Party Balloons by Taheerah Atchia

Birthday Balloons by Taheerah Atchia | Stamps by Newton's Nook Designs

Pretty Watercolored Balloons!

Today I'm sharing this sweet watercolored party card by Taheerah Atchia! She used the balloon from the Delightful Doxies stamp set and stamped it a bunch of times lightly and watercolored the ballons in soft colors! Then she hand-drew over the top of some of them to give it a sketchy feel.  She added some fun confetti and the word "party" from the Newton's Birthday Bash stamp set. I love the soft and sweet feeling this card has - it's so pretty!

Enjoy Your Day Card by Crafty Math Chick | Newton's Summer Vacation Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs

Enjoy your Day with this Adorable Kitty Card!

Is everyone ready for summer? This sweet summer card by Crafty Math-Chick will definitely put you in the mood for some summer fun!  She used our cute little image of Newton in the inner tube from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set and added a ton of fun waves for him to play in! I love now the waves peek up over the inner tube! The "enjoy your day" is also from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set but that cute little beach ball she has bouncing in the waves is from the Beach Party stamp set.

Thanks, Crafty Math-Chick for the fun card today! To see more details and other projects, you can visit her blog, Canines & Card Designs.

By the way - Did you notice she used the color combo from our inky paws challenge as inspiration? She turned it sideways and used the fun candles instead of banners! So cool! See challenge info below.

A Little Kindness Card by Yukari Yoshioka

A Little Kindness Dachshund Card by Yukari Yoshioka | Delightful Doxies Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs

Sweet Dachshund card!

Did you just say "awwwww"? That's what I said when I first say this sweet card by Yukari. I love how she colored that cute little dachshund from our Delightful Doxies stamp set with grey and brown and added the butterfly to his nose! Did you notice that this is a shaker card - with fun flower shaped sequins inside the shaker? It's subtle, sweet and SO adorable!! The sentiment "a little kindness goes a long way" is also from the Delightful Doxies stamp set and makes this a perfect card to say thank you to a friend for doing something sweet!

Make sure you jump over to Yukari's blog, Handmade by Yuki and see more details about her card today.

By the way.... our Inky Paws Challenge #22 starts tomorrow...

Longing for You baby card by Samantha Mann

Longing for You baby card by Samantha Mann | Stamps by Newton's Nook Designs

Sweet baby card!

Today I'm sharing this adorable baby card by Samantha Mann! I love how she used 3 different stamp sets to created this adorable combo of words and images. She used the trio of baby onesies from the Winged Wishes stamp set as the focal point and added in the tiny hot air balloons from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set. Then she added the "longing for you" sentiment which was meant to be a pun for the long pups in the Delightful Doxies stamp set but totally works for this baby card too! I love finding double meanings like that - what a great way to stretch your stamps!  I also love all the fun background texture and layering she added to this card! All those tiny details really make it special!

Mister Harley enjoys a Beach Day

Today I have a special blog post written by our Guest Designer this month, Jenn Shurkus! Get ready to be inspired by a fun beach card - check out her fun design below:

Guest Designer Jenn Shurkus | Newton's Nook Designs

Hello Everyone! I have a fun summer inspired card for you today! Here in New England we sort of skipped spring and went right to summer. That is OK for this beach loving girl! Last weekend my boyfriend and I spent some time in Newport RI and we sat outside as much as possible, just soaking it all in. Being by the water again and feeling the sunshine on my face definitely inspired this card using Newton's Summer Vacation.

Mister Harley enjoys a Beach Day | Guest Designer Jenn Shurkus | Newton's Nook Designs

For this card I started with a sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink and started to create the sandy background. I took a wet brush and laid down water then touched a brush with Vintage Photo Ink into the water. I let the ink move around the wet areas, and then heat set it. I continued this process to create the layers of sand. I did the same thing for the ocean using Mermaid Lagoon which is new Distress Ink.

I die-cut out a stitched circle and repeated the process so it will blend into the background. I stamped sunbathing Newton onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock and using Watercolor Pencils colored him to look like my kitty Mister Harley. Man, Mister Harley has never looked so cool with his shades and all! Ha! I stamped the sand pail and watercolored it as well. I then fussy cut out the images and pieces the card together.

Mister Harley enjoys a Beach Day | Guest Designer Jenn Shurkus | Newton's Nook Designs

For the sentiment I stamped "relax" in Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and gently brushed a waterbrush over it, to soften it a bit. I created the pennent banner and then using my quickie glue pen added some ulatrafine crystal glitter all over. This may be a bit too much glitter, but my motto is there is never enough glitter ;) . To finish off the card I added a generous amount of glossy accents to Mister Harley's sunglasses.

I hope you enjoyed this card and wherever you live the weather has been as beautiful as it has been here in New England! Thank you Jen for inviting me to Guest Design for Newton's Nook, this month has been wicked fun!

Other Supplies Used:
Distress Ink (Vintage Photo, Mermaid Lagoon)
Watercolor Pencils
Waterbrush
Paintbrush
Stitched Circle Die (Lawn Fawn)
Distress Watercolor Paper
Glossy Accents
Fiskars Scissors
Quickie Glue Pen
Ultrafine Crystal Glitter

Thank you, Jenn for that awesome card today and for being our guest! You can see more of Jenn's work and her cute kitty, Mister Harley over at her blog, Creative Chick!

Kitty Graduation Card!

This is our second post for today - to see blog hop winners scroll down or click here

Curtain Call Totally Tassel Challenge!

Today is the start of a brand new challenge at the  Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge blog and it's sponsored by us Newton's Nook Designs! That means if you enter a card in their challenge you have a chance to win a gift card to our shop! How awesome is that?

I love the cute tassels in this image for this challenge - so fun! I decided to play along with this fun graduation card:

Kitty Graduation Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton's Antics & Simply Sentimental stamp sets by Newton's Nook Designs

I needed a quick graduation card so I made this clean and simple card. Although I love the colors in this challenge I ended up making the card mostly orange and black (the school colors of the graduate) and I colored the kitty black since their mascot is the panthers! I used the cat image from one of our first - and still favorite sets, Newton's Antics. Then I added the words "congrats on your graduation" under him from the Simply Sentimental stamp set. I added a graduation cap by cutting our a square and added on a tiny homemade tassel from orange and white bakers twine. I attached it through  the center and put a brad over the hole. I used a dimensional sticky dot to raise up the hat. And then, washi tape to add in some more of the orange!
