored the image of cat with the sparrklers and the image of the cat in dog in a wagon of fireworks from our Newton's 4th of July Stamp Set. She used watercolor marks in tones of brown and red with just a touch of blue. Aren't the pink cheeks on the pets so cute?

Fireworks Card by Samantha Mann | Fireworks Stencil and Newton's 4th of July Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

For her card backgound she inked a panel of white cardstock using shades of blue. She started with the darkest color at the top and faded down to white about two thirds of the way down the panel. Then she used our Fireworks Stencil and white texture paste to add the fireworks over the top. This panel was then added to her white card base, leaving a small strip of white on either side.

Last, she added the message. She die cut a small black banner from our A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. Then she embossed the word "celebrate" from the Newton's 4th of July Stamp Set in white onto the banner and layered it over the fireworks.
