Fan Feature Week - Day 1

The rest of this week we're spotlighting creations by our fans!

We see so many amazing projects featuring Newton's Nook Designs products that we thought it would be fun to have our Design Team members pick their favorites and share them on our blog! Each day for the rest of this week we will share a couple of our favorite projects, created by YOU, our fans! See your project below? Design Team member Naki Rager picked this gorgeous card by Birgit. This card uses our Whispering Pines stamp set.

Design Team member Maria picked this adorable Paris themed card by Amy Lim. This card uses our Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set.

Design Team member Amanda picked this beautiful summer card by Zsofia. This card uses our Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set.

Merci Card by Amanda Bodine

Merci!

Happy Friday! This Friday we are ending the week with this adorable French themed thank you card by Amanda! She used our Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set to create this adorable card. I love how she colored the image of the kitty in the hot air balloon in lovely shades of pink, red and light blue! And she even added some glossy sparkle to the hearts! Then she added this image onto a fun stenciled background with the Eiffel Tower image (also from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set) in the corner! The added die-cut clouds give it so much fun dimension! She added on the "merci" sentiment on the cute little stitched banner from the Sweet Summer stamp set and some fun patterned washi tape up the side to add a bit more whimsy! So adorable!

Bonjour Card by Holly Endress

Bonjour!

This sweet card by Holly today is perfect for sending a cheerful hello to friend! She used the fun images from our Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set to create this beautiful scene! That kitty in the rainbow colored hot air balloon is just SO adorable! To make it into a scene she added in the fun Eiffel Tower and more hot air balloons and clouds in the background. She also did a fun inked background and used our Land Borders Die Set to created the fun curve for the grass!

Paris Kitty Cards by Jennifer Jackson

Oh la la!

I admit that one of my favorite Newton sets is the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set! Today I'm sharing two cute cards I created with this set! For this card I stamped the eiffel Tower and some hot air balloons on a paper that had a subtle notepad pattern on it. I inked the edges with distress ink and added it to my red card base with some some black cardstock and a red geometric patterned cardstock. 

I colored the kitty with copics, giving him a red and black striped shirt and added him to the foreground of the card. I fussy cut him out for this card but if you don't like fussy cutting this set does have a coordinating die available: Newton Dreams of Paris Die Set. I also added the "oh la la" sentiment on a piece of kraft cardstock that I cut into a banner and inked the edges.  

For my second card us used the image of the kitty in his sweet little beret! I stamped the kitty and the "bonjour" sentiment onto watercolor paper and colored him using inktense watercolor pencils and water. Then I used a Paris Themed embossing folder to create the fun background, inking slightly over the embossed parts to make them pop a bit more! I then added the kitty image onto the card along with some little flags using red pattern paper scraps and, of course, some bakers twine!

Beach Day Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Winter too cold? Head to the Beach!

Sick of the winter cold? Today's card by Ellen will warm you up!  She created the most adorable beach scene using the kitty sleeping in a hammock from our Aloha Newton stamp set! She colored that kitty and the trees with copics and fussy cut him out to add him to this lovely beach scene.  She added a tropical drink for the kitty and some sand, waves and sky! Do you spy the hot air balloons in the sky? Those are from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set! Then she finished the card off with the "Make every day a beach day" sentiment from the Aloha Newton stamp set.

Paris Skyline card by Nina-Marie Trapani

Bonjour!

Today we have a very dreamy card by Nina-Marie using our Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set! Isn't that sky with the peach and yellow tones so lovely? It makes the perfect backdrop for the image of Newton in his hot air balloon!  To set the scene she added the stamped eiffel tower and added in some additional buildings and trees to make a gorgeous skyline for the kitty and the hot air balloons to float over! Such a beautiful card!

Kitties sharing Tea in London with Nina-Marie Trapani

Tea-time Birthday Card!

