Classy Teachers Cards by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay

Hi everyone! Sindhu here. I'm back with another Guest Design post. This time, it is all about teachers. :) Both my cards today use only one stamp set- Classy Teachers. Here is my first card-

Classy Teachers Cards by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay | Classy Teachers Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

To make this card, I stamped a few small individual images from the set multiple times and coloured them with copic markers. It took only four images to make that entire background. I felt there was too much space between images, so, I took a black pen and scribbled some numbers to fill. I also doodled a rectangular frame and coloured it to look like a black board. I heat embossed the sentiment in white and smudged some white ink to give it a chalkboard look.

Now, the second card...

This isn't my usual style but I wanted to try lots of layering. So, I layered patterned paper on card base and adhered the coloured and fussy cut image on the stencilled background. I also added twine. Stamped the sentiments on a strips of red patterned paper and adhered them.

Paw-some Birthday card by Jennifer Jackson

Paw-some Birthday card by Jennifer Jackson | Fabulous Frenchies Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Paw-some birthday card!

Hello! Jen here today with a fun French Bulldog birthday card using our Fabulous Frenchies Stamp Set! To make this card I started out by stamping the cute little bulldog and birthday hat with waterproof ink on watercolor paper. I colored them using inktense colored pencils and a water brush, choosing a blue and brown color palette. Then I cut them out using the coordinating Fabulous Frenchies Die Set. For my card base I used a dusty blue cardstock and then I created a paw print panel by repeatedly stamping the paw print from the Fabulous Frenchies Stamp Set on a panel of kraft cardstock. I added a piece of black and white washi tape up the side for a pop of contrast.

I added the colored French Bulldog and birthday hat to the card, layering them over a white circle and a banner with the sentiment "Have a paw-some birthday!" from the  Fabulous Frenchies Stamp Set! The black banner was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. For an extra little finishing detail I added the striped bit of scalloped paper, cutting out a scrap using our Sky Borders Die Set for the scallop! I love little extra touches like this and it's a great way to use a scrap of patterned paper!

I hope you enjoyed this project today! This cute little pup will be perfect for sending out birthday wishes!

Ice Cream Cards by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay

Today we have our first post from our August Guest Designer, Sindhu from Paper Minty! You also might know her as sindhu_trappedincraft on instagram where she also shares her fun and whimsical creations! We are so happy to have her join us this month and we can't wait to share what she has created with our stamps! Keep reading to find out more about her today and to check out her first project below!

Hi everyone! I'm Sindhu from India. I live with my husband and our 3 year old son who just started preschool. I have been paper crafting for over 6 years and now when I think of it, I wonder why I hadn't started earlier. :) I am a Clean and Simple (CAS) lover although I try other styles quite often. I am also a lover of all things critter. I find colouring very therapeutic and my latest obsession is Copic colouring.

I'm thrilled to be joining Newton's Nook as a Guest Designer for September! I hope that you will like what I share with you every Monday through out September here.

Thank you so much, Jennifer and Samantha for this opportunity!
Hello everyone! Sindhu here. I'm thrilled to be Guest Designing for Newton's Nook Designs this month! Thank you so much for this opportunity, Jennifer and Samantha! Today, I have a couple of summer theme cards to share. I know summer is officially over but to those still longing for it, this is the post for you. :) I combined Newton's Summer Treats and Summer Scoops stamp sets to make my cards. Both the stamp sets are so much fun to play with and go very well together. Here is my first card:

To make this card, I stated by masking a part of the stitched die cut rectangle panel. Then, I sponged ink through the stencil on the upper portion of the panel. Then, I removed the masking paper and masked the stencilled pattern and sponged ink on the lower portion of the panel. The area where the two meet is ideal to ground the images. I stamped the images on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Mememto Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copic markers. Then, I fussy cut out the images and arranged them on the stitched rectangle panel. I also applied Wink of Stella shimmer on the ice creams but it doesn't show in the pictures. Stamped the sentiments and adhered the panel to card base. Here are couple more pictures...

Here is my second card...

For my second card, I followed the same steps like I did for the first card. To make this card, I stated by masking a part of the top folding card base. Then, I sponged ink through the stencil on the upper portion of the card base. Then, I removed the masking paper and masked the stencilled pattern and sponged ink on the lower portion. The area where the two meet is ideal to ground the images. I stamped the images on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Mememto Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copic markers. I fussy cut out one of the images but used a stitched frame die around the other as I wanted it to be a photo frame on the wall. I also cut the frame in brown multiple time and adhered one over the other to make it look like a frame on the wall. I adhered it on the top right. I in laid the piece with kitty and added the 'hanger' part to the frame.

I adhered the kitty with a bowl of ice cream on the ink sponged 'ground'. I heat embossed the two sentiments on strips of brown cardstock and added them using foam tape

I also added Wink of Stella on the scoops for interest.

Here is a picture with both the cards.

I hope you like the cards I shared. Thank you for visiting! See you again next week... Bye!
