Today we have a beautiful home décor project by Kimberly! She used the fun sea themed images from our  Tranquil Tides stamp set to create this amazing custom wall art piece for her Mom's bathroom! She also used the coordinating and Tranquil Tides Die Set to trim out the images.

Isn't it so gorgeous? I love how you can create customized art to go with any room by using bold stamps and inks that match the rooms color scheme.

Notes from Naki
Hello fellow Newton lovers! My name is Nakaba Rager, most people call me Naki ;-) I am here on the Newton's Nook Designs blog as their guest for the month of May, and I don't even know how to express how happy this wonderful opportunity has made me! I am originally from Japan, came to the US after graduating from high school, and I met my husband at college and we got married 9 months later! We have 4 beautiful children, a 6 year old boy, almost 3 year old boy/girl twins, and an almost 2 year old girl. I never had a hobby that lasted more than a few months until I met card making, it is my passion, my anti-psychotic medicine (really! lol), and just who I am! Thank you Jen for having me! It is truly an honor!

I love how Naki stacked all the the ice cream with a Newton peeking over the top! The Newton image is from Newton's Antics stamp set. She has more details on this card on her blog post here.  

This adorable card features those naughty kitties from the Naughty Newton Stamp set getting into trouble! I love how she changed the toilet paper image into party streamers!  You can see more about her card on her blog post here. 

This fun summer card by Naki is so cheerful! I love the beach she created for Newton and his sandcastle. She used the Newton's Summer Vacation Stamp Set for this card. You can find more details on her original post here. 

I love how Naki combined images on this awesome card! She used the shark from our Shark Bites set and added Newton riding the shark! The image of Newton in the scuba mask is from the Newton's Summer Vacation Stamp Set. You can see her original post here for details.

May Flowers Blog Hop!

Happy Flowers Blog Hop!

Since April showers bring May flowers we decided it was a good excuse to have a May Flowers Blog Hop! You are at the first stop of the hop so make sure to click through all the Design Team Members posts - they are all featuring flower cards on their blogs today with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! And of course there will be prizes (scroll down to the end of the post to see how to win) YAY! 

Here's what I created:

I used our Beautiful Blossoms stamp set to create a fun watercolor Mother's Day card! I stamped the three flowers from the Beautiful Blossoms stamp set onto yellow, pink and orange colored cardstock and embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I used the Beautiful Blossoms Die Set to cut them out. I wanted to use larger leaves than the stamp set had so I used the die that goes with the flower with the pointed edges and then cut it apart where the petals would have been to create leaves. 

I added all three flowers and leaves to a watercolor background that I had created using Ken Oliver color bursts. Then I embossed the word "Happy" from the Simply Seasonal stamp set right over the watercolor with white embossing powder. I also embossed the "Mother's Day" from the Simply Seasonal stamp set onto a little strip of black cardstock and added it underneath. (I stole this idea from Samantha's bee card from last week - you can see it here)

Just BEE-Cuz Card by Danielle Pandeline

Just BEE-cuz!

Winston is hanging out with his honey on this adorable card by Danielle. She used the cute image of Winston holding the honeypot and all those cute bees and clouds from the our Winston's Honeybees stamp set. I love how she added on a big white oval embossed in a hexagon/honeycomb pattern! the white card really makes the bear pop off. Then she added the "just BEE-cuz" sentiment, also from the Winston's Honeybees stamp set on a yummy yellow flag! So adorable!

Honey Bee Treats by Jess Gerstner

Sweet Honey Treats!

Today we have adorable little honey treats by Jess! I love how she created those adorable tags using the bees and the "just bee-cuz" sentiment from our Winston's Honeybees stamp set! The dotted tag edge is also stamped using our new Tag Sampler stamp set and she trimmed out the tags with our Tags Times Two die set! These would be adorable party favors or little gifts for co-workers! Mmmm... now I want some Bit-O-Honeys!

Sweet Giraffes for Mother's Day!

Awww! Today we have this adorable Mother's Day Card by Crafty Math-Chick! She used our sweet Giraffe mother and baby image from our Wild Child stamp set to make this animal themed card. I love the added animal print background paper! She finished it off with the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiments from the Simply Seasonal stamp set! Any mother would go wild for this card!

Slice of Happiness by Jennifer Jackson

Slice of Happiness!

It's been cold and gloomy at NND headquarters inn Wisconsin this week so I'm trying to brighten things up with this fun summery citrus card today! I used the citrus slices from our Sweet Summer stamp set to create a pair of yummy oranges. I added the "wishing you a slice of happiness" sentiment, also from the Sweet Summer stamp set. I love how this sentiment is pretty versatile. You could use it for a birthday card or just to send someone a smile! I paired the image with some fun pattern papers in orange and green and a bright yellow-orange card base. 

I love how bright and cheerful this card is. I also added a few sequins and yellow and white bakers twine to embellish it. I love how just a few sequins add such a pop of color and fun!

Hope you enjoyed this card today! And I'm hoping it makes it feel less gloomy here! We are hoping for more sunshine this week!
