Hedgehog Cards by Special Guest, Simon Hurley!


Hi there! My name is Simon Hurley and I am super excited to be on the blog to share a couple of no line watercolors projects using the Hedgehog Hollow.

Usually I don't do too much coloring on my projects, but today I wanted to challenge myself and try my hand at watercoloring.

I started off by second generation stamping all of my images in a light tan water soluble ink, so the lines will disappear as I color.

Then, I brought in the color using various different shades and brands of watercolor to get some fun and different effects. When coloring, be sure to add a darker edge and dark shadows to add more dimension since the lines aren't there.

To finish all of the cards off I cut them at fun and different angles and gave them a colored border with layering card stocks. I popped the sentiments up on foam tape and added the piece onto the card bases using foam tape to add dimension.

  2. You did a great job on these cards AND on the video. With my eyes, I am not sure that I would be able to see where to color..LOL
