Interactive Spinning Dream Card by February Guest Designer Emily Lauritzen

Hello hello!!
I have a super fun card to share with you today!  It speaks a lot towards my current mood and what I'm dreaming of.

I just absolutely adored the Aloha Newton stamp set ...so I had to use the whole thing!  But fitting that many amazing stamps onto one card front can be a bit challenging.  So I made a spinning wheel card!!  Honestly, this is my first time ever making a card like this!  But once all the nitty gritty details were worked out, it was so quick and easy!!  The hardest part was getting the dream bubble the right size to fit enough of the image so you know what it is, but also fit 4 of them on my little wheel.

I started with the dream bubble from the Newton's Daydream stamp set, but that was just a little too big.  So I worked around with an oval die cut 'til I got it just right.  Then figured out where each bubble would land on my wheel and using a mask so I didn't get parts of the images where I didn't want them, stamped everything through the opening.

Now in order to get this many large images on this wheel, I had to make it kind of large.  So it ended up being a 4.25 inch circle, which filled a good portion of my card.  But I knew it would give me a nice space to create my little dream scene with Newton.  And I kind of like that the edges hang out a little on each side in addition to the larger opening on the right side.  It helps to highlight a little more that it spins.

I created a little cloud mask and used my Prismacolor pencils to add some dark stormy looking clouds, making sure to try and highlight the dream bubble opening above my sweet kitty.

Then I set to coloring my images!  I used the same colors throughout each image so the whole card has a nice flow to it.  And I tried to blend out around each image so there wasn't any super harsh lines as you spin the wheel.

From the images above, there is a beach scene with a sunset!  Of course!  You can't go to Hawaii without enjoying the gorgeous sunsets!  Then we have my kitty rolling in a bed of flowers!

Here we have my kitty playing an Ukulele with the sun setting behind her.

And of course, my favorite thing to do in Hawaii...Nap on the beach!
I started this card while it was dark and stormy here in Seattle and it's been a week where all I want to do is go back to Hawaii.  But I'll have to just enjoy it through my cards for now.  And let my little Cloud kitty share my dreams.

To finish off the card, I used a few little sentiments from the Aloha Newton stamp set and the Newton's Daydream stamp set and repeatedly stamped it tone on tone to some blue cardstock.  Then printed off my sentiment onto some vellum and wrapped it around the front of the card.  And randomly scattered a few Nuvo Drops for some shine, along with some sparkle to the flowers.

This card turned out so awesome!  I love it so much!

I hope all of your dreams come true!!  Thanks so much for visiting!!
