Happiness Is... Card by March Guest Designer Jane Trivedi

Hi everyone!
Jane
here sharing this rainbow colored card using the adorable Sips and Stories Stamp Set set by Newton’s Nook Designs.

Happiness Is... Card by March Guest Designer Jane Trivedi | Sips & Stories Stamp Set and Serene Stripes Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs

To create the rainbow background, I first taped the Serene Stripes Stencil to a piece of white card stock and used a scrap piece of post-it tape in the center to create a mask. Next, I ink blended a rainbow of colors using the following distress ink colors: carved pumpkin, worn lipstick, candied apple, seedless preserves, mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio and squeezed lemonade. After removing the mask, the panel was cut using a paper trimmer to 5 inches by 3.75 inches and adhered to a white A2 card base using foam tape.

The image was stamped in copic-friendly black ink on white card stock and colored using copic markers. White gel pen was used to add highlights and texture. The image was then cut using scissors and mounted to the card front using foam tape. The sentiment is also from the Sips and Stories Stamp Set and was stamped on the card front using black ink.

You Brighten My Life Daffodil Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Daffodils Stamp Set and Frames & Flags Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Brighten Someones Day!

Spring is nearly here and with it, the bright and cheerful colors of spring flowers. Today we are sharing a cheerful card by Tatiana that features daffodils, one of our spring favorites!

She created this card by stamping the cluster of flowers from our Daffodils Stamp Set twice. She used the coordinating Daffodils Die Set to cut out the images. Then cut the second image apart by hand so she could put the bloom from the top onto the bottom to create a new arrangement. She colored both sets of blooms using copic markers in fun shades of yellow. She also stamped and die cut the butterfly from the Daffodils Stamp Set three times to add to her card.

She added the blooms and butterflies to a stitched rectangle that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She added the sentiment "You brighten my life" to the panel and layered it all over a kraft colored card base.

Hi Friends! I’m so happy to be guest designer at Newton’s Nook this month! Today, I’m sharing this lovely spring card using the Woodland Spring Stamp Set and some masking paper.

Welcome Spring Card by March Guest Designer Jane Trivedi | Woodland Spring Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

To create this scene, I first stamped the image of the deer using copic friendly black ink onto a piece of white A2 cardstock. Then, I stamped the same image onto masking paper and cut the image using scissors. Next, I placed the mask on the image and also used some masking paper to mask off the bottom portion of the card. The following distress inks were used to blend the background (top to bottom): kitsch flamingo, dried marigold and spun sugar.

After removing all the masks, I added the sentiment “welcome spring” from the Woodland Spring Stamp Set. Then, a few flowers and leaves were added to the bottom of the card to fill in the white space. Images were colored using the following copic makers:

Deer: E0000, E51, E53, E33
Bird: BG10, BG11, B000, B0000
Flowers: YR16, Y17, Y21, RV55, R02, V06, RV52
Leaves: BG32, YG01
White gel pen used to add accents to the images.

The panel was then cut down to 5 inches by 3.75 inches and adhered to a piece of A2 Bazzill cardstock (color is butter mints). The entire front panel was then adhered to a white A2 card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Can’t wait to share more with you all this month!
