Congratulations Card by Crafty Math Chick

Congratulations Card by Crafty Math-Chick | Fetching Friendship Dog stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs

Congrats Card with this Smart Puppy!

Do you have any more graduation parties to go to? Our neighborhood has been filled with them the last few weeks!  This sweet Congrats card by Crafty Math-Chick would be perfect to give to a grad! She used our cute little image of the labrador from our Fetching Friendship stamp set and added an adorable little handmade graduation cap for his head - Don't you just love the little tassel? Then she added in the fun "congrats on your graduation" sentiment using words from our popular Simply Sentimental stamp set. Then she paired these images with the perfect graduation hat paper and some glittery stars! I love how the color combo is mostly silver and black with just a slight touch of red! You could change the accent color to match the graduates school colors too!

Thanks, Crafty Math-Chick for the fun card today! To see more details and other projects, you can visit her blog, Canines & Card Designs.

Welcome Nina-Marie to the Newton's Nook Design Team!

We have a new addition to our Design Team!

A big warm welcome to Nina-Marie!

We are so excited to have Nina-Marie join our team! We've been admiring her work and all her amazing inky paws challenge entries over the last few months so when we had a spot open on our team - We knew she would fit right in and we are excited she thought so too! Nina will begin designing with us for our upcoming July release and we can't wait to share what she creates!

Nina-Marie Trapani
Nina-Marie Design

Hi! I am Nina-Marie, and I am a huge fan of anything involving cats, the ocean and creating things. Newton’s Nook stamps have always been so much fun to use in my cards, and I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to be on the Newton’s Nook design team! I enjoy card making and graphic design, because it allows me to create things to make people smile. I started making cards in 2007. My style is very eclectic; I do not follow a set pattern, rather I simply create whatever I am in the mood for. If I had to describe my style in a word however, it would be “happy”. I love happy cards! :) I currently live in the beautiful state of Maine, and have spent all my life by the sea. I share all of my creations over on my blog (www.ninamariedesign.com) and I would love if you’d pop on over to say hi!

And a BIG shout-out to our AWESOME Current Design Team Members!

We just LOVE our Design Team! We are so thankful to have all these lovely ladies staying on our team for the rest of the year! They continue to amaze us each month with their incredible creativity!

Samantha Mann - Newton's Nook Designs - Design Team - January-June 2014
Samantha Mann
Designer & Design Team Coordinator
Hi, I'm Samantha Mann and I couldn't be happier to continue for another term with Newton's Nook Designs!! My husband and I have lived all over the US, from Washington State to Florida, but we're currently in hot, humid, coastal South Carolina! We have two little boys (who I usually call my little menn)! I have always been in love with school supplies (ever since elementary school when I would save my nickels to buy cute pencils or erasers!) and that love just grew and developed into my crazy obsession (read: passion!) of paper crafting! I love making cards and even dabble with the occasional scrapbook layout! I tend to lean towards clean and simple design, but not always! I am all about learning new techniques from fellow crafters! I'm definitely quirky, and love to make playful, humorous sentiments for my cards (and layouts)! I work full time for an advertising company and spend every other moment I can paper crafting, reading and enjoying the little moments in everyday family life.

Hello! I live in Central New York with my husband Joe, son Alex (14) and daughter Arissa (11). Oh... and don't let me forget my two sweet kitties, Holly & Ivy! (Who am I kidding - I'd never leave them out! They are spoiled rotten, lol!).

I've always been creative (thanks, Mom!), but I started scrapbooking back in 1999. That led to card making, which is my absolute favorite. I'm a technique junkie - there is always something new to learn, and it's fun to just experiment!

I've been a Newton's Nook Designs fan since the beginning, and I'm excited to be a part of such an awesome design team! You can check out my blog at http://kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I discovered my passion for paper crafting in the winter of 2013 and quickly became addicted! To see more of my work, feel free to visit my blog at handmadebyyuki.blogspot.com

I do all different types of craft but recently card making has become my favourite.. I love all the different techniques and trends that can be incorporated into it too.

Cat's Meow Card by Taheerah Atchia - and a fond farewell!

Cat's Meow Card by Taheerah Atchia | Newton's Antics Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs

Taheerah is the Cat's Meow!

Today I'm sharing this sweet kitty card by Taheerah! I really love the way she gives the card a "sketchy" look by stamping the image in a light color and then drawing over the lines to give it that hand-drawn quality! The way she did her watercoloring on this cute kitty pair is so gorgeous! For this card used our Newton's Antics stamp set.

Cat's Meow Card by Taheerah Atchia | Newton's Antics Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs

I am sad to say that this card marks the LAST post for Taheerah as part of our Design Team at Newton's Nook Designs! We have really enjoyed having Taheerah on our Team for the last year and a half and we loved her cards even before she was on our team! She helps us look at things in new and creative ways and always pushes our stamps to do things we hadn't even imagined! We are so sad to see her go from our team but we've enjoyed having her hang out with us for so long! We are definitely not saying goodbye for good - maybe she'll be back now and again to inspire us! Meanwhile, we will definitely be making lots of trips over to her blog - Fill your Paper with the Breathings of your Heart - to visit and keep up with her amazing work!

I thought it would be fun to re-share a few of my favorite cards by Taheerah:
(although it was really hard to pick just a few since she has so many great ones)

Shell-abrate Card by Guest Designer Vera Yates

Shell-abrate your day with Vera Yates

Today I'm sharing this fun turtle card by our June Guest Designer, Vera! I love the all white card base with the fun stitching on the layers. She used the turtle image from our new In Slow Motion stamp set as the colorful focal point in the circle.  The "shell-abrate" sentiment is also from the In Slow Motion stamp set and goes so perfectly with this cute turtle!
