Penguin Piles Slim Line Card by November Guest Designer Amanda Wilcox

This is my last post as a guest designer with Newton's Nook and I want to extend a HUGE thank you and so much love for the opportunity to join everyone this month! It's been so fun creating things to share with everyone and I hope you've enjoyed it as well.

For today's final card, I just has to use these absolutely adorable penguins from the newest release last week. The set is called Penguin Pile and I fell in love when I saw them and couldn't wait to start stamping! This is a slimline card, measuring 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. It fits in a regular business envelope and still only takes one stamp to mail, which is awesome!

To make my card, I started with an over sized piece of white cardstock and blended blueprint sketch, picked raspberry and scattered straw distress inks together. Then I took the Snowfall stencil and inked up with with white pigment ink. Then I splattered the panel with water and die cut it to fit my card front. Then I die cut a smaller rectangle to create a frame. I did cut a second frame in white to put under and lift up the frame for just a teeny bit of dimension.

I set to coloring my Penguin Pile images to match the area of the background they would be in. This was so much fun! Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and popped them up with foam squares.

I added white gel pen detail to all the images, glossy accents to the penguin beaks and feet and a black glaze pen to their eyes. I also added Wink of Stella glitter brush pen to the two Santa-style hats for a little shimmer.

Last, I cut a custom banner using my rectangle dies and stamped my sentiment. I wrapped the banner with the awesome orange baker's twine that came on my Newton's Nook package and popped it in place with foam squares.

Lastly, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops scattered across the background in coordinating colors to the inked panel.

Oh my goodness, I love this card so much! It's soooo bright and fun and just really makes me smile!

I hope you've enjoyed today's card and the other's I've shared this month. Thank you for all the kind words, likes and loves! Each one is appreciated!