Today I have this fabulous scene with two kitties sharing tea in front of Big Ben by Nina-Marie! What a wonderful London-themed Birthday card!  She used the kitty with the British flag shirt, Big Ben, and tea pot and mugs from the  Newton Dreams of London stamp set! The cat with the striped shirt is from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set.  I love the way these two kitty images look together. They look like they're having such a fun little tea party! The "Happy Birthday Old Chap" sentiment is also from the Newton Dreams of London stamp set and she also used the coordinating Newton Dream of Paris Die Set and Newton Dreams of London Die Set to trim everything out.

Le Meow Kitty Card

I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day! I wanted to share one more "love" card today. This card could easily be a Valentine but you could also use it anytime of year or for any occasion. I used one of my personal favorites, Newton Dreams of Paris and stamped the image of the kitty in the hot air balloon as the focal point of my card. I colored the image with copic markers using the red and black color theme for the hot air balloon and adding on a few darker stripes to the yellow kitty! I added on the "le meow" sentiment, also from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set. Then I added some distressing to the edges with a sponge and some distress ink.

To make the image into a card, I chose some simple black and white striped and newsprint papers and added them to the red card base. I also inked the edges of the patterned papers a bit. For the finishing touch, I added some black and white bakers twine. I love how this turned out!  Hope you enjoyed it!

Several of our Design Team Members decided to play along - check out all the awesome birthday cards they created! Read the description below each card to see who made it.

Here is an adorable Valentine by Jess! She used the cute frog image and "Hoppy Valentine's Day" sentiment from our Hoppy Days Stamp set!  I love how the colors pop off the black background!

Samantha used the cute pup from our Fetching Friendship stamp set for her love-themed creation! Pet lovers will definitely agree that LOVE is a four-legged word! 

Here is delightful Valentine by Yukari! That sweet kitty image, eiffel tower and hot air balloons are from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set. I love the scene she created with them! Then she added the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment using our Simply Seasonal stamp set! 

Here is an adorable Love card by Stephanie featuring our elephant image from the Wild about Zoo stamp set. I love the big pink bow and the  "Will ZOO be mine?" sentiment on the wood!

This sweet card by Danielle is purr-fect for Valentines Day! This image from the new Darling Duos stamp set is perfect to go with the "I just want to Snuggle" sentiment that Danielle created!

The rainbow hearts on this card by Kimberly look good enough to eat! She used our new Darling Hearts die to cut out the hearts and the "thinking of you" sentiment is from our Whispering Pines stamp set!

And lastly, here is what I created. I used the love birds from our new Darling Duos stamp set and colored them bright colored copics. I cut them out with the coordinating Darling Hearts die set. I also added the small heart & "love" sentiment from the die set.

I created this card by stamping the image of the kitty in the hot air balloon on watercolor paper and coloring it with watercolor pencils. I love the soft colors this technique gives! I added in some clouds too with blue ink and the "Miaou" sentiment, also from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set!  To finish out the card I mounted it onto a light blue card base and added in a couple of strips of patterned paper and a doily too.

Oh la la - Sweet Paris Kitty Card!

Today I'm sharing this adorable Paris kitty card by Yukari using our Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set! I love the fun pink and black color combo and the arched shape she created for the scene to fit inside! Th soft grey coloring on that kitty is so pretty! The glittery gold bow and sequins add the perfect finishing touch.

What's the Scoop? card by Samantha Mann

Kitties love ice cream!

This is such a fun card by Samantha Mann today! It totally made me laugh when I first saw it! She had the great idea to use the image of the kitty from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set and combined him with the ice cream cone from the new Summer Scoops stamp set. It's so funny how she cut out the ice cream and put it on his head! So cute!! For more details, check out Samantha's Blog, Sam's Scrap Candy! 

For those of you who are cat-owners, do you cats like ice cream? Newton always acts like he wants the ice cream but if you put it up to his face, he doesn't like the cold and he backs away! So funny!

The vibrant coloring on this card by Melissa caught our eye! We love that bright orange kitty with the two-toned feathers and the fun bright background paper too! Such a cheery Birthday card! She used our  Newton's Birthday Flutter stamp set! 

We also loved the coloring of the dog on this card by Moonlight Greetings! She did such a fun job shading on the labrador image and we love the added details on the bright yellow scarf! She used images from our Fetching Friendship stamp set.
