Flights of Thanks!

Today we are sharing a beautiful butterfly themed thank you card by Farhana! She combined two of our products that feature butterflies for a card that is sure to take flight!

For the background she used our two piece Butterflies Stencil Set. She used the stencil with the butterfly silhouettes and added beautiful ink colors in purple, blue and green. The pretty wing patterns were applied using the second stencil with white ink. This stencil also has etching on it so it's easy to line up. What a lovely effect! 

Then, for the image in the center, she used the heart shaped butterfly stamp from our new Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp Set. She embossed this lovely big image on vellum using gold embossing powder! Then she cut the image out using the big scallop edged heart from our Heart Frames Die Set. This image fits perfectly inside the die cut. To finish off this amazing card, she embossed the "flights of thanks" sentiment from the Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp Set in gold onto a purple banner. This banner was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set, which works with all the sentiments on this stamp set! 

What a beautiful way to send a note of appreciation!

Hope You're Feline Better Soon Card by May Guest Designer Adam Karle

Today we have a card we all need at some time but hope we don’t.  I like the way the stamp set Newton’s Sick Day from Newton’s Nook allows for a cute and fun card for an occasion that can and often is a scary time.

I stamped the focal images from Newton’s Sick Day and colored them using Copic markers. I colored this adorable kitty to look like my fur baby Max. He did approve of it in case you were wondering.

I stamped clouds onto a light blue/aqua piece of card stock and then punched out the clouds using circles in various sizes.

This is going to be a 5”x7” card with many layers.  The number of layers is totally dependent on the maker and how many they want to use.

I now assembled the layers starting with the cloud circles. Next I added the grass/grounding piece. This layer was added to a yellow layer which was then put onto a floral piece. The layers were then attached to a yellow card base.

Some of the circles were attached using foam tape as well as the cat and grass tufts. The medicine and bandage were attached flat to the card front. The sentiment was embossed in white on black card stock and fussy cut. This too, was foam taped to the front.

Thinking of You Card by Larissa Heskett

Thinking of You! 

Today we are sharing an adorable thinking of you card created by Larissa. This sweet card features a kitty mermaid from our Purr-maid Newton Stamp Set, perfect for sending thoughtful wishes. She colored this cute image in shades of purple and teal and cut it out using the coordinating Purr-maid Newton Die Set. Then she layered it over two hearts that were die cut out using our Heart Frames Die Set in colors that match the purple and teal on the kitty. Aren't those coordinating colors so pretty?

For the background, she stamped a white panel full of little fish using images from our Narly Mermaids Stamp Set in a random pattern. Then she added black paint speckles and some iridescent sequins to give a fantastical underwater look! 

What a beautiful card! This sweet card is sure to make the recipient smile!

You're Manatee-rific Card by Samantha Mann

Mantee-rific!

Want to send a card to let someone know how awesome they are? This cute manatee card by Samantha would be perfect for just that! She created this awesome underwater scene featuring the manatees from our Manatee-rific Stamp Set. She stamped the two underwater friends and colored them using Zig Clean Color watercolor brush markers. She added fun pink cheeks and then some white accents with a white gel pen too. The cute friends were cut out using the coordinating Manatee-rific Die Set. 

For the scene, she used our Hills & Grass Stencil to create layers of soft hill like waves with distress inks and then used the Waves & Splashes Stencil to add a wave shaped layer on the top. 

She finished the underwater scene by adding seaweed and bubbles from our Scuba Newton Stamp Set, cut out with the coordinating Scuba Newton Die Set.

Bee Happy Card by Tina Herbeck

Bee Happy!

Today we are reminded to just "BEE happy" on this sweet card by Tina! For her sweet card today, she features the adorable image of the kitty batting at a bee from our new Captivated Kittens Stamp Set. She colored the image with copic markers and adds fun tiger stripes to the kitty. Then she uses the coordinating Captivated Kittens Die Set to cut the image out. She creates a simple scene for the kitty by cutting out a scalloped circle using our Circle Frames Die Set and inking it with green and blue for grass and sky. Then she stamps the sentiment, also from the Captivated Kittens Stamp Set. 

For the background, she uses a fun rainbow foil and a polka dot toner pattern from Therm O Web to create a polka dot of rainbows! What a great setting for that happy image!

Heartfelt Wishes for Mother's Day Card by Zsofia Molnar

   

Heartfelt Mother's Day Wishes!

Today we are sharing a lovely Mother's Day card by Zsofia. For this beautiful floral card she used our new Bleeding Heart Stamp Set and colored the lovely image with heart shaped flowers twice. She also stamped the single bloom multiple times to add extra flowers to her card. She used the coordinating Bleeding Heart Die Set to cut out all of the images and then added them to her card front in a pretty row. She also added a fun fence border behind the flowers using our Fence Die Set and a layer of grass in front of them using our Land Borders Die Set. The sentiment "heartfelt wishes" was created using words from the  Bleeding Heart Stamp Set. 

Then, to make this into a Mother's Day card, she added the sentiment "Happy Mother's Day" from our Mom & Dad Stamp Set. This sentiment was stamped onto a fun pink banner that was die cut out with our Banner Trio Die Set.

You're How Old? Card by May Guest Designer Adam Karle

It's the first Monday of May today and we are welcoming our May Guest Designer, Adam Karle! We have been enjoying his fun and creative cards on instagram and can't wait to share what he creates this month using our products! I am always trying new and different products to stretch my creativity often resulting in new designs and products. When I am not crafting I am playing with my two spoiled fur babies. Hi all, this is Adam and I am a guest designer for the month of May. I enjoy making cards and tend toward clean and simple as my main style.  I hope you enjoy what I create and follow me each Monday this month.  I am very excited to share my creations with you.

I like to start my cards by stamping, coloring (with Copic Markers) and cutting my focal images. These are from the Neigh Stamp Set by Newton’s Nook Designs.

Now I decide on the card size and what I want the background to look like. I will be making this card a 5”x7” with multiple layers.  I wanted the background to look like a pasture so I cut several shades of green card stock in a swooping manner to resemble hills.

The next layer is a layer 2 in light gray with score lines every ½” to resemble ship lap boards.  I blended gray around the edges to age the layer.

The final layer is the card base with the outside edge ink blended in dark brown.  The paper is faux wood grain.

Now to the assembling of the pieces and layers, I stamped some grass onto the pasture layer and added a white horse rail fence.  Then I decided this layer needed some of the faux wood as a frame.

Added a few embellishing butterflies from the Butterflies Stencil Set which is the Newton’s Nook layered stencil.

I added a sentiment from the Neigh Stamp Set and a few sequins to complete the card.  I hope you enjoy creating your version of this fun card for the horse lover in your life.
