Guest Designer Tammy Stark
Today's Featured guest is

Tammy Stark

Hi there! I'm Tammy, and I live in southern Nevada with my hubby, two amazing teenage daughters, and adorable pup. I have been crafting my entire life - from scrapbooking, to creating party favors, to more recently, card making. I actually taught scrapbooking classes for many years, and loved it! I discovered stamping and cardmaking when I was looking for products to make party favors for my daughter's birthday, and completely fell in love! I gravitate towards fun, whimsical, and happy designs that make me smile, and I can never turn down a good pun! When I'm not creating, you can find me drinking coffee with my sketchbook, thinking about creating, haha! I am ecstatic to be joining Newton's Nook this month as a guest designer, and can't wait to share my creations with you!

Here's what Tammy created:

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 1 - Tammy Stark | Card and Tag using Newton's Snowman Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

Tammy has created an adorable matching card and tag with our Newton's Snowman Stamp Set
Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 1 - Tammy Stark | Card and Tag using Newton's Snowman Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

For the card, she colored image of the trio of kitties building a snowman from our Newton's Snowman Stamp Set in fun wintery colors! She used the coordinating Newton's Snowman Die Set to cut the image out. Then she created a gorgeous slimline scene for the kitties to play in! She our Forest Scene Builder Die Set to cut out some birch trees to set the wintery scene. The gorgeous snowy background was created using our Snowfall Stencil with white texture paste over a blue distress inked background! So lovey!

The whole slimline scene was framed with a scalloped edge, cut out using the large frame die from our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set

For the matching tag, she used the same colors on the image of the kitties from our Newton's Snowman Stamp Set but switched them up a bit so that the kitties are in opposite colors than they are in the first image. Which version do you prefer?  She created a smaller snowy background on the tag using our Petite Snow Stencil over her blue background. The tag was also cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set

This set of projects is so adorable!

Thanks so much, Tammy for being our guest today! She will be back for our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws blog hop on Friday, December 4th. Until then, you can visit her at her blog, Paper Pretty Boutique to read more about her adorable projects and say hello!

Tomorrow we will have special Guest Tina from The Scrappin' Rabbit
so make sure you take some time to come back and visit us again!

No-line Watercoloring Snowman Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben

Hello friends! It's Ashley with my last guest post for Newton's Nook this month! The time has really flown by! For my last card, I decided to try a bit of no-line watercoloring. I am very new to this technique, but I thought the snowmen from Frosty Folks would look really soft and lovely this way.

No-line Watercoloring Snowman Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben | Frosty Folks & Newton's Curious Christmas Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs

I started by stamping the Newton and snowman from Newton's Curious Christmas onto white watercolor cardstock with InkOn3 Fadeout Ink. I masked the image off, then stamped the Frosty Folks in Fadeout Ink as well so the images were layered. I then slowly watercolored everything in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. A few of the details ended up getting lost, but the soft effect is worth it, I think.

Once the watercoloring was dry, I splattered a bit of white acrylic paint over the whole piece to look like a light snowfall. I die cut it with a stitched rectangle, then added it to a piece of blue snowflake paper. I stamped the sentiment from Frosty Folks in a bright blue ink to go with the patterned paper and some of the blue watercolored spots. To finish, I added a scattering of clear snowflake sequins for some sparkle.

Nailed it Card by Amanda Wilcox + Black Friday Sale Details!

Shopping Card by Amanda Wilcox | Main Street Christmas and Christmas Haul Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Nailed It!

It's that time of year, when there is SO MUCH to accomplish! Whether you are almost done or just starting, we hope this card by Amanda will inspire you! She used the image of the adorable girl with her arms filled with christmas gifts and a wreath from our Christmas Haul Stamp Set. She colored the image in a fun holiday color combo and cut it out using the coordinating Christmas Haul Die Set.

To set the scene, she created a holiday city street in the background using our Main Street Christmas Stamp Set and embossing the image in white over a kraft colored background. She also added lots of snow flakes to the sky, also from the Main Street Christmas Stamp Set.  Then, she added a snow hill along the bottom, cutting it out with our Land Borders Die Set.  For the sentiment she used "nailed it!" from the Christmas Haul Stamp Set, stamped onto a banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set

Here is a close-up so you can see the details. Isn't the added gloss on those gifts gorgeous?

Thanksgiving Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton's Thanksgiving Stamp Set and Pumpkin Patch Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
I did want to take time to share a card today as well! To make this funny Thanksgiving card, I started with the images of the the kitty with the full belly  and the kitty with a pie from our Newton's Thanksgiving Stamp Set. I colored the images to look like our kitties, Toulouse and Marlowe,  using copic markers. Once the images were colored, I cut them out with the coordinating Newton's Thanksgiving Die Set. I layered the two kitties onto a rounded stitched square, cut out using our Frames Squared Die Set. I added the sentiment, "There's always room for pie" from the Newton's Thanksgiving Stamp Set. So fitting for Thanksgiving, don't you think!?

Peace, Love & Belly Rubs Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben

Hello friends! It's Ashley with a new guest post for you all today! I completely fell in love with the belly rubs sentiment from Christmas Puppies and had to use it for a card! One of my dogs can never get enough belly rubs, so it makes me think of her!

I started by stamping the puppy and hat from Christmas Puppies on white cardstock with black Copic friendly ink. I stamped the hat first, then masked it before stamping the puppy so I could keep it all one layer. I colored the image with Copics and added a few highlights with a white gel pen. I stamped my belly rubs sentiment underneath with red and green inks for an extra Christmasy feel. I stamped the holly leaves with black so I could color them with green Copics to match the green on my puppy image.

I trimmed an inch off the white cardstock, so that my colored piece was 5 1/2" x 3 1/4". I wrapped some twine around the bottom three times and tied a tiny bow. I found a cute holly print patterned paper in my stash that matched the holly on my sentiment and cut it to A2 size. I added my stamped piece to the top with foam tape to keep the twine in place and to prevent wrinkles.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
